2 Corinthians 12:7-10
[SUP]7 [/SUP] And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure.
[SUP]8 [/SUP] Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me.
[SUP]9 [/SUP] And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
[SUP]10 [/SUP] Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Sometimes God will not heal us because He wants us to lean on Him and not on ourselves.

Healing is a part of God's work but does that mean He has to heal everyone who wants healing? God can and does use our infirmities to bring us closer to Him.

God will heal those whom He wants to heal and we are to rely on God and not demand He does everything we want!

Paul suffered because he had power to heal and grew so mighty in power the Lord in some way wanted him to become weaker and more dependent upon Him...and healing is not based upon the person of Paul, but the work of Jesus Christ.

If any are claiming that they have come to the place of power and spiritual revelation as Paul and therefore God has to humble you? I think you need to be humbled, but not for the reason of Paul.

Ac 14:9 This man heard Paul speaking. Paul, observing him intently and seeing that he had faith to be healed,
10 said with a loud voice, "Stand up straight on your feet!" And he leaped and walked.
11 Now when the people saw what Paul had done, they raised their voices, saying in the Lycaonian language, "The gods have come down to us in the likeness of men!"

Paul was so powerful that they took clothing that has touched his body and healed people and even cast out devils. I just don't buy that those who have no power from God could make the claim to pauls thorn in the flesh!

Are you for real Mitspa you said "the Lord in some way wanted him to become weaker and more dependent upon Him"

Did you read the verse Mitspa?

2 Corinthians 12:7
[SUP]7 [/SUP] a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me

The thorn was from Satan Mitspa, not from God.

Do you Mitspa even understand what the Holy Spirit says in the Scriptures? Or could you be one of those who have not receive Salvation and have not received the Indwelling of the Holy Spirit?

You need to take classes in Theology to understand the Scriptures.

a supposed strong faithed lady had a child who became ill as a baby, she prayed and prayed, but the baby died, does she now spend the rest of her life thinking if only she had enough faith he could have lived. and spend the rest of her life in guilt.....

it did actually bring her closer to god

thank you for mentioning this, prodigal. we saw this when our friends' baby girl died at 4 months,
and again when my friend Mandy's dad died, and again when my son-in-law's mom died.
all had been told God would heal if there was enough faith... idk what this means, qualitatively and/or quantitatively.

God is so good He will use these things in our lives, and certainly He does still heal.

but the more er, inflexible of the folks who preach 'if you're ill or poor or sad or....' you're out of God's will can do quite a bit of damage in those of us who, i guess, lack faith.

in the above cases, the folks involved belong to the Lord, so, eventually the first two were okay.
it was rough for them, though, working through the condemnation.
still praying for our daughter, who now believes God is not trustworthy. :(

Lets read the clear context and don't need a theology class to understand Gods clear and evident words.

2Co 12:7 And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure.
8 Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me.
9 And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Just curious if any of you who claims Pauls thorn, have Gods power rest upon you?

Paul was mighty because of the Lord made him mighty. God made him mighty. If God had made Paul mighty then why would God want to make him weaker?

This is clear proof Mitspa you do not follow God nor His Truths.

The reason we are seeing more and more people today walking away the Lord is because we are entering into the End Times where God allows Satan 7 years to do what he wants.

The end times are upon us, they are just around the corner.
