Today was one and I sort of hit the wall. This week I worked around 50 hrs AND moved everything I own into a new house....by myself and my 8 year old. Washer/dryer furniture...you name it...I moved it. I'm glad I had my boy for moral support. Back hurts....tendonitis in my right arm from lifting. Ya....I almost melted down once but I pulled myself together. I'm sort of whining but am extremely grateful.

finding strengths that we didn't know we possessed are always blessings in disguise -
your son must think that you are 'super-man'!

Extreme stress in a highly physical job at work. Taking a couple days off to see my family. Once the holidays are over I am going to start looking for another job. I will not miss the one that I have.

I call that the "no choice" clause. Many things I've gone through that I absolutely didn't want to go through, simply because God gave me no choice.

I hope you were smart enough to have "the important box." Every time we moved, we saved one box for everything needed immediately -- coffee, soda (he drinks coffee, I drink soda), underwear, (as long as I have clean underwear, I'll wear the same grungy clothes two days in a row after a move), deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, toilet paper. sheets for the bed, and everything needed for one shower. We were set to sleep that night and wake up fine the next day. And that night -- if needed two nights in a row -- we either ate out or ordered in.

The first day in the new place was spent relaxing as much as possible. (Impossible to not open a box or two, and set some furniture in place, but the move day is so ACK! the relaxing day is important.)

But, seriously? Tendonitis in your right arm? Are you sure that's not from playing your guitar too much?

Hey Sirk, I've been there, though without my son for support. I made a similar move twice. No fun!

Father, please bless Sirk with the rest, healing and peace that he needs. Help him to find these things in You, and bless him with good times with his son. May Your presence fill his new home. And please give him wisdom, that he would know how much to take on at a time. In Jesus' Name.

Just sending some support your way. Nothing worse than physical pain to make things worse. Just ask me on any day!

You are blessed that you have a new home and your son. And that you will recover from all this hard lifting. Did you have anyone to help with the big stuff? My husband moved us completely in Jan. It was -39 C the two days we moved and he wouldn't wear gloves because it was too hard to move the boxes. We did get my cousin on one end to help with the big stuff, and my SIL and her husband to help on this end.

I guess you could say that I provided the moral support your 8 year old did!

Anyway, the job is done, and now settling in is the goal. Just take it a day at a time, and you will get there! (Says the person who still hasn't unpacked all the boxes, because there is no place to put stuff, and I couldn't find my Christmas music this year. But it was ok, I just played by ear. I guess all those Christmases of playing the same carols the music is embeded in my brain!)

Do you think I need a new avatar Blue? I kinda like that one. It sort of expresses my personality somewhat. Lol

sometimes it's just about us seeing us and wanting us to complete the circle...
feeling good about ourselves is in our dna, and wanting approval and acceptance
is paramount to our survival, but of course, it has to be grounded and planted in
Him.....

Blue, I barely recognized you! What is this world coming to, when people change their avatars so you don't know who they are!

Wait! We're supposed to unpack all the boxes after a move? We moved in 1991. Last winter our neighbor and we had a gas leak so the gas company had to replace some pipes. That's when I unpacked the last box. Ends up half of it I could throw out.
(My writings from my teen years, but some was published, so still couldn't throw them out. Also found my high school and college diplomas. No reason in the world to keep either, but I did anyway.)

oh yes,

in order to move forward and advance in our Father's Will, we really have to 'let-go of old-man's stuff'.....

un-warrented grief is ex-cess 'baggage' that we must learn to leave behind with our 'old-man' -

so grievious to our egos...but so beneficial to our 'walk in Christ'.....

Hellllllllllllllloooooooooooooooooo, Sirk! Are you still there? If so, congratulations. You have survived your first week in the new place. I'm assuming you still have lots and lots of boxes left, but have you gotten all the way to the point where you need something often, you can find that? Maybe the lemon squeezer is gone forever, but you know where the coffee pot is. lol
