You can get 0.025, 0.05 or 0.1 %. The 0.1% is potent stuff!

You don't necessarily have to get the straight vitamin A cream; the technology used in OTC products is becoming more and more advanced for better potency, efficacy and tolerance. Strivectin cream, for example, uses potent retinol, but they also pair it with a patented molecule called Nia-114; this molecule significantly increases the performance of whatever ingredients it's paired with. So, another cream can have the same amount of vitamin A, but because of the Nia-114, the vitamin A in the Strivectin cream is three times more effective.

It's only a little pain & the results are awesome. I'm talking about the straight cream though, not a face wash or cream that has retinol in it. You can handle it, lol.
A little bit of pain and you get to look like AnneNoel?! Pretty convincing!

Hey Skittle,

Quick question... I know we've talked about skincare a bit but since there's a lot of interest in this thread... What is the order in which you should apply these products? It all gets so confusing.I'm guessing they should be applied in this order?

AM:

* toner (See? You finally talked me into getting a toner. :))
* serum
* sunscreen
* moisturizer

PM:

* toner
* Retinol
* serum (or should it be serum first, then Retinol?)
* moisturizer

Also:

1. What do you think of peptides? I've seen peptide sprays and creams? Where would this go in the order of products?
2. Is there anything else I should add to my routine? (I exfoliate about once a week because of sensitivities.)

for my age, I would say that I have the about the least amount of age-spots than anyone I know...
what I try to do is just keep a half lemon on the kitchen counter because of location,
and some fresh aloe also, so that when I wash my hands or am just at the sink,
I can rub both on...I also put both on my face and I don't have any age-spots there and I must say
that most of my life I have been out in the sun, usually with a hat but many times not....

AND, for those un-welcome 'skin-tags' etc., (TeaTree oil), 'available at wal-mart' for about $8.00
for a 2oz. bottle, if you put this on regularly, it does remove them, at least for me...

we so welcome all of the shared knowledge and remedies...

This reminds me of some things I read about Korean skincare routines...8 to 10 steps, and so intricate! (Im definitely not disciplined enough to do 10 steps every night) I've become a big fan of the sheet masks, though, they give my face a fresh, dewy feeling.

AnneNoel, perhaps they may be willing to adopt a skincare regimen, complete with face masks, exfoliation, eyecreams, serums, and oils :D

These are sheet masks! (Sorry if image size is obnoxious, I can't tell what's normal sized on my kindle)
