I realize this question is, at best, is absurd. It is up to the individual. I mearly titled it this to get the opinion of others, maybe the positives and negatives for using it, as it concerns to Christians. [note this is not an attempt to connect with others on Facebook and please refrain from doing it in the post, if I may go as far to ask that]Without passing judgment, IYO, what are some of the pro's and con's for using Facebook? e.i. contact with friends and family, socialization, fill free time...As well as cons, time management, lack of privacy, etc. Thanks for your $0.02!

Hi there :)

I have never personally used face book or had an account.

Other people's comments about it, work, family, friends etc have
totally put me off. I may be wrong but it appears as if 90% of
its use concerns buying, selling, advertising and gossiping about
others. To the degree that whole neighbours seem to get to know
a person's business.

If there was a way to effectively spread the gospel via face book, or
if anyone can share positive experiences about using it, then I might
be persuaded to give it a go. But the negative seems to out weigh the
positive.

There is a lot of deceit for us men of Christ in this spiritual war. For instance, I have sent many messages out to friends and according to Facebook they didn't even read them. When in fact I know some of them did. Also one needs to use great discernment because while there may be wolves in sheep's clothing on there, I have seen posts on people's walls that they never would post.

I find I have more issues with family members on Facebook than I do with friends or subscribing to a page. Just keep the negative out of your page and facebook can be an awesome tool to witness.

Why not use FB. Like most things, it can be used in harmful ways or helpful ways.

Yes. It's a good platform to spread the Gospel and share God's Word. Just guard your mind and heart while you're there, as with anywhere else. :)

I do not have a Facebook or any other media account except for CC. Personally, I don't see anything wrong with it but for me it holds little or no value in my life.

The majority of the stuff I post on FB is all Bible verses, or Christian music, or basically anything to do with God and Jesus. I try to keep it positive, cause FB can be so full of negativity. A lot of the friends I have on there are not Christian; it can be a great witnessing tool :)

I'm surprised to find this post, I just deleted my Facebook, a few weeks back. Deleting it is what led me here, I wanted social interaction still, but with other people that loved God as much as me & wanted to share my love of him. There was so much negativity & worldliness on my Facebook. It was making me depressed and feeling down a lot. It may sound silly to some people, just being honest here...& I know that I wouldn't have found Christian Chat if I had still been on my Facebook...

Sorry I'm doubling up on posts here...

Though I should add whether or not I use Facebook...

I don't...As far as Facebook is concerned I don't even exist, I am way off the grid!

Did any of you see in the news how the person who created or one of the people who created Facebook gave 99% (45.5 Billion) of shares/earnings to charity! ----To date the largest act of philanthropy to DATE---(Besides Christ's sacrifice on the cross of course, which is no comparison)

If anyone deserves to get rich off of Facebook it's this guy!!!!!!!

Thoughts?

I am on it only to keep connected to my children abroad, and to share bible stories or biblical post! Other than that, I find it useless!

My advice- stay off of facebook as long as you can. Only go back to it kicking and screaming out of professional necessity.

I hate it.
