Anyone who is indifferent about the cultural decline of Christmas should read A Christmas Carol again or at least watch one of the many film adaptations. There is something of the miraculous in that holiday. It reminds us of "Peace on Earth. Good will toward men." and how it is worthwhile to bless others in the same manner- with warmth and generosity.
It is, in short, a beautiful holiday with a beautiful message that, I think, does in some way sustain people beyond Christmastime and the "holiday season." It does for me, anyhow. Many of my fondest memories were from that special time of year.
If Christmas is not the center of the "holidays" then we've missed the entire point. Materialism, atheism, and a whole host of isms have done yet one more thing to steal our God given joy.
As for Starbucks- those who love liberty have had reasons to boycott them long before this.
