I think I might be in over my head. Or else I'm underestimating myself. Both are entirely possible, but I can't decide which is more likely for the situation.
So I got this app called MealBoard, to help me get my grocery shopping and meal planning and cooking stuff all a little more organized than scribbling recipes and plans and lists all over random bits of scrap paper. With this app, I can add recipes from online or manually enter any I already have, and then the app imports all the necessary ingredients to a shopping list (which can be easily edited/added to and is categorized by store aisle to save time and blah blah blah). The app also lets me set up a two week meal plan, breakfast, lunch, dinner, side dishes, snacks, dessert...yeah. AND it keeps track of what I already/still have in my fridge/pantry.
IT'S SO INTIMIDATING.
Also! It was a ton of fun for me to browse and import a bunch of recipes I've never tried, but then I filled up the entire next two weeks with brand new recipes, and I just opened the app to see what I have planned for dinner tonight, and...
I have never even eaten spaghetti squash, let alone prepared one and served it to other people.
I can't tell if it's the squash I'm afraid of, or the level of extreme organization going on in my pantry (guys, I don't even technically HAVE a pantry...I have a small cupboard though...it's like a mini-pantry? Who am I kidding, it's a cabinet, and it's childproofed to where I can't even open it half the time).
Breathe, Cristen...breathe. And stop talking to yourself in public. Seriously, pull yourself together.
