Christians are in the business of serving of God. If a Christian minister is asked to officiate in a homosexual marriage, he has every right to refuse to do so because of his religious beliefs.
I don't have a problem with that, why would I? besides, I am not the judge

Simple minded people?
Well maybe I should apologise, what I mean to say is that I, I, I think it is simple minded to think any one human being is above the equality or anti-discriminate law.

And you're the one who swore not to return.
Yes because Christendom is divided, cc is no different, nothing wrong with people in general you all do whatever floats your boat, I really do not care plus it's not my job to judge or care for any one individual whom I choose not to care for, simple as that. No real harm no biggie.

Too challenging for you.
Too confusing is Christendom, nothing to challenge really iI suppose?

Why you little varmint. You would fight Galahad? Will you challenge me on Monday? How about Tuesday? Kinda like "I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today."
Do you like green eggs and ham? Would you challenge me on a Monday? You would challenge me on a Monday if you could.

Kedge, I don't know what you mean by challenge or why you mentioned it.
And you're the one who swore not to return. Too challenging for you.
Maybe because of this?

You referred to folks who believe that homosexuality is a sin as simple minded folks.
Get YOUR facts straight, look closer, what I said was that I, I repeat, I think it is simple minded of any one individual to thnk they are above equality or discriminate laws, please check in future before replying, but I understand people make mistakes, I do.

You evidently were unable to keep your word never to return.
Then don't reply to me, don't quote me, simple.

Was your promise to never to return too difficult for you? It's okay if it was. Just be careful with your words.
Open YOUR eyes fellow man.

Check your life.
Yeah I am about to matey boy, why should I waste my time here?

You will find that simple minded people are strong, determined, and caring.
Yes this I have observed, try not to take things way out of context next time, and please fellow man, think before YOU reply and carefully observe what was written and try to understand what actually was said, now be on your way fellow man.

If YOU really need to have the last say then be my guest, I shalll not reply, you are wasting my time, you have nothing that interests me anymore, I am done with you people, do one.

No you don't seem to understand that equality is not based on sexual perversions.. You don't get to be a special class or group of people because of your sexual desires. And I as a free citizen under the constitution I do not have to recognize a person based on their deviant behavior .... Hookers and pimps don't get special treatment either and if they want a cake to celebrate their sin, they can go somewhere else.
Yeah go cry to your president munchkin.

Why should they be made to act against their conscience, so sexual deviants can celebrate their sin? Why does a sexual deviant have a special right to impose their immorality on others?

I would like to reply Mitspa, but seeing all the tension in this thread, I don't want anything I say to be taken in a way that angers or hurts someones feelings because when I post, Im not posting to be right or to say that you are wrong. I agree with you that They shouldn't be "made" to. It should be their choice, yes. I didn't say they should be forced though if you re read my post. Im gonna leave it at that :) God bless you.

That's a super sad outlook man, and I'm sorry you feel that way.
Why be sorry? and why is it sad?, those are YOUR sentiments not mine, it's also your interpretation of what you think, it's not mine lol :) I shall be ok, I am a fighter, been knocked down on the canvas a ton of times in my life so far, I dust myself down pick myself up chap and I carry on the fight, but, I will only fight for something if I think that something is worth fighting for, you got me all wrong mate :)

and I will pray that God pulls you in.
Which God?, please don't tell me the same God that every Christian worships in every Christian organization or denomination?, who should I believe is telling the truth?

when I wasn’t contemplating suicide or just plain wishing for death.
Well I am sorry for those thoughts that invaded your power to think good things.

I would have rather been playing a video game.
That's what I might do actually, rather than spend time with confusing Christendom, actually why shouldn't I go get me a woman and enjoy her too?. I seriously question why I bother wasting my time looking for the elixir of life when life is passing me by, time is every mans enemy, it waits for no man, why should I bother waiting on hope?

That’s what my God calls me to do. I wish you the best either way.
Take care fellow man, thank you for the kind words, though I should really go live a life, some kind of life, sorry my search came up with nothing this time round, maybe next time?

I think you can sin by not obeying the law of the land or you can trust GOD to bring you out and into something better and even if GOD doesn't move in the time you want you will have to make a choice to be a servant to sin unto death or be a servant to obedience unto righteousness.

Problem is as I have found is that there is a difference in law between UK and USA, however USA seems to be going down the European laws on equal rights which apply to trade and industry laws.

It seems a lot of people think that simply by producing a product for a customer and knowing what it is going to be used for is same as participating and agreeing with whatever the event is. However I see that as legalistic twaddle, sure someone wants a cake for homosexual wedding, it can easily be stated that as a Christian do not agree with it, but will still show love by baking best cake possible.

Where do you stop with this? refusing to bake a cake celebrating the birth of a baby born out of marriage?

GOD is a Spirit and must be worshiped in spirit and truth.
I don't think GOD will accept that kind of truth which sounds to me like human reasoning.

When Christians found out HomeDepot supports gay rights, many decided to not go there anymore and go to Lowe's instead. But some Christians still go to Home Depot because it's closer than driving to another town. (like me) I can't track down every store that supports every wrong issue in the bible. We as a society are so closely intertwined it would take hours every day to research and try and do it all.

As far as this cake issue goes., I'm of he same mind as those who would bake the best cake they could as a testimony of Christs love. Sinners are only doing what they know how to do...sin. Sinners sin.
We can't change them by cleaning them up on the outside. As it's been quoted many times ... "we can't clean the fish before catching them" They need Jesus.

IMO I'm called to take each situation as it comes and not try and give a sweeping answer for every situation. He will give us the answers when we need them.

No, it's not fair what is being done but God never said it would be fair. They will hate us for Jesus sake, but they should not hate us for hating them.

So we are to be cold and heartless to anyone who is a sinner? I think not. That is reason why we have so many people hating Christians, too many Christians treating homosexuals like sub human scum.

You condone violence then?, I just see never ending debates and arguments, no real winners no real losers and an apparent oxymoron and rhetoric through interpretation. I personally think nobody really knows the absolute truth, perhaps some truth in some matters?. I'm starting to think why should I care about all this rubbish?, I think i'll just get on with life, try to do the best I can, grow old and then die, yeah dust is what I am and dust is what I shall return to like my forefathers who came before me, there is no heaven reward there is no fieryhell it's all an interpretation with no actual real proof, all of it is just another human hope, i guess there is nothing wrong with that though, whatever floats one's boat and all that jazz.
Well you can believe anything you like...no one here will try to force you to accept our faith or to approve our sin...but one day you will stand before the God of the bible and your opinion will not matter then but a fear will come upon you that you have never imagined and you will wish you had this life to live over again. May God have mercy on you

Its called freedom of conscience ...and sexual perversion is just that and should never be made anything more....You can have a thousand cakes ...just don't ask folks to approve and celebrate your sin when you order them.

Yeah go cry to your president munchkin.

Well we have a thing called elections and a constitution that we will not surrender to any liberal politician or judge...The fight has only started in the minds of many of us...

July 10,

I will not leave you comfortless.- Joh_14:18.

We are born into this world crying; we live in it complaining; and we go out of it sorrowing, for any comfort it can yield us. When cardinal Woolsey was cast off by his king, he said, 'Had I served my God as faithfully as I have my prince, he would not have treated me thus.' The more we know of this world the more we see of its folly and vanity. The more we enjoy of its smiles and friendship, so much the more sorrow and reluctance we have in leaving it. But with our heavenly friend it is quite otherwise. "He never leaves nor forsakes: whom he loves, he loves unto the end."-Nor will he ever leave his dear disciples in a comfortless state of sorrow and dejection: like poor orphans, cast upon a wide world of sorrow and woe, without any kind heart to pity them, or kind hand to relieve them: for when all other comforts forsake us, still Jesus abides by us: his Spirit comforts us, by shewing what he is to us; what he has done, is doing, and will do for us.

The apostles had full experience of the promise of their gracious Lord. "He comforteth us in all tribulations,"- 2Co_1:4. "In me ye shall have peace." And why doth our Lord also assure us, "In the world ye shall have tribulation!"- Joh_16:33 - truly he loves us too well to suffer us to take up our rest in it. If with Paul at Ephesus, "after the manner of men, we fight with beasts,"- 1Co_15:32 -all this is suffered to render the world more inhospitable; to make us loathe swine's food, the husks of this world; that the bread of life, the comforts of Jesus, may be more sought after and enjoyed. Why is sin suffered to dwell in us, and to make us groan, and distress us? To make it more hateful to us; to put us out of conceit of ourselves and our own righteousness; and to endear the atonement and righteousness of Jesus to our souls, that all our comfort should spring from him.

Why is Satan suffered to harass and perplex us? That as the sheep of Christ's pasture we should keep close to our shepherd; or like frighted children, when surly dogs bark at them, fear keeps them near their father's protection and within the bounds of his habitation. So we find the comforts of living near our Saviour. Do we carry about a weak disordered body? Here is our comfort, "We faint not, knowing that the outward man decayeth, yet the inward man is renewed day by day,"- 2Co_4:16. Thus, glory to our loving Lord! "he comforts us concerning our faith, and causes us to rejoice in hope of the glory of God; and to glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation worketh patience, patience experience, experience hope, and hope maketh not ashamed, because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost,"- Rom_5:2-5.

Yeah I been hearing about this. In truth I know that there is this old adage that places of business can "refuse business to whomever we see fit." And if it was like a Jewish business, you wouldn't ask them to make you stuff that had bacon in it right? Or if it was a Hindu specific shop they'd not have meat. In the same light, why would they ask a Christian specific business to do something against their beliefs if not to provoke? Ask someone else if they don't wanna do it, that's their prerogative right?

If a business refused to serve me because I was christian I would be super mad, and I'd send a complaint but I wouldn't sue. I mean when they mentioned some of the reasons they were suing it was like the emotional stress had caused "loss of sleep" and like "breathing issues" or whatever, they puffed it up.

As far as the Christian response to not be willing to do the cake, I would think that providing a homosexual couple would be putting your name along with the couple's as what you support. And if I don't support homosexual marriages, I wouldn't want to either.

I believe the case is over. The owners of the cake shop lost their business and a fine of 135,000 dollars

No its not over. They are going to take it to the supreme court. Now they are being gagged. Their religious rights and first amendment rights are both being challenged. Its far from over.

Yeah likewise fellow human, what if you have it wrong? what if your interpretation of scripture is wrong?. Don't threaten me with fear, remove the plank from YOUR own eye chap before YOU can do that.

Many worship the cross they hang it around their neck they bow down to it, which is an idol worship, now check out these scriptures, God is a spirit person right?

John 4:24
God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.

Exodus 20:4
You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

I am not sure if I am getting my cases mixed up, but I think these people said they do serve homosexuals cookies or whatever they sell, but they don't want to make a wedding cake for something they don't believe in. It's a case of freedom of expression. The government is trying to make an artist make a work of art he or she doesn't believe in.

I can understand why a Christian baker might refuse service for a gay wedding cake or a cake for an adulterous second marriage. It's like forcing someone to make a cake that says, "way to go on molesting that kid" or 'Congrats on your first rape" or 'Happy Hitler's birthday.' What's next? Are people going to take pigs to Jewish butchers and demand that they slaughter them.

I read a suggestion on Facebook that Christian wedding cake bakers say they will make gay wedding cakes, but they only have one kind, one that has a verse from Leviticus written on it.

Could this possibly fall under "Give unto Caesar the things belonging to.....?"

I might have made the cake - I just don't call it a "wedding" cake and would not use those words as I delivered it. As I said before in another posting, this is just a legal contract the government calls a marriage. Just a word. It is just a cake celebrating their legal contract in my eyes.

They are already getting married - nothing you can do will stop it. Why not at least show mercy? Mercy is called mercy because it is given to the ones who deserve it the least. If, in your eyes, these people do not deserve a wedding cake, do it for mercy's sake.

By withholding the cake, you would not be changing the laws one bit. Or even influencing the couple in any way other than negatively.

It is just a cake.

You are right, these state marriages are simply business contracts because God is not in them and for God to be in them they need to be between a man and woman,God's words not mine.

As far as this cake shop stunt goes, that's all it is....a stunt. If a homosexual shop owner refused to bake me a cake I would just take my business next door that's the most logical and mature thing to do in a free country.

Your comments are typical of most who do not fully understand equality laws in business, yes law maybe a little different in Europe, but I can not see how a commercial bakers can be classed as an artist. Quite rightly the bakers who refused to produce a cake for a homosexual wedding have been prosecuted for discrimination based on sexual orientation, A baker can provide a cake for this, but they do not have to eat it themselves.

Refusing a cake for a second marriage, and quite frankly saying second marriages are adulterous is disgusting and a nasty thing to say, is also going to end up with a successful prosecution.

Under law, you can not force anyone to provide something with offensive wording or imagery, if someone asked for wording on lines of and I quote you from above, "way to go on molesting that kid" or 'Congrats on your first rape" or 'Happy Hitler's birthday", then those are deemed offensive and the business being asked to provide that wording has full backing of the law and are 100% within rights to refuse those slogans.

As for putting Leviticus verse condemning homosexuals to death, then that will definitely end in another prosecution and an even larger fine, as that will be seen as hate crime, not just discrimination.

No wonder why people reject Christianity with so much hate and bile being spewed by Christians.
