For a long time i have watched, and many here openly jest and use scalding "sarcasm" against younger "less learned" christians, all for coming here and simply making a statement such as, "am i supposed to quit sinning once i believe, because i think i am?", And your overwhelming response is, "quit judging people and being self-righteous, quit being legalistic, who do you think you are?, cant you see how big of a joke you are, etc.
It is sickening to see how you tread upon those Holy Spirit filled young men and women who desire holiness, and who have the audacity to believe scripture when it says there is NO temptation you cannot overcome. These children, these "little ones" who trust Christ, and the Holy Spirit, to help them sin less each day, come here for nurture and seeking support, and they DO NOT GET IT. What do they get? RIDICULE. SLANDER. BLASPHEMY OF HOLY DESIRES. In the name of what? Chatroom popularity? Your little "clique" is pathetic and vile. You WILL someday be called into account for the way you have treated the children of God. I assure you.

Your desire is not to teach nor encourage, nor to discuss, but to defend your sins with hate speech and violence, to spew venom as vipers and to turn and rend those who truly love Jesus and who do have the Spirit of God. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.

And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.

Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you,and thereby many be defiled;

Please forgive each other, if this applies to you. And ask God to forgive you. Start leading those deeper into righteousness, who come here, and not pointing them to acceptability of continuing in sin, as this is not what scripture teaches us to do.

Set a Godly example, i beg you. May the peace of our Lord Jesus be upon these who love holiness and His glorious appearing, which soon comes. Amen.
Scold, scold scold, bless you child, really doesn't work for me. Ii's passive aggressive, not Christian. I'm out of here to give you plenty of space to yell at the walls.

"And so it was, at noon, that Elijah mocked them and said 'Cry aloud, for he is a god; either he is meditating, or he is busy, or he is on a journey, or perhaps he is sleeping and must be awakened.'" - 1 Kings 18:27

Sure sounds like sarcasm to me.
'...or he is busy,'? I don't like that translation. What happened to relieving himself or going to the toilet? That's much funnier and closer to the original Hebrew. Bloomin' translators censoring the Bible's language.

I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.

So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:

Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever..

Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains.

At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away.

You say that you serve God, but you behavior is not according the saints of God, it is according to the word if you want to see that, but can you, because the love for this world, which dwell in you?

Friendship of the world, is enmity against God.

for myself,

working on the habit of sarcasm that I learned as a young person has been a challenge, I was
very influenced by the speech around me and tended to copy-cat.
especially since as I grew older I could discern how my speech was truly affecting others in either
a positive or negative way - after conversion Christ began convicting me very strongly about hurting others -
it's like when you hurt someone then you begin to feel their pain and it feels awful.

PS.19:14.
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in Thy sight, O LORD,
my Strength, and my Redeemer.

sometimes harsh correction is necessary to 'wake someone up', but must always be accompanied
by a loving motive, else it is just 'worldly sarcasm' and is of no profit.
we are required by our Father to always be ready to dutifully care for our brothers and sisters
as He cares for us in our Spiritual growth.

as it is written:
Woe is me, for I am undone! because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people
of unclean lips...
Then one of the seraphim flew unto me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs
from the altar.
And he touched my mouth with it and said:
Behold, this has touched your lips; your iniquity is taken away, and your sin is purged.

so, may the Lord touch our lips with that Spiritual coal from the altar's fire.

It is a given in almost every case, when promoted deception is revealed, sarcastic remarks follow. Satan has an agenda that unlearned profession Christians are deceived thereby.

"Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners." 1 Corinthians 15:33

Paul uses sarcasm wonderfully in 2 Cor. 11. Especially in all these sentences:

2Co 11:19 For you gladly bear with fools, being wise yourselves!
2Co 11:20 For you bear it if a man makes slaves of you, or preys upon you, or takes advantage of you, or puts on airs, or strikes you in the face.
2Co 11:21 To my shame, I must say, we were too weak for that! But whatever any one dares to boast of--I am speaking as a fool--I also dare to boast of that.

Jesus used a form of sarcasm? when He said He did not come to call the "righteous" but the sinner to repentance..
There is none righteous...no not one

Wow! Young man, how much sense does it make to post that sarcasm isn't a "worthy attribute" and judge others about it when right before you made this post you commented in the "Be Holy" thread:

If that ain't sarcastic, what is? Don't bother justifying it. I'm outta this thread now.
:p *good grief*

oh man....the self righteousness is reaching new levels

I find it shameful to hide behind the words of Jesus while you have posted a virulent sarcastic comment that comes nowhere near anything I have posted or most others for that matter

and here it is again lest we forget

and you actually think that what you said above is OK?

"For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. Matthew 7:2

So, the Bible is not going to protect you. By your own words, you are under the judgment you have put on others

You can always repent though and of course we will forgive you....sometimes people just do not understand what they are doing

it's like an outhouse wondering why the air around it does not smell like pine

the horrible situation we are in? oh you mean the one where people who love to gossip and condemn and judge others keep coming on this site and destroying fellowship?

you mean that situation?

the hypocrisy is so crazy, on the part of you folk, that it is unbelievable

Using the bathroom is making an assumption. He could be praying, or with his spouse, or any number of other things. That's what is wrong with other versions, and perfectly illustrates why I use the KJV. I can go to Strong's and clarify any unclear passage.....not having to read what someone else thinks it should say, or what they want it to say. That is adding to or taking away from the word, perverting and/or twisting it. We know what the Lord thinks about that now, don't we?

The word is pursuing in the KJV, and here is what it is in the original Hebrew:
7873 OT - Hebrew
siyg seeg...from 'suwg' (7734); a withdrawal (into a private place):--pursuing.

Amen to this, Ember. The problem with your post is, though you wrote it so clearly and eloquently, mikko only sees, blah blah blah blah blah blah blah, because he is a Pharisee hellbent on condemning us. Jesus on the other hand welcomes us openly, lovingly and graciously.
