Look at this, according to the law:

Luk 2:42 And when Jesus was twelve years old, they all went there as usual for the celebration.

Joh 9:21 but how he now seeth, we know not; or who opened his eyes, we know not: ask him; he is of age; he shall speak for himself.

Oh!

It was after this saying:

"The only reason i would be afraid is if they expect you to come out of the water gibbering nonsense!"

I watched a kid get dunked 5 times until he spoke "the language of God" pure nonsense! I see nothing biblical about what I witnessed!

I get tired of reading anti-Pentecostal posts on CC. If your first link is true then the Pentecostal movement is bringing the British to Christ in large numbers because it is modern in it's style. Although I do not consider myself to be any particular denomination I do attend a Pentecostal church, it is a lively church and the teaching is good. If Pentecostalism is bucking the general trend in Britain and filling churches then I'm all for it. I do somewhat agree with the "gibberish" statement but that may be because I have a lack of understanding of it.

John 9:21 is referring to an adult man who was healed of blindness

I was baptized being an ignorant

I was baptized "to scape" the Lord´s justice, somehow John warned NOT to:

Mat 3:7 Many Pharisees and Sadducees also came to be baptized. But John said to them: You bunch of snakes! Who warned you to run from the coming judgment?

Luk 3:7 Crowds of people came out to be baptized, but John said to them, "You bunch of snakes! Who warned you to run from the coming judgment?

Samuel is old enough, if he believed God and the Lord Jesus.

Speaking in tongues is merely a prayer language and a sign to unbelievers.Ive told the story of a pastor friend that moved to Canada from Lebanon. He spoke little English and wasnt a Christian. One Sunday he was walking past a church and he heard someone speaking his language. He went inside and sat in the back. A woman was telling him how to get saved in his own language. After the service he asked the pastor about the woman speaking Lebanese.Of course no one there was Lebanese, the lady was speaking in tongues. He now has a huge Pentecostal church in Canada which I sang at myself. So to those who say tongues is not for today,I dont know how they explain what happened to my pastor friend. To those that say it is gibberish do not know what they are talking about and we must be careful not to blaspheme the Holy Spirit. Now there are "Pentecostals" usually independents that misuse speaking in tongues to act "holier than thou" but they are wrong to do so.

Hi, If you are doubtful you are not ready. You have to understand the gospel and what baptism means and why you need to be baptized. You have to hear the gospel, believe, repent and be then baptized. Otherwise, you are just getting wet and are not truly baptized. I say this with love, find a good Church of Christ and talk with a preacher and attend bible study. It seems to me you truly want to be baptized, but you have to understand....Bless you.

I've never been baptised. I always thought I had been baptised as a baby but I wasn't. Mom wanted to let me grow up and make my OWN decision to follow God. And I did. When I was about 13 or 14 I asked Mom about being baptised, and she said I hadn't been and asked if I wanted to. I hesitated. I think it was more the fact I thought I was going to be baptised in front of a crowd and I don't like crowds AT ALL. But anyways I told her I'd think about it. And while I thought about it, I remembered something I'd done a few times a couple years earlier when I cursed God. Not angry, just said it and didn't think anything of it until I decided I wanted to truly complete my walk with the Lord. But I kept telling myself I would never be forgiven and God hated me, so I decided to let the matter sit and wait until I was 18. And then the fear went away, and I was able to go about life normally without a second thought. Then about 5 or 6 months ago I decided I was going to be baptised, afraid of crowds or not (It was a few days later I learned my Mom wanted to do a family baptism and we would be being baptised by a family member of ours that is a pastor and I didn't have to do it in front of a crowd) and this time I wasn't taking no for an answer. The fear steadily increased the longer I kept my decision. I'm getting baptised on Thursday June 25, 2015 and at the time I'm writing this, it's less than 48 hours from that time. This fear is peaked, and I told my Mom about it and she said she felt the same thing before she got baptised, and that it would get worse after my baptism for a little bit. I pray every single night and morning (All thought my prayers seem to be getting a bit repetitive and I need to figure out something new to talk to God about) but I still get this little voice in my head. And it's crazy because at night when everything starts winding down, I stop thinking about it and all the sudden I FEEL saved and I'm 100% positive about my salvation. Then during the day it starts all over again. If you guys can direct me to some sort of scripture or bible verse that can help me get through this it'd be much appreciated, thanks.
First of all, dearly beloved, how much GOD has 'revealed' to you about the 'Kingdom knowledge of the New Covenant/Testament', regarding 'baptism by faith'?

Only then, you are able to 'act' in 'action faith' according to 'as it is written' and not 'anybody' force you nor in harshness say, you should?

May GOD the FATHER of our LORD JESUS CHRIST bless and help you and others in 'confusion' and 'doubt', due to many 'false twisted doctrine of men', rather than 'as it is written' for our 'faith'.

Excuse me if I´m posting hyperlinks that offended you, mad P.

Most of THEM are bringing ppl to some teachings that aren´t acute enough, and I had the pleasure to attend their meetings for decades, because they are working -a lot- in Latin America, but some of those (not ALL) are expecting ppl to say (or do) some cliché "teachings" they insist on, which are not what Jesus precisely taught "like babbling" and I could be here babbling nonsenses if I´m too wrong on being simply cautiuos.

I had married one pentecostal, for 13 years, and we were like water and oil at being like one... We got divorced. :(

There are problems with all denominations - Baptists, Anglican, Catholicism and so on. No denomination is perfect, no church is perfect because they are run by imperfect people. It's why I do not consider myself any particular denomination. I do not speak in tongues and I am not made to feel "odd" in my church for not doing so.

Yes I am a little offended but it's hardly the first time!

I´m incomplete, imperfect too.

I also do not belong to any denominational creed or social group.

I isolated, myself, because I know the things I´m willing to live and die for (not for others men´s teachings or religious groups)

and, if I had, I have identified with poor ppl, with rejected ones, with secular "Franciscans", and all those who have tried out to follow Jesus, apart from men´s institutions.
