Yes! Please! :D

I've been trying to teach myself here and there, but I just...I dunno. I've improved some in the past year, but I get so discouraged when I ruin something that I'm all, what even is the point?! Bah!
After Cranberry, maybe you can come out! :D Or during the winter break here.

The point is, in your science, I mean cooking creations, you learn from you failures by analyzing what you did to see where you went wrong, then the next time you try, it will be less likely to fail.
Yes! Please! :D

Lil! I have an idea! I'll come over and clean for you, and you can share your coffee. Deal? ;)

Really though, you've been on my mind today...it's frustrating that I can't really be there to help ease your burden. I know advice and support from us here can only go so far, but I agree with the idea that your family needs to know how stressed you are and that talking to someone could be the best thing for you.

I pray things start getting easier, girlie *hugs*
Thanks, Cris ♥

Today I had a morbid revelation
When I move away and my dog is in my house still....
I would rather him die than to miss him and not be able to see him ever again...
But then again it makes me sick to my stomach just thinking about it.

Thank goodness for Jesus because he is a friend that will never physically ever leave you.
You can pray to him at all times
And in situations where you have no idea, he is there.
That's a very deep concept really.

There are too many things for me to think about, too many questions for me to answer, too many decisions for me to make..

Meh. -_-

But cooking is magic! :D :D

Earlier this week I tried my hand at a version of buttermilk chicken casserole without a recipe. I just threw some things in that seemed to go together. What came out of the oven was a really big buttermilk biscuit with chicken and potato bits in it. It was actually pretty good. Not at all what I intended, but pretty good. Next time I won't use even a quarter as much flour though.

So I had this crazy dream last night in which I had a newborn son with a guy I used to work with. Nothing crazy, just this setting where he was a teacher and he had to administer a test to his class, so the three of us (him, me, baby) all went along.

There was some kind of understanding in which I was trying to get some paperwork done and he knew I was feeling a little stressed out and also still recovering from having the baby, so he went about his job passing out tests and explaining things to students and teaching, all while holding the baby. He was perfectly at ease with a baby in one arm and carrying out all his work with the other so that I could get my own work done. And in the dream, this went on for a good "hour" or more.

I finally finished with my work and then went to him and said, "Ok, I can take the baby now," and he said, "Are you sure?" because he was concerned that I was taking on too much at once. "Yes, of course," I told him, "And you've done so much already... It's my turn to help," and as soon as I took the baby, I woke up.

I have to admit, I feel a bit wistful. It was an amazing feeling to have that kind of bonding with someone, if only for a few seconds in a dream.

(I know what some people will say :) -- "Seoul, it's a sign!" :) but no... this person isn't even a Christian and I haven't talked to him in 3 years. Additionally, the last I heard, he's probably married by now.)

It was just... an unfamiliar and yet enchanting feeling all at the same time.

Comments about how bad this forum is, or how snobbish or cliquey it is, are...getting kinda old. I can see why some people feel that way, but there have always been people who felt that way, no matter who was here or how "good" or "bad" the forum was. Not everyone is going to like or get along with everyone else all the time. But if this forum is so awful and so full of snobs, why even come here? Just to tell us all we're a big clique of jerks? Iiiiii don't get it.

*sigh* I guess I just don't see the purpose of saying something like that without also trying to find ways to make it better.

And the people who usually make these complaints have been members of CC for what, maybe a day or two? So clearly they know everything about the discussion forums and how everyone before them instantly became friends. Yeah. It gets old.

Often, yes. Though sometimes it's people who have been here long enough to become part of their own clique

I was called rude and cliquey the other day lol.

*shrugs* I know that's not who I am, so I didn't let it bother me. But, there's going to be people on here who have different perspectives, but doesn't mean it's factual.

Lynx are also loners. Much less stress that way. Ever seen a Lynx lying in a tree? There's a reason why he looks so relaxed.

Dear Self,

Your attitude stinks, and you're supposed to be washing the dishes. What are you doing on here? But since you're already here...

Relax. About cooking dinner tonight, I mean. I know it seems like a big deal, cooking for your MIL and her brand new boyfriend. I know it's a little irritating that nobody asked you if you were willing to do it. I know you think you just ruin every meal you make and that you think it's a bit soon for this new guy to be meeting family.

CHILL. It's all fine. So what if dinner turns out all wrong? So you end up having to feed everyone grilled cheese sandwiches. Big deal. Your MIL knows you're not a chef. YES, I know you wish she would have asked you about this first, get over it already, she's just excited. Can't You be a little, teensy bit excited for her, too? Come on, you can do it.

There. Doesn't it feel better to be calm and happy instead of grouchy and stressed out? Don't panic. You've got your towel.

...now go wash those dishes and have a cup of nasty coffee.

Sincerely,
Your Brain

Yes, that totally just happened.

...and then I find out, after trying to check but getting no answer...that 2 of the 4 people I'm cooking for won't eat what I was planning to make.

Nice to know three hours in advance.

New plan: catch one of the neighbor's chickens and set it on the table when people get here.

I'll be at a church thing this evening. It'll be a nice break from the stressful stuff.
