Willie why do you always find a way to defend the wicked and accuse the righteous ...folks who do these kind of crimes, need to earn the trust of others and none of them have some special right to demand anything from anyone..real Christians will first protect the flock ..the children and find a place for any sincere person... This left-wing nonsense has no place in the Church of God.

I guess it has just been too much of reading of Jesus' example.

...and some of these offenders could probably teach us a thing or two as well :)

Where do you guys go to church? If the church you go to needs sex offenders as a moral example ..then i suggest you find and join a real church.

This Jesus?

Mt 18:5 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.
6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones w
hich believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
7 ¶ Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!
8 Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.

Anyone that don't think the Lord wants us to protect the Children in His Church to the best of our abilities ...has never known Christ.

Lesserthanall, I wonder why you say nothing in regards to what you posted, and what others are sharing? Are you just seeing how others will will debate it? I hope you don't leave your campfire unattended! :)

I don't think that's what he's saying. What I do believe he's talking about is how a sex offender, who has served his time, who has turned to Christ, who has sought God, and who has turned from his wicked ways; would have learned a great deal during this time of growing in Christ and may have some insights to offer. :)

I asked this because I am a registered sex offender. It happened about 25 years ago and about 15 years before I was a christian. The first church I went to said I was not able to attend because of my past. How would Jesus have answered if He was asked this question. I believe in change. People can change and God can change people. If my past offends you, I ask you to not be hateful towards me. It's near impossible to hate what I have done more than me. Guilt and shame have riddled my life since then. I am an active member in my church (though do nothing with the children's ministry just to prevent a false perception). I help other ex-sex offenders find housing and jobs. If Christs' blood does not cover ALL sins, then I am worshipping the wrong God. If YOUR Christs' blood doesn't cover all sins, then maybe you are worshipping the wrong God as well. I say all this to be upfront and not try to keep my past in the shadows. Christ is a bringer of light and I choose to walk in the light. Love me or hate me, I'll be in heaven some day.

So you could have had fellowship on this forum and no one would have ever ask about your history...instead you came here to stir up a issue you knew would cause contention and strife because folks try to balance our desire to forgive with our desire to protect children... Im not sure i would want you in my church, not because of your past..but because of what you are now.

Mitzpa, are you saying that sex offenders have committed an unforgiveable sin?

I think your seeing what you want to see in that post?

Being upfront and honest about my past is not stirring up strife. A sex offender Hiding behind a computer and not telling someone what they were is a danger to everyone.

Your past does not offend me, because you are truthful with what you did..I just feel if a church denies you, find one that welcomes you, unless you are saying all have denied you?

Yes ...instead of allowing folks to get to know you and about your relationship with Christ...you come and start this thread knowing folks would be conflicted between showing mercy and protecting children....you knew what you was doing and i know what you was doing...

Well, I would more than welcome a good man like you to anything.... my church, my company, and my house.
