Colossians 2:16-17 (NASB)
[SUP]16 [/SUP] Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day—
[SUP]17 [/SUP] things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ.

All the Old Covenant things are shadows are things to come..Jesus!..He fulfills all feasts, new moons, Sabbaths..all the law
So one interpertation of one verse trumps all these:

1 John 2:3-6
Acts 17: 2-3
Revelation 14:12
Revelation 12:17
Hebrews 4:9-11
John 15:10
Hosea 4:6
Isaiah 29:13-14
Proverbs 28:9
Colossians 2:16-18
-and yes I put this one here too because it could mean don't let anyone judge you because you keep the sabbath
Romans 7:21-22
Romans 2:12-13
Isaiah 66:22-24

Ok...prove that the bible talks about baseball....

This is why I told you once before that you are going to always be led around like a blind person if you do not learn to go find the (often) many places where a subject is discussed in the Bible, and learn to put together the total and combined thinking presented to us.

Remember how I told you I could "prove" just about ANYTHING to you in the Bible by independently selecting only the verses I want to?.......... and then I said I could turn right around and "prove" just the opposite by selecting OTHER isolated verses?

It's talking about the law and the sabbath is included in the law.

That is the law of moses. There is a difference.
What were the exact words the accusers asked Jesus when they brought the woman caught in adultery? Were they not...... "The law of Moses says to stone her, what do you say?"

Maybe I got that wrong?

Its a strange thing, but it is supposed to be an equal trinity. If one third of the trinity got the prominence he should have, no one would be following after the letter. That is testimony to him being almost the forgotten member of the trinity

But we aren't talking about the law of Moses. We are talking about the ten commandments which is totally seperate.

You are doing a fine job of proving that we don't have to follow the law of Moses but can't seem to prove anything about the ten commandments...

Hello JF,

The ten commandments, along with the other 600 plus laws are all considered to be the Law of Moses. Everything that was given to Moses by God while in the Sinai desert belong to the Law. Every requirement written in the first five books of the OT belong to the law of Moses. You cannot separate the ten commandments from the Law. If you trust in your keeping of the ten commandments or any other works as requirement for salvation, then you are not trusting in Jesus as the One who alone provided salvation. He met the righteous requirements of the law on our behalf rescuing us from the curse of the law, because law brings wrath for those who try to keep it.
The ten commandments are not the law of moses. Where does the Bible clearly state that the ten commandments is a part of the law of Moses?

Also if people had looked up that Deutoronimy and Revelation verses maybe that would shed some light on the topic....

Not trying to be rude, but it's just ignorant to think the 10 commandments aren't the law of Moses.

Owe nothing to anyone, except to love one another, for the one who loves someone else has fulfilled the law. For the [commandments], “You shall not commit adultery, you shall not commit murder, you shall not steal, you shall not covet,” and if [there is] any other commandment, are summed up in this statement: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does not commit evil against a neighbor. Therefore love [is the] fulfillment of the law. Romans 13:8-10

Hello JF,

I provided the following for you in another post on this thread:

""The LORD said to Moses, "Come up the mountain to me, and while you are here, I will give you two stone tablets which contain all the laws that I have written for the instruction of the people."

You cannot separate the ten commandments from the law of Moses, for they are apart of the rest of the 600 plus laws that God gave to Moses for Israel. Please see post #32 on this thread.

But look who wrote them. Was it God who wrote the ten commandments or Moses?

God wrote and gave all 600 plus laws to Moses to give to the Israelites. Moses is not the author of any those laws, buy God is. Those laws that God gave are referred to as "The law of Moses."

Did God write those 600 on stone tablets and require for them to be carried around in a fancy box wherever the isrialites went? That would be heavy!
