EG I understand something that you don't understand... I'm sorry, that's the way it is. I tried to show you through the "hearing" example but you didn't get it. All bibles are not equal, all bibles are not alive, all bibles don't have the voice of God. The bible is written in symbolic language... if you destroy the symbolic words like the newer translations have done you destroy the voice... that's just the way it is.

That's what the RCs said about the Vulgate.

It is utter nonsense to suggest that 17th century English conveys God's word in a better way.

No you do not understand anything that I do not. I told you I came from your fantasy world. so you have not, and will not tell me anything I have never believed myself at one time.

Jesus did not speak in King Jimmy language, in fact if the greek was interpreted as it really is, and not in a "word to word" format the king jimmy uses, it would be far more poetic, far more complete. and about twice the size as the bible you worship as an idol.

But you will never see this as long as you are blinded by what you have been taught. And thats truly sad.

I am sorry, But I came out of your cult. and have no desire to be held back by it again, its dangerous. and not of God.

On the whole most Bibles are 'equal', most are alive, most are the voice of God, but only when they are taken by the Holy Spirit Who speaks to us through them.

The bible is a book. It contains the word of God. It is not the word of God. Jesus is THE WORD of God!

Is the bible the image of God?

The bible is the Word of God !!!

Without the Holy Spirit His word can not be understood, as a person without the Holy Spirit would be reading it with a carnal mindset.

The carnal mind can not understand God's word !!!

The Holy Spirit abides in us, not the book.

You are making the bible the temple of God, when it is us believers who are the temple.

How do you know if you're being led by the Holy Spirit or another spirit?

There are many statements in the bible that are truly stated but it does not mean they are statements of truth.

Well..there are tons of them,..but I will just give you the first one that showed up..and you'll have to find out the others bu the Holy Spirit.
Genesis 3:4 (NASB)
[SUP]4 [/SUP] The serpent said to the woman, "You surely will not die!"

It is truly stated that the serpent said that...but we know it was not a statement of truth....we need to "rightly divide" ( King Jimmie talk " the word of truth.

Can you give an example of a statement in the bible that's not truth?

How do you know if you're being led by the Holy Spirit or another spirit?

Because He can not lead one against the ways of God.

If the spirit is leading a person in disobedience to Jesus teachings than it is not the Holy Spirit.

The Spirit and Word of God has to work together hand in hand.

If the spirit is leading a person to live or make it okay to continue living a immoral lifestyle, I only have one thing to say:

Run and stop listening to that spirit, for that is not God's way !!!

Rightly divide the word!

Don't mix the covenants!

be open to learn from the Holy Spirit who has many ways to reveal truth to us.

If you want to see people using "God's Word" to say what "Jesus is saying".....go to the thread "Speaking in Tongues"

Obviously you don't understand the code.

Do you have a KJV decoder ring:rolleyes:

Seriously, I like the KJV Old English language a lot.

But you need to stay in the real world with it.
You guys are doing more to make yourselves look like a bunch of idolatrous kooks than your opponents in this thread are.

Not to sound sarcastic, but you do realize somethings from the OT still apply ???

Jesus and Paul both referred back to the teachings in the OT at times for understanding.

This doesn't mean both covenants apply to us, but we must not apply scriptures speaking on the written law to refer to the whole OT.

Acts 15 for one speaks of things we are to still adhere to.

We can certainly learn things from the OT.... ( a lot of it is what NOT to do..lol )

.but if you went by the OT alone..you would not know the Father as Jesus said..no one knows the Father except Me and who I reveal Him to... so whatever concept we get from the OT does not accurately reveal the Father to us

The OT is Jesus concealed.

The New Covenant is Jesus revealed.

All the Law and the prophets and psalms speak of Jesus. All OC teaching has to be filtered through the cross and the finished work of Christ on our behalf. If this is not done....we end up mixing the covenants and we end up with a mixed-gospel.

I love reading the OT.

The story of Jacob/Israel is a beautiful picture of how to live the Christian life!

All scripture is progressive in the facet that we grown in the knowledge of the grace of Jesus our Lord and God our Father!

If we read the OT without the filter of the revelation of Jesus and what He has done for us we end up with a lot of religious garbage handed down to us for years . Just think what Luther had to endure to say " The just shall live by faith. We are saved by grace. "..The current religious system in place for 100's of years branded him a heretic. Imagine what he must have had to go through?.. Wow ...the grace of God was in manifestation in him!

Berthren ...the fact that we are even discussing that one translation of the manuscripts is the only word of God means...that our spiritual ignorance has gone to seed!

We need to give our religious heads a shake and come out of the fog![/QUOTE In the mouth of two or three witnesses ,let every word be established. The Father bore witness to Jesus works and his doctrine, the Holy Spirit bears witness in our hearts, the word bears witness to the truth, the creation bears witness to God's glory and righteousness,God's children bear witness that we the sons of God being formed into his image.

You're almost right, we do need to "rightly divide". We need to know if the verse is talking about mans day or God's day. Obviously Adam didn't die in the 24 hour period after he ate the fruit so the verse is talking about God's day.
