Mia,
You sure do know how to bring back the memories!!! "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" is from a movie called "Mannequin", with Andrew McCarthy (whom you'll recognize in many Molly Ringwald movies) and Kim Cattrall (Samantha from Sex and the City.)
When I was in about 8th grade, I had an on-again, off-again boyfriend since kindergarten, and we went to see "Mannequin" as our first and only movie together--with a group of friends. I remember the brief sex scene (the kind where they start kissing and the screen fades... and they wake up wrapped in blankets the next morning--and how low I slid down in my seat because I felt so embarrassed.)
I later found out that during the whole movie, my poor bf (his name was Andy, and he had the bluest eyes) was debating on... *big drumroll* whether or not he should try to hold my hand. Alas, he was too shy. And we just sat there and watched the movie, like good, innocent kids. Ah... young love!!! Back when the biggest drama of all was whether or not you were going to hold hands!
My personal favorite Starship 80's song is this:
