i see a lot of this kind of idea tossed about, and was in fact earlier questioned about it in another thread.

people saying absolutely everyone is one of God's children.

here are a few verses speaking to the fact not all are God's children, but only those who are in covenant through Christ.
please add your own.

He came to His own, and those who were His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. (Jn 1:11-14)

For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. (Gal 3:26)

(...)just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love
He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved. (Eph 1:4-6)
Agreed.

[h=1]Galatians 4:4-7English Standard Version (ESV)[/h]4 But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. 6 And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” 7 So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.

While I do not agree with the concept of predestination which voids free will, I do agree that the sons of God, His children are those who have believed in and become disciples of Jesus Christ.

All human kind, as will all other things in the universe are surely His creations, but that does not make them His children.

Scriptures have posted a zillion times on threads past........but all one needs to read is John 3:16.

Mom actually made a thread? and in the bible discussion forum no less? Interesting;)

I know what the scriptures say, but then why do I feel in my heart that even the unsaved he sees as his children? It is because I see all as his children that I seek to love them as he does and to be willing to go to insane lengths for the sake of just one o them. I see saved children and I see lost children this is what I have come to know them as it was implanted in my heart but clearly the scriptures say otherwise but I can't seem to shake what I feel inside
Have you ever had one of those families in the neighborhood that freely accepted all the neighborhood kids into their home? If someone's Mom was having a baby, Mom would send the little ones to that neighbor's house, knowing they'd take care of their children like their own until they returned with the new baby? Or, if both parents worked, it was the house where both parents would send their kids after school, until they came home after work. Or, if a parent wasn't treating their kids well, those kids would practically -- or literally -- live at that neighbor's house?

If you've ever had that kind of family living in the neighborhood, do you really think those parents have that many kids? Sure, they treat all kids like family, but once it's time for all the kids in the neighborhood to go to college, they bear no responsibility to pay the tuition for all those kids, they don't furnish the dorm for all those kids, and they don't pay for all those weddings. And, they don't go to the jailhouse to pay to get another kid's bail, and if the medical bills come in, they aren't paying them. Love them. Tell them who can pay the debt, but not pay it for them.

Yes, we're supposed to treat everyone like family, but that doesn't mean they really are. To me, that's the difference.

Sorry, but had to come back with a revisionist motif, after peeking at one last thread, before getting to some other things,

Dandelions are yellow,
Their leaves are green,
Last thread I looked at,
Was bad on the spleen.

ONE THING I love about Jesus is, sometimes He got fed up with all the bunk that was being spoken to Him, and He SAID IT LIKE IT IS!

John 8:41 .) Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.
42 .) Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.
43 .) Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.
44 .) Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
45 .) And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.

Yeah, I'm going with Jesus on this one............. :)
