Of course we are pure in Jesus. Of course purity is expressed in us through the grace of God, after all, as workers together with God we don't receive grace to now working effect, we are effectually made manifestly pure. This is what the new birth and salvation is all about.

What is the point you are trying to make?

In your second to last post it appeared to me that you were attempting to spiritialise purity away as if it is something disconnected from what you actually manifest. In other words it seemed to me that you were promoting a concept that one could be "spiritually pure" because they "have their hope in Jesus" and yet at the same time be engaged in wickedness.

Were you promoting a disconnect between manifest conduct and being spiritually pure?

John taught that the children of God do not sin but rather that they DO righteousness because they are truly righteous. Of course this does not mean that a child of God does not misstep in the context of wrongdoing due to ignorance, rather it simply means that the heart is pure necessitating an always pure motive. In other words there is no rebellion to God.

Would you agree or disagree with the last paragraph I wrote?

I wrote what I see that passage saying...just as I said in the post. And I agree with what I wrote. I see it pointing us to Christ, who is pure...to setting our hope on Him, not on ourselves and some presumed holiness we might think we can manifest through self effort.

What is a "self effort"?

If I walk to the other side of the room is that a "self effort"?

What if I abstain fried chicken and instead eat baked chicked, is that "self effort" ?

What if I am to actually DO what Jesus said to DO. Is that "self effort"?

The Bible is replete with commands for people to "do something" and "doing something" by the very nature of the "doing" means it takes "effort."

I plainly stated the following...

John taught that the children of God do not sin but rather that they DO righteousness because they are truly righteous. Of course this does not mean that a child of God does not misstep in the context of wrongdoing due to ignorance, rather it simply means that the heart is pure necessitating an always pure motive. I then asked you specifically this question...

Would you agree or disagree with the last paragraph I wrote?

A question you purposefully chose to disregard in responding to my post. Instead you alluded to this thing you call "self effort" which you contrast against "setting our hope on him."

You clearly object to any notion of "obedience to God" being DIRECTLY AND IMPLICITLY connected to "faith in God." You clearly object to any notion that "true faith" MANDATES 'obedience."

Now are you willing to directly engage the substance of what I have written? Are you willing to directly engage the questions I ask?

We shall see.

Living by faith in Christ is our obedience.

Romans 7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

You just quoted a single passage completely out of its context in order to argue in favour of a salvation which leaves you wretched and still enslaved to the service of sin.

Jesus spoke of being "set free indeed" in the context of "he who sins is a servant of sin." It is a shame that people like you reject a salvation that sets one free indeed from the service of sin.

Living by faith in Christ is our obedience.

What does that even mean?

If you cannot bring yourself to actually discuss abstaining from wickedness and walking in holiness then what does "living by faith in Christ" even mean?

You trust Jesus whilst you serve the devil and take comfort in short platitudes?

Wow. Just wow.

So Paul was not free from the condemnation of sin?

Do you believe that this vile body of flesh can will not to sin?

Only a very unwise servant would look the Master in the face and say I have no sin.

What if we look at the word "free will" rather than the word "self effort".. a free will has a desire to serve God

1Jn 3:10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

The children of God are MANIFEST in that they DO righteousness. Very few professing Christians will contend for that truth because they do not believe it. Many professing Christians disconnect "doing" or "conduct" from "faith."

The faith of Noah produced an ark. If Noah had refused to obey God and build the ark then Noah would have demonstrated that he was unfaithful, ie. he would have demonstrated that he lacked faith. Likewise a professing Christian who refuses to obey God demonstrates that their faith is a lie, a mere mental concoction and lip service.

1Jn 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
1Jn 3:10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

Whoever is born of God does not commit sin. That means that those who are born of God do not engage in wickedness, they do not serve evil. If we are truly born of God then we are partaking of the divine nature and the divine nature does not produce wickedness.

This is why the children of God are MANIFEST to the world by their deeds. The children of God produce righteousness in their lives, not wickedness.

Satan has deceived the vast majority of professing Christianity with a fake Christianity where people think they are saved whilst they still serve Satan simply because they "trust" or "have their hope" in Jesus.

Noah could have professed to trust God or professed to have his hope in God all he liked but if he refused to build that ark then he would have perished.

Many in these latter days are going to perish because they refuse to repent, having been deceived into be.believing that repentance is a mere confession of sinfulness instead of being the forsaking of rebellion to God in our hearts.

Little children , let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous,
just as he is righteous. He who sins is of the devil , for the devil has sinned from
the beginning.
It is black and white, It takes practice, you can practice good or evil,
you can be the servant of sin, or the servant of righteousness

As it is written , choose this day.....

God has given me words as a gift to use.. I can use them carelessly OR knowing each one (first goes into God's ear) be more mindful of how and in what way I use them..I know for myself I'm more mindful of what he hears coming out of my mouth.. it is more important to me that he hears only good..because of how good his word has been to me... it's like that of a communal offering.. he gives , I've recieved.. the condition of what he's offered to me is of more value than gold . I want to hand it back in the same condition he's been so beautiful to hand it to me...

Empty platitudes devoid of substance. The reply I was expecting. People like you cannot engage directly, all you respond is with canned answers wrought from a very few oft repeated scriptures which are taken completely out of context.

Your first contention...
So Paul was not free from the condemnation of sin?
There is no condemnation for those whom are IN Jesus Christ whom walk after the Spirit.

One cannot be in Jesus Christ and not be walking after the Spirit. Paul wrote...

Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Rom 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
Rom 8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Paul undertands that FAITH is connected to FAITHFULNESS or WALKING AFTER THE SPIRIT.

The Spirit of life in Jesus Christ is what literally sets us free from the law of sin and death because when we are walking according to the Spirit it is impossible to be sinning unto death. Yet that is a concept you cannot possibly accept nor even discuss. The righteousness of the law is fulfilled in us whom WALK after the Spirit. If there is no "walking after the Spirit" then there is no "fulfillment of righteousness" in us.

What you do is appeal to the "wretched man" passage and pervert it into the description of the genuine Christian whom has been born again. In other words you treat the new birth as something that still leaves you wretched, filthy and still enslaved to sin, this you reject any notion that "all things" have been made new. It is a real shame.

Do you believe that this vile body of flesh can will not to sin?
You speak of the flesh body as if it has a mind of its own. The flesh body is subject to YOUR MIND and you are a slave to whom YOU obey.

Blaming sin on the meat of the body and concluding with a "I cannot help it" is to play the victim card and reject all personal responsibility. Jesus commanded people to be DOERS of the word, yet your claim, in effect, is "I cannot because I am in a flesh body."

The flesh in and of itself does not will anything. It is YOU who will to do or will to not do. A will set upon serving sin reveals a corrupt and evil heart. A will set upon serving God reveals a pure and good heart. The change of will from a service to evil to the service of righteousness is wrought through godly sorrow working a repentance unto salvation, and that salvation is not a salvation which leaves one wretched, filthy, enslaved to evil.

Stop blaming the meat on your bones for your rebellion to God. Take personal responsibility for it in repentance and forsake that rebellion and yield to God wholeheartedly. It is through DOING that that God will shed His love abroad in your heart by the power of His grace and you will be totally transformed. You will henceforth contend for VICTORY OVER SIN in Christ as opposed to ONGOING SERVICE OF SIN in Christ.

Remember the children of God are MANIFEST in that they do not commit sin. The children of God are MANIFEST in that they DO righteousness. That is what the Bible plainly says and little one liners, quips, and proof texts taken out of context do not change that.

Basically you cling to out of context proof texts and ignore the rest of the Bible. That methodology will ensure your destruction.

Only a very unwise servant would look the Master in the face and say I have no sin.
Again, another short quip where you appeal to a verse which you have perverted its context.

1Joh 1:8-9 is referring to initial repentance where we come clean with God. It is not a proof text for the ongoing service of evil in the Christian life.

If we say we have no sin means "no sin to our account" or in other words if we claim to be "not guilty of sinning." We have all sinned and rebelled against God.

If we WALK in the light as he is in the light then the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin. IF WE WALK. WALK = WHAT WE DO. WALK = OUR CONDUCT. WALK = ACTION.

1Jn 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
1Jn 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
1Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1Jn 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Think about the absurdity of how you twist that passage. You contend that you are always sinning and thus never free from sin, thus how have you been cleansed from all unrighteousness? How have you been cleansed from all sin? You claim that you are still filthy and still full of sin, which is the very opposite of being clean.

It is absurd.

This disconnect of FAITH from FAITH MANDATES DEEDS is so stupid and foolish. Faith is an ACTIVE PRINCIPLE whereby we are wholeheartedly yielded to God. If our hearts are not yielded to God then we do not have real faith. That is why James taught that faith without deeds is dead, James understood that FAITH and DOING are connected.

It is the word which cleanses us and in order to be clean we have to DO it. This the children of God are manifest in that they DO righteousness. It is so simple.

Indeed. Now look at the wickedness and evil you have spewed out against those you know not. What are you manifesting??

What wickedness? Contending that "doing righteousness" is connected to "genuine faith"?

Are you calling good evil here?

Snip a quote of mine which you think is wicked please instead of generalising. People like you appear to never wish to discuss specifics. Are you a troll on this board? Or is it just too uncomfortable to address specifics?

False Menu Christianity takes snippets of the Bible and layers it with rhetoric. Its adherents will operate complete within the paradigm of this "snippet rhetoric" and that is why they simply will never directly discuss the plain meaning of...

1Jn 3:6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
1Jn 3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
1Jn 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
1Jn 3:11 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.

Let us not be deceived by any person. He who DOES what is righteous is righteous. Those whom are not DOERS of righteousness are not the children of God.

Does that mean if one does not purify himself but lives and talks like a pig, that means he does not have that hope?

I know plenty of bible thumping, tongue talking, tithe paying, pew sitting, devil shoving, scripture quoting holy saints that spew the vile bodily function humor with impunity, with relish! Is that part of being pure? Is God tickled pink over poopy humor. Am I the bad guy again? I suppose! Start clobbering me! I'm use to it. I'm also right about it though I stand alone.
I can hear someone already 'Yet, you have a real problem blah, blah, blah, blah!' You bet, and its churchianity.

Churchianity is not Christianity.
