My friend's granddaughter is 6, and she came into the market last Saturday. She's such a cutie! They came in searching for clothes for her American Girl doll (one of my neighbors makes them). She was telling me ALL about the long-sleeved top she purchased because Caroline doesn't have ANY other long sleeved clothes, and it's going to be winter soon. So earnest.

No need but I appreciate it. Just wondering if there's a trick to getting parchment paper to unroll and lay flat on the baking sheet without wrinkling it all up, especially when you're down to the last quarter of a roll. Been making danish (snail) pastries and they bake the best on parchment, but they're pretty delicate when they're proofing so the paper needs to be smoothe and flat. Thx for any help.
what I do (depending on what I'm working with) is loosely roll the parchment in the opposite direction... typically works.
If it doesn't? I take a tiny bit of the dough/batter and put it on the bottom of the parchment in the corners just so it sticks a little bit.

The amount of hardships that people face is sobering. One of the series of photographs shows a man who took a loan for 5000 rupees (which is about 50 USD) for an ailing sister and was then caught in the horrible cycle of loan and debt.
The brick kiln owners charge exorbitant interest rates and people end up being trapped in these for generations. (Your debt passes to your children)
Unable to pay back his loan, this man saw his family being sold. It's not just Pakistan, but even India which might have all these terrible practices.
There is a huge divide between urban and rural life in these countries but the the point is there is just so much suffering in this world.
Even in the western world. The countless people who are homeless, living illegally or people without families...
Yes, we need to make a change and try to improve our surroundings but even as we do this we have to be so grateful for the blessings God has given us.
There's just somebody so desperate, in such worse conditions...can you imagine that there is someone out there who would do anything to be in the position you are in the world?
I don't know what each and every one of us is going through and neither can I pretend to. But I do know that learning to be grateful and thanking God for every blessing is one sure way for me to appreciate the life that God has given me.
