This is why I hate those little headings above certain parts of scripture.
after studying it, the "heading" should be the prodigal and evil sons.
If we don't follow in Gods plan for our lives, we can go in 2 directions.......carnal(young son) or religion(older son)
And while everybody focuses on the "bad" younger son, we see him returned to fellowship with the Father. We don't see the older returned to fellowship with the Father.
Religion is our a #1 enemy.

Every day I call upon you, O Lord;
I spread out my hands to you." Psalm 88:9
Hmm! This being the only lament in the Psalms that does not turn to God in the end.
I guess that is the loss of hope people feel when they don't believe God has the power to save them, and it is up to them. No one can have a bigger burden than that - salvation being through works, creating more sorrow even affecting the soul and the body!

16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life
and if someone speaks these words to you, and you understand them. etc
and furthermore, the bible is a translation, yet no matter, what lingo, is used, has the same value to all. who reads or believes in.(john 3- 16)
