I'd say most of those suicides are precisely because people call them deluded, sick and crazy.

Four year old: "Mommy, I feel like a woman, not a man". Imagine how tough that feeling must be to deal with in a four year old, just on its own, without all the other social problems a kid has got. Then hear the response:

"Don't be silly. You're a boy. Stop that talk". His own parents won't even listen to him! My, my, parents that refuse to hear you as a genuine human. That's gotta be hard. How can you ever trust them with your honesty again?? Then see society's reponse:

"Yuck, look at the she-male". "Oh, he must be sick". "Get away from me, you wierdo!"

No friends, no family, nobody who understands you. Gender dysphoria and social leprosy. Certainly sounds like a recipe for suicide.

Maybe you should have some empathy.

If you were to look at my medical records, youd see that Im diagnosed with gender identity disorder. There was a time that I was all depressed about it and hated my life, and felt like no one cared and all that. But after being awakened and called by God, I realized it wasnt feeling I couldnt control, but an obsession I wouldnt let go of. I saw people who had something I wanted but didnt have, and even from a young age had set my heart on it. And growing up Id watch shows about people who actually changed their bodies and lived as the other gender (thank you Maury). And I set my heard on it even more. And when people would say things bad about people who were transgender, Id get angry and upset, and set my heart on it even more. But, none of this came from a gene I couldnt control, it came from an obsession over something I wanted that I let myself believe Id die for it.

Yeah, people become very sad over this. But, really. If someone is sad over what they dont have, is the right thing to really change all that is good in order to accommodate them to a small degree, or help them realize they just need to change their heart, and find ways to be happy with what they have?

Helping them see that happiness comes from allowing yourself to be content, and not from getting all that youve ever wanted, is not evil in anyway.

Had you changed your bodily appearance to fit your obsession, you would undoubtedly have found, as most successfully altered transgenders do, that it wouldn't have changed your mental health outlook. The depression, anxiety, and confusion would have continued.

As with obsessions over alcohol, drugs, gambling, porn, etc., the achievement of your goals would still leave you empty inside, because none of these obsessions are seeking to be satisfied by the objectives of the behavior. They are seeking to fill something missing inside them, and that "something" is a relationship with the Creator.

Running after things, running after self -- that won't fill that hole inside. Only Christ can do that. We give thanks to the Lord He found you and lifted you up out of your despair to make us your brothers and sisters.

Four year old: "Mommy, I feel like a woman, not a man"...

And if he says: I feel like a pony, not a boy? Oh well...

If this is the case, then how do you explain people who have had no sexual surgery, but have vaginas, breasts, high pitched voices, no facial hair, no penis, are unmistakably women on the outside, yet have an XY (male) sex chromosome?
]Since your definition of being "male" or "female" is that a male is XY, and a female is XX, this person must be a man, yet they reside in a woman's body. Explain how that fits into your "nobody is trapped inside anything" hypothesis?
The extra X chromosome causes an overproduction of estrogen in the body. Simple hormone treatment sets all that aright, and it is impossible to have "no penis" with an XY chromosome present. It may be recessed or underdeveloped, but its there, and can be surgically corrected.

So-called trangendered individuals are only trapped by their imaginations and ungodly obsessions (see Yeraza-bats' post, if you want to know what brave is in the face of obsession), not their DNA.

Thats actually a good point. Yeah, some people as kids decide they want to be the opposite gender. My older brother said he wanted to be a teenage mutant ninja turtle.

The fact that we did these things as little children does not make it more valid :p

Lets see ...kid slaps another kid upside the head with a bat and says I hate that kid...what do you do? Oh honey its fine ..you was born that way? Nope...you take a small stick and apply to backside until the child understands every thought they have is not a good thought.

A pat on the back develops character -- if administered often enough, young enough, and low enough.

Laron syndrome (sometimes called Laron-type dwarfism) is a growth hormone insensitivity that causes dwarfism, while androgen insensitivity syndrome is a female-sex-hormone insensitivity that causes people with the XY chromosome to be born with a vagina and no penis, and to develop breasts during puberty. Gonadotropin insensitivity is another disorder caused by a genetic mutation in the gonadotropin receptors, which means that no sex hormones can be synthesized in the ovaries or testes.

Here are what people with Laron syndrome look like.

And here are some people with an XY (male) sex chromosome, who have androgen insensitivity syndrome:

Still think it's in their heads?

If they were born with a vagina and not a penis, wouldnt that make them female?

And biological deformation is not the same thing as someone wanting to be something they arent.

This is my point. They have an XY (male chromosome), and are born with female physical characteristics. Are they male, or are they female?

It's not so black and white.

Again where is the place where folks are not supposed to obey God ..or where they are supposed to be sexual deviants?

Some are born as eunuchs it is written, and Jesus still loves them. It's good to keep them in mind as you have, that should not be overlooked I feel.

So does a child molester have a special chromosome?

But thats a deformation, and not someone who wants to physically change the body they were given to fit their own will. Its not the same thing.

Some make themselves or are made by others to be eunuchs and Jesus still loves them it is written. I get your points though, some just do it for vanity.

I'm honestly flabbergasted at how obtuse this question is.

Chromosomes are pieces of DNA that are supposed to direct the ways in which the body develops and grows to become a complete organism. Lots of diseases are a result of chromosomal abnormalities.. Down's Syndrome is probably the most famous one, but there are thousands of potential conditions. There are also thousands of potential abnormalities that cause all kinds of other conditions.

Androgen insensitivity is basically this:

The human body secretes varying levels of androgens (which are things like testosterone, which I'm sure you've heard of) and female sex hormones like progesterone and estrogen. When hormones are secreted in the human body, they are usually "sensed" by receptors in the cells which the hormones bind to. When the hormones bind to the receptors, chemical signals make the cells respond to them. For someone who has an XY chromosome (the male chromosome) there is more androgen (male hormone) secreted than estrogen and progesterone (female hormones). So, the cells respond to the higher levels of male hormones, and this leads to the formation of male genitalia in the womb, and during puberty it leads to: deeper voice, bigger muscles, facial hair, penile growth, descending of the testes, all the things associated with male puberty. But, in around 1 in 18,000 children born, the androgen (male hormone) receptors are broken, and the cells aren't able to sense it. This means that the male sexual characteristics don't develop. Instead, the hormones sense the female sex hormones and female characteristics develop.

So, chromosomally, this person will be XY (usually associated with being male. Both you and I have the XY chromosome), but they won't have developed any male sexual characteristics. They'll be born with a vagina, and during puberty they'll develop breasts, their voices won't break, and they won't develop facial hair, or the physique associated with being male. On the outside, they'll look totally female (and their bodies will respond to female hormones), yet they'll have the XY (male) chromosome.

If we weren't able to look at DNA, to know that the chromosome was XY, we'd all assume (from the outside) that these people are female.

So then your not trying to make an excuse for sexual perversion or sin?

Funny. Same government considers eye exams and dental work as "cosmetic," so we can lose our eye sight and all our teeth, but heaven forbid not being able to mutilate ourselves.

We used to buy our fresh produce from a huckster. (Hucksters -- people who sell produce in stands or trucks along the side of the streets in a city.) We got to know him pretty well after a few years, and then he disappeared. We ran into him half a year later in the grocery store. He lost his business from an abscessed tooth. The abscess broke off, traveled to his heart, lodged, and caused a heart attack. It wasn't covered because it came under "dental work."

Another friend had the lens in her eye come off. She and hubby are both disabled, but she's been denied 7 times. (Apparently you should be able to work without a hip bone.) Together they live on his $1400 a month Disability. Eye problems aren't covered, plus she's allergic to all anesthesia. She was awake when they sewed the lens back on, and they spent the next several years paying for that surgery.

Again, dental work and eye problems is cosmetic, but mutilation ought to be covered.

You're oversimplifying sex, and confusing it with gender. All foetuses have female characteristics to start with. If there's no Y chromosome in the embryo, the embryo will continue to be female. If there's a Y chromosome, testosterone begins to be secreted, but not everybody's body is equipped to respond to it properly. As per the above example, if the feotus is androgen insensitive (could be slightly, or totally), the testosterone has little or no effect, and female characteristics continue to develop, sometimes alongside male ones.

It's possible for a person to be born physically looking like a woman, but to be chromosomally, a man.
Yup, and sure enough, when that happens, it's covered with health insurance each and every time. So you're all for having our President decide what is already covered ought to be covered? Seems repetitive. But we both know that's not what he's saying.

There are also sexual polosomies, and monosomies. For instance, people can be born with 47 chromosomes instead of 45. They can have two, or three pairs of sex chromosomes, sometimes in different combinations. Normally, people born with a penis and testicles are 45XY, and people born with a vagina are 45XX, but that's not always the case.

People can be born 45XX and have male characteristics, they can be born 45XY and have female characteristics. They can be born 47XXX, 47XXY, 47XYY, 47YYY.

Sidenote: It's also statistically highly improbable that every ejaculation contains a perfect 50:50 distribution of healthy sperm (50% Y and 50% X).
The proper way of killing a snapping turtle for turtle soup is to entice the 25-30 pound turtle into biting the end of a broom. Once they bite, they don't let go, freeing you from the possibility of it biting you when you grab its tail.

Oh, sorry. I thought this was a not-related-at-all side show for this post, like you've done. I can actually give step by step directions all the way through without requiring copy-paste from a site online, if you'd like.
