Honestly? I don't think this pope will change that. I don't think anything will change on that one for a few hundred years, but I see him bringing the topic of homosexuals joining the church to the table. I suspect that won't happen until the church gives up celibate priests. (That one I wish would happen, but that's not one of those things that breaks fellowship. I do get why they believe what they believe. I merely disagree and that's all it is -- me and merely. No big deal.)
And, no, I don't want you to leave.
Granted, we really do have some Catholic bashers, but I'm not one, nor are all on here. (I know. You might think I am, but, again, I warned you. I don't hate Catholics but I will be honest.)
You're going to have to either put up with the bashers or ignore them. (Ignore -- a lovely feature. lol) I've got a few bashers on my butt too, so I ignore. BUT, might I gently suggest you look closer? Just because we disagree doesn't mean we hate.
Look up the word "disagree." I suspect the word "hate" isn't even close to in the definition. You really have to stop assuming everyone hates Catholics. That's like assuming everyone has green eyes too. It's true sometimes, but not usually.
If I thought everyone on here hated me simply because I don't believe in End Times theology, I'd be gone long ago. Most disagree with me. I suspect those who do would like to change that about me, but that's entirely different than hating me. Kind of the same position you have but on a different subject.
