you fail to understand the cross. By it I have been crucified to the world, and the world has been crucified to me. It has had an actual effect in my life.
It has changed my life. It is not just an eternal truth. You just use truisms which are meaningless. wake up.

Jesus is my Grace. He paid for it with his own life..
I think people would understand easily what it meant if we explained it to them.
I wonder why you are asking these questions? Which part of the christian tradition do you come from?
Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God. He is the source of all life and existence. He died and rose again and deposited His Spirit in my heart as a reassurance of His love which walks with me every day.
I have been taught through His spirit and Jesus's words and example what love is. He showed me how to set my love free and build a mature loving life full of expression, grace and truth.
Jesus took my sins upon the cross as a sacrifice so that I might be forgiven and walk in the Kingdom.
What is interesting for me is to learn how far people can stray from these realities and still have communion with the Lord.
For some it would appear they are not what they seem. But it does not surprise me, as this walk is one of walking in the light and in the darkness much is hidden.

Amen. The cross changed your life, it changes mine everyday. I am sorry if by expanding on reality for you it takes away something and does not add to it. Your wake up, is slightly miss-placed but then maybe you only understand bible language of the deep south.
Taking me from one state of glory to another. As I see needs I meet them as the Lord convicts me.

How can you claim to know God when you can not understand the basic premise that being made alive in Christ is to be spiritually united as one with him? We become his adopted children, a father and his child are one.. united..
If your not united with God, your dead, and the things of God are foolish to you.. Maybe this is the issue?

I agree with you, this would interest me to. Except for the last part. I do not think they ever had communion with the lord. If they did, and had everything you just said, they would never walk away, It is God who empowers them, And keeps them, Only those who are fakes or impostors would ever walk away, because they have not experienced Gods true love and power.

When Christans speak of the cross in this context, we are not just speaking to the material cross, but to the total theological significance of the cross...the "finished work" of Jesus Christ....inclusive of His death, burial, resurrection, ascension, Pentecostal outpouring and all of our future and last expectations.
David in the Psalm would have said it. He personalized everything about God. He said "my high tower - my shield - my rock - my salvation - my fortress - the strength of my heart - my portion - my refuge - my hope - my trust - my light - the stronghold of my life - my shepherd - my deliverer - my cup - my lamp.
Being under the New Covenant, I encapsulate all these things into "you are my grace". And I can now also say "Jesus is my righteousness".

Perhaps what I have posted in my own OP will help some of you who may be at a loss in understanding the question or point put forth.
Many folks attempt to use Paul's letters in order to debunk obedience being necessary, even though we live in grace. Perhaps these folks will explain the following from the Epistles:
1Ti 1:9
Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
The law is NOT made for the righteous man, ratehr for the lawless and disobedient. Now by virture of the content of the quote and its meaning in proper regard, those who are righteous are not lawless nor are they disobedient.. Now being not lawless nor disobedient cannot be interpreted as anything other than what it states.
Righteous people, family in Christ, are obedient and they are lawful. This in absolutely NO manner says these people are "under the law," as those lacking in education of the Word would say. Please learn this, for your eternity does depend on knowing this in the heart, soul and mind.

The grace of God will "instruct us"...

This is so in line with the teaching of Jesus Christ, His sermon on the mount, His teaching on obeying the commandments etc. We are converted from the old disobedient and lawless to obeying our Heavenly Father, and it is always good to obey from the heart a, soul and mind. I know I am unworthy to be called a child of God, yet, because of the grace He has given us all, I am, and this in itself is a great miracle. We owe, it is our due, to bei in our Father's well as well as we are given. Praise Jesus Christ now and forever, amen.
Amen!..obedience is a natural by product of the life of Christ in us....we love walking with our Lord!
That's right..we have a new heart ..we are a new creation in Christ...it's His life in us that is bearing the fruit of obedience....we are the branches..His "Vine life" flows out to us effortlessly and bears fruit because we are in union with the One who is always faithful!
We become obedient to the faith.. believing in Jesus..
