Is it self-righteous to tell a married man not to advertise for infidelity? Is it self-righteous to stand up for what the Bible says about marriage?

Many of you rise up against me when I show you what the Bible says. Yea, I forgive you for you are not speaking against me. Will the married now be given authority to exile the truly Single according to the Bible from the Christian Singles Sections?
Take it to the BDF..start a thread about it if you want. This thread is a knucklehead free zone.

Matthew 5:28 reads, "But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart." So if you've ever lusted, you've committed adultery. So are you now banned from marriage, since you have already committed sexual sin with a woman in your heart?

Are you living by the grace of Jesus Christ, or are you still under law? Are your sins washed away or are they not?

He's NOT advertising for infidelity. That's ludicrous to even suggest. He has stated more than once that he's NOT having sex, nor does he plan to.. Sirk meant for this to be a light-hearted thread. Let's keep it that way, ok?
Oh sure he said that AFTER my plea for him to not give up on his wife.

It is not a lighthearted thing to make a mockery of marriage.

He's NOT looking for a date.. He's TRYING to make it through the divorce he's currently going through, so lay off him, okay?

I was considering reporting him..but the scripture that comes to mind is not standing in the way of a sinner.

If you want to get technical with law, if you've ever lusted after a woman in your heart, by your own words of judgment you are married to her. And if you are married, what are you doing in a singles thread?

Show us where he's making a mockery of marriage. I'm fairly sure he DIDN'T want the divorce. SHE DID. Sirk loves his wife and kids, and surely his divorce is having a profound effect on him, but I wouldn't call it mockery of marriage.

It is one thing to express one's opinion on a matter. But to continue to judge and offend someone and ignore warnings to stop will merit a ban from CC because it's breaking the rules.

Christian Chat Rules:
2. No conduct that is offensive or counterproductive to fellowship.

We like to welcome all to Christian Chat, but if anyone is not here for fellowship (or for wanting to know about Christianity), but simply for disrupting fellowship, offending people, whatever, then that person is not welcome.

I've asked him nicely to lay off. If he continues.... he is willfully sinning against me. I do not like the way he is treating me. It is unkind. If he wants to join in this thread and be nice I welcome it. If he cannot...I'll decide what to do after me and my wonderful son get back from having a blast at the grocery store. :)

I'm not married, perhaps I never will be, and if that is the will of God, then it is just. Nor am I advertising myself for dates here. But truly it is in the NT, even the Gospels, that saith remarriage is adultery.

It is also in the NT that says much on this subject namely 1 Corinthians 7. What, would you all call Paul self-righteous and thrust him from you too for speaking truly? If the words of Jesus and Paul are not true then be the first one to track me down and stone me to death with stones therewith.

1 Corinthians 7:25-35

[SUP]25 [/SUP]Now concerning virgins I have no commandment of the Lord: yet I give my judgment, as one that hath obtained mercy of the Lord to be faithful.
[SUP]26 [/SUP]I suppose therefore that this is good for the present distress, I say, that it is good for a man so to be.
[SUP]27 [/SUP]Art thou bound unto a wife? seek not to be loosed. Art thou loosed from a wife? seek not a wife.
[SUP]28 [/SUP]But and if thou marry, thou hast not sinned; and if a virgin marry, she hath not sinned. Nevertheless such shall have trouble in the flesh: but I spare you.
[SUP]29 [/SUP]But this I say, brethren, the time is short: it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none;
[SUP]30 [/SUP]And they that weep, as though they wept not; and they that rejoice, as though they rejoiced not; and they that buy, as though they possessed not;
[SUP]31 [/SUP]And they that use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away.
[SUP]32 [/SUP]But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord:
[SUP]33 [/SUP]But he that is married careth for the things that are of the world, how he may please his wife.
[SUP]34 [/SUP]There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband.
[SUP]35 [/SUP]And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction.

I don't think GodIsSalvation was meaning those words in a harmful way...sometimes it's difficult to express what you want to say in a loving matter. Sirk, you know you're a really cool guy and you shouldn't feel bad about yourself. Whatever happened is between you, your wife, and God. Don't let others pull you down. We all love you here, brother!

But at the same time I don't think we should be pulling GodIsSalvation down either. I mean if he meant well and now everyone is attacking, don't you think he feels bad now? I think when others post things we don't agree with we shouldn't attack them. Maybe just ignore them? I dunno...

I will say one thing, Sirk you are not one with the problem here. Does it really matter what other people think? No, as Molly pointed out its between you all and God. You have an awesome support system here full of wonderful people who are praying for God's strength to help you through this time and allow God's will to be done because no matter what may come of it you are the only one who will have to live with whatever may happen.

Dude, calm down lol. There's a difference between giving Biblical advice when asked and attacking someone. You came across as judgmental out of nowhere so that's why you got the responses you did. Just shrug and move on to the next thread.

Amen to Molly and Cmarieh. Love covers all wrongs.

You can drop it. It is the will of God to have peace among brethrens. I get your point coming from someone with parents that miraculously got together as well. Everything is different from our perspective, especially since we haven't experienced it. What you know they might not know. What they know you might not have any idea. Show some grace, it's what people need. Not the law all over again.

Now where were we. Ah yeah okay. Single woman looking for a, well not looking for a man right now but looking for people who will not get annoyed by my usual antics and questions about music. A music director would be nice ;p And we will be bffs forever.
