Isaiah 10:1-2. Woe unto them that decree unrighteousness decrees, and that write grievousness which they have prescribed;
To turn aside the needy from judgment, and to take away the right from the poor of My people, that widows might be their prey, and that they may rob the fatherless. Welcome to churchianity! Den of unashamed thieves! Devouring wolves with no natural affection, no conscience!

If you are tithing, you are sinning. You need to repent. And if you have no problem with the widows and poor tithing you are a monster. Repent now!
God owns your money, not an exalted hireling.
Wolves took over about 1700 years ago, as Paul said they would, and have been in control ever since.

The 'pastor' eats steak and plays golf while the widows and poor dig under the car seat for change. I know. I was forced to live like that while paying tithes for over 20 years. Living out of thrift stores, sweating bullets walking down the grocery isle because of little money after paying tithes. My kids still haven't forgiven me for that foolishness.
God told me to stop with the lie of the tithe and give as He leads me, mainly to the poor. Been blessed beyond belief ever since.

Ive talked to others that have tithed for over 30 years while the windows of heaven remained shut.

God was talking about rain on the crops, not money.

Stop tithing now. Quit sinning against Christ! Follow Him as He leads you to help those that need help, not those title bearing Pharisees that live in opulence off the widows! Being lavished with the praise of men, being adored while seated in the upper chamber(podium).

Proverbs 22:22-23. Rob not the poor, because he is poor; neither oppress the afflicted in the gate;
for the Lord will plead their cause, and spoil the soul of those that spoiled them.
spoil:Hebrew: Qaba: plunder, rob.
Every Sunday morning thousands of 'churches' are plundering and robbing the poor, the widows.
God said He is going to plunder the pastors for plundering the poor. Now argue with God about it. I'm just a low life messenger.

Gee, you'd think we were in 14th century Midieval Catholicism, where the majority couldn't read and if they could had no access to God's Word because the corrupt Church had kept it in a dead language...Latin.
Well hello? Today any poor (95% read) can go to a library or pick up a bible in the thrift store or free at most churches and read for themselves that giving isn't to be under compulsion, that they're free to give as their conscience leads.
But no, if they are slaves of the church, as you say, it is their own doing due to their ignoring God's Word.
Wisdom is not a government handout, they need to seek it in His Word.
True, God will deal with the leeching pastors but today the poor have little excuse to be duped.

Gal. 4:16 do I therefore become your enemy because I tell you the truth?
Why do pastors pull Old Testament scripture for tithes? Answer: because there is no NT scripture to support it.

Pastors will not search the word on this because it will end their financial support.

I don't care what they call it, tithes, offerings, love gifts etc., if they are worth it I try to support them...

1 Corinthians 9:7-11 (KJV)
7 Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock?
8 Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also?
9 For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen?
10 Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope.
11 If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things?

1 Timothy 5:17-18 (KJV)
17 Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.
18 For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.

You DO get tiresome, Jamison.
Any message of potential truth he might have is drowned out by the way in which he constantly shares it.

I wonder what the fruit of his railings are? Are people being changed by it, or just frustrated at yet another bitter post?

There is no compulsion to give anything. It is entirely up to the individual. If you are foolish enough to give when you cant afford it its down to you

Get a life dear boy, maybe play some golf and eat the odd sirloin steak (I like it with a green salad and chips/French fries)...

Chill out and don't take the burdens of the Church upon your shoulders, the Lord does that!

Well, it took a lot of work, but I DID see past most of what he was saying, to glean what he COULD have simply stated in the Self Defense thread. to make a decision about something a friend and I have been hashing out for about a year.

I think I agree with some of what you are saying but I'm almost afraid to because you're coming across extremely condemning. I imaging your heart is burdened for the poor, my heart hurts for them, too. But brother, if we were all sitting in a room together, I would wish you'd speak plainly and from your heart in Christ. I guess it's the way you're presenting the situation. You remind me of Nehemiah, "So I rebuked them and called down curses on them. I beat some of them and pulled out their hair. I made them swear in the name of God..." Yikes!

Of course, I know you have no intention of ripping anyone's hair out............... (do ya? ) Seriously, might there be a less confrontational way you can state your concern without scaring us away?
