Where in the bible does it say that people who commit suicide will go to hell? I've never found it, but people say it's true.
Is it killing or not? Does the act take a human life? Bible says plenty about it.

A believer who commits suicide will instantly be face to face with the Lord.

A unbeliever who commits suicide will reside in the LoF........................
Where in the world did you come up with that?

It says plenty about it alright. Not one verse says that that person goes to hell/hades for it.

We see physical punishment, but eternal punishment is based upon if we have ever believed in The Lord Jesus Christ for our salvation.

Matthew 5:22

But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, 'Raca,' is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell.

if God will send you to hell for calling your brother a fool and being mad with him for an unrightus reson will go to hell I think he is going to send a murder of the person to hell as well or is this just my understanding of the bible?

I will be honest with ya Phil.

It comes from the integrity and character of the Lord Jesus Christ.

If we want to focus on the integrity and character of man and ourselves............I would believe more like you.

theaf on the crose proofs we are saved by grace

and I think the ones saved always saved is harisy false teaching ans will send SO MANY PEOPLE TO HELL
There is a reason satan wants you to believe this way. If you are not secure in your position in Christ, satan effectively removes you from true service to the Lord Jesus Christ.

But if you have believed, You are saved. But I tell you the truth, you will forever be ineffective for the cause of Christ. You will have a pile of ashes my friend. Nothing to glorify your Lord with in the end.

You forever are fighting a battle in your flesh, when the Lord has already won it for you.

Spiritual maturity comes after we have salvation locked and loaded in our arsenal. If we are forever working on salvation, spiritual maturity will NOT, I mean NOT come. Even if we are 90 years old.

Excellent observation
I never would have thought of that one. Also I believe that most people who commit suicide are mentally ill and I believe God has grace for that

Not sure about the bible but I know that Jesus said: I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. Hence it is certitude that suicide is contrary to the Will of God. In fact, our heavenly Father loves us so much that he gives his only Son to deliver us from the domination of the Evil One that we may have Life. It is a certitude that our almighty God is love and has plans of happiness and peace for us. As it is written: I have plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Suicide is an illusion! Life and Happiness is to know Jesus.

It seems there are a few people here who do not have an understanding of depression. I work with the mentally ill, and you have no idea how hard they work to try and be stable, work at jobs and care for their families. BUT, sometimes, in spite of the meds, and support these people contemplate suicide to end the incredible suffering and mental pain they are in.

I say contemplate, because most just keep on pushing through the pain. But sometimes, the pain becomes unbearable and they go beyond just thinking about it, and they get a plan. From there, they sometimes execute the plan, with some surviving and many dying.

As Christians, we need to be aware of people's moods, so they don't have to constantly "fake" being normal and happy. We need to reach out to them with love and share the grace and mercy of God. There are also many who are Christians and truly believe and follow Jesus, but their brains are lacking the neurotransmitters to properly evalute their situation. Those are the people we need to make the extra effort to help.

If someone speaks of "plan" it is code language for preparing to kill themselves. This is the perfect point to intervene. That may mean telling their family or doctor, or even calling 911 and getting them committed.

Every person who commits suicide means we as Christians have not been ministering the gospel, and helping the hurting. As for the Bible, I found this verse below about 13 years ago when I was on the verge of suicide due to the pain of both Rheumatoid Arthritis and depression. God renewed my heart and restored my soul, so although I still suffer terrible physical pain, I have learned to trust in the goodness and sovereignty of God, and not to worry about this body, but my hope is in my resurrected body, which has been promised in Scripture.

"5 Why am I so depressed?
Why this turmoil within me?
Put your hope in God, for I will still praise Him,
my Savior and my God." Psalm 42:5

Instead of judging and condemning those who are depressed, help them to put their hope and trust in God, and get them the professional help they need.

People who are murders, violate children, commit sodomy and assert to change their sex by decision are ALL mentally ill... but God will make an exception for them too based on your theology.:(

I really don't listen to "people" all that often. I mean i hear their words but make my own decisions. Many times "people" get a little bit of knowledge about the bible and then think they are scholars, but they are babies still neediing milk. The bible never directly talks of this topic and people are just giving your their interpretation/opinion of scripture -- nothing more. Only God knows the answer to this question and He will judge those that take this path. There is just to many variables why people do this to put them all in a single group. Some people like my father was mentally ill, heavily on drugs, and deeply depressed. Suicide just proves this world needs more love, understanding, and above all -- God in our everyday lives. Also, for us to be aware of what our loved ones are going through and to act if there are signs that something is wrong.

This topic always stirs something up in me. A good friend of mine lost a son to suicide about 10 years ago. It broke something in her mentally and she never did fully recover from it.

just want to make it clear i dont agree with suicide. i dont think its a straight shot to hell but think of the judgment you would get. you gonna stand in front of the Lord and tell him you threw away His beautiful gift, the breath of life he gave you.
