God DID say there are Teachers in the Church to teach us the Truths in the Scriptures. Does it matter if they are paid? Would you want to be a teacher in a Church as your job and not be paid for it?
Where in the Scriptures does God ever say people working in the Church cannot be paid?
It isn't a "job", wow. And yes it DOES matter if they are paid, it means their priorities are not in proper order.
The church is the body of Christ, not an institutional denomination, so it is entirely inappropriate to take wages for what God has called us to do.
Matthew 10: 8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils:
freely ye have received, freely give.
1 Peter 5:2 Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly;
not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
Also 1 Tim 3:3; 1 Tim 3:8; Titus 1:7
… and then Titus 1:10/11
10 For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision: 11 Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses,
teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.
Finally
1 Thess 4: 11 And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to
work with your own hands, as we commanded you; 12 That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.
Paul was a tentmaker
2 Thess 3:10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you,
that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
Ephesians 4: 28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour,
working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.
These things are commanded to the church of which we are ministers, all of us, or we are not the church.
