No your right, he will move on and this poor lady can marry some ungodly jerk that will make her unhappy...good work :)
Just because her current relationship may not work out (depending on what God says) does not mean she will marry someone who doesn't love God.

I dated a good Christian guy, and we didn't get married. I've been single for almost 5 yrs because it is necessary.

In the end, and the most important part, is to be obedient to God. If He says no, then it's a no. If He says yes, then go for it.

I seen no reason at all from any of this ladies post to suggest that she should break up with this good and godly man and its really sad to see the women on this forum to try and promote that she breaks off her marriage....I think those who even suggested this should be ashamed.

Um.. it's not a marriage. They are not even engaged, from what I can tell.

I didn't read they're engaged.

Also, And maybe I'm misunderstanding, but I didn't read anywhere that someone suggested them breaking up. I think the advice we're giving is she ask God for direction. To obey what God says, not our feelings.

The boyfriend is a godly man, based on what the OP said, but with any major decision we make in life, God is to be the one directing our steps.

I 100% trust him. He is amazing and would never hurt me. He can lead well and provide. He keeps me on the right path spiritually and vice versa. Not much else I could ask for.
This is what she said...

Of course the conversation would be seen in context of marriage and it clear to me the great advice she got from some was to break-up if he wont surrender his principals and yield to her in some way.

Actually, breaking up with him is one of the options she is considering already, if you look back over her posts. If she decides that, we should be supportive of her decision, and trust that it was made for Godly reasons.

Of course and that's my point you all would give this sort of advice that might cost this girl her future when its clear your not looking to the truth of Gods Word to help her...its really sad this is the attitude of some of you.

God's word and will for us is to follow Him. For the OP, if God says marry the guy, then so be it. If God says no, then it's a no.

I just found this in a completely unrelated thread. Is this the denomination we're talking about ,Lion? Granted, this is in Egypt, I think... is it pretty similar?
Oh ..we are discussing the denominational issue...I didn't see any of you bring it up? If you girls was giving advice based on the difference in denominational beliefs or traditions? You should have made that clear.

I personally didn't pay any attention to the mention of Coptic Christian.

Yes that's the denomination. Sadly in Egypt they are being murdered all the time.

Sometimes it's hard to know what God is saying. I've learnt that he lets us lead a life that we want we just have to keep Him out main priority. Our main calling in life is to follow Jesus, to love and obey Him. Everything else is secondary.

For a long time I thought God was telling me to marry my boyfriend and he specifically put Him in my life. But now I'm not so sure..

Hey, Lion :) Well, after seeing that video on Coptic Christians, a couple of things come to mind. First of all, wow for them... in Egypt, and the situation with the muslims there.... just amazing what they have to go through.

Secondly... for a Christian woman living in America, I cannot see how a relationship with someone in this church would be advisable. Their pope (they have a pope!) said that they believe in martyrs. Maybe it's how middle eastern "martyrs" are seen in the media as crazed suicide bombers, but that's just something that we need to steer away from.

I do want to acknowledge that there is a huge difference between living in the US and living in Egypt. They DO have to deal with their churches being torched by muslims, which was shown in that video. I don't know, Lion, I just think it might be a better match, with more long-term happiness, if you find a young man in a church that you are more comfortable with.

Another comment made in the video was that they "believe in suffering," almost as if they endorse it as part of their lifestyle. I think you need to look seriously and prayerfully at this church. Is God really calling you to be a part of that?

Really trying to advise you here as best I can, please bear with me.

hi jenizona! Thank you so much for taking the time to help me. Unfortunately I couldn't watch that video because I'm not from the U.S. I'm from Australia. From what I know of the Coptic church here in Australia it isn't like what you are describing. I need to do more research into it and everything to make a more informed decision I think.

Thank you for your help!
