Here is another part to it...

We are definitely to show outwardly what we are in our new creation in Christ. We do not do "holy" things to become holy. We do not do righteous deeds to become righteous. Doing these good deeds or actions are simply a "fruit" of our union with Christ.

As Peter says..

1 Peter 1:14-16 (NASB)
[SUP]14 [/SUP] As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance,
[SUP]15 [/SUP] but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior;
[SUP]16 [/SUP] because it is written, "YOU SHALL BE HOLY, FOR I AM HOLY."

This is why we need to hear the gospel of the grace of Christ everyday so that we "become outwardly who we already are in Christ now"

This is what believers in the grace of our Lord Jesus have to say about "sanctification"..the word itself means = "to be set apart"

We are perfectly sanctified in Christ now....very true....we as an identity the new creation in Christ will never be more holy....however there is a "sanctifying" of our behavior that is on-going that reflects our true nature in Christ...so in essence...we are becoming outwardly who we really are in our inner man which is in Christ.

God sets apart ( sanctifies )our attitudes and actions outwardly but you are 100% set apart ( sanctified ) as a person..the real you in your inner man..the new creation in Christ.

Hebrews 10:14 (NASB)
[SUP]14 [/SUP] For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified. ( this is present passive..passive is that something is being done to you ...the Spirit of the Lord in us changing us. )

Here is what Jesus told Paul on the road to Damascus....having been sanctified ( perfect passive )..= done deal

Acts 26:17-18 (NASB)
[SUP]17 [/SUP] rescuing you from the Jewish people and from the Gentiles, to whom I am sending you,
[SUP]18 [/SUP] to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the dominion of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Me.' ( perfect passive )

Sanctification to our "religious minds" could mean a lot of different things to different people as it depends on the religious beliefs formulated from our backgrounds....like no doing the "biggie sins"...no smoking..no drinking..no going to church..no reading your bible every day..no praying for an hour each day.....no going to a movie...reading a newspaper...no being a servant of God...the religious with the D.I.Y self-righteousness/holiness mindset say...no doing "what I don't do.."....
Yes and that 'sanctifying of our behavior' involves confessing our sins.

They are forgiven but it doesn't mean God doesn't bring us under conviction for committed sins.
Oooh, I should be doing something else right now, but crossnote, I have to ask:

Why would God/His Holy Spirit convict you of sins that He has clearly stated that He is not holding against you?
16 So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer.

17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:

19
that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them.

And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (from 2 Cor. 5)

Put another way, why would God/His Holy Spirit, remind you of sins He has told us He chooses to remember no more (see Jer. 31 and Heb. 10)?

Here is a short 10 minute video from Joseph Prince..he believes in confessing sins..like we all do..

[video=youtube;RpUrua961Nk]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpUrua961Nk[/video]
I usually don't watch these videos people post because I've already heard of the errors of this false doctrine. But just for kicks I played this one, and all it took was 1:40 seconds into the video to find error in his teaching.

He said when you have a fall out with someone asking forgiveness from one another does not have anything to do with receiving forgiveness from God, which is contrary to what Jesus said.

Matthew 18:35
So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

Mark 11:26
But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

I have conversed with those who say it is wrong (a sin) to identify as a sinner. You were present when one such conversation was underway.

For the purpose of conforming us to His image.
When you sin, does God applaud it or...

Hebrews 12:5-8 KJVS
[5] And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: [6] For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. [7] If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? [8] But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

Paul is an example of an apostle in his era doing the work that God had set aside for him to do. This very same situation could happen in any area of the world now. It has nothing to do with people living in a peaceful country. The US is prosperous and they send more money to bless others in the world....they send more people out with the gospel...your excuse for slandering an having malice to a leader in the body of Christ because of Paul is lame...

You know better then this..be who you are!

Like I said. Paul set an example of one who I would look up to...

2 Corinthians 11:23-28 KJVS
[23] Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft. [24] Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. [25] Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep; [26] In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; [27] In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness. [28] Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches.

I believe their error is thinking all past, present, and future ongoing sin is forgiven without any repentance and or asking of forgiveness needed, but clearly this is not what the scriptures suggest.

Romans 3:25 "Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;"

To say we no longer need to ask for any forgiveness if we sin in the future is not only contrary to sound doctrine, but is a position of pride and arrogance manifest in their rebellious attitude toward what is plainly written. To me it shows a total disrespect to God and to His words concerning forgiveness, and it also shows a total lack of humility.

Yes then they try to manipulate and twist this scripture from the Apostle Paul to say this only applies to those before the cross.

They would be true also except that we can go to another Apostle in Peter who shows the exact same thing about future sins not automatically forgiven:

2 Peter 1:9
But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins.

Apostle Peter is talking about adding the fruit of the Holy Spirit to our lives, and those that don't he calls nearsighted and blind because only past sins have been forgiven, not future !!!

Sins weren't forgiven at the cross. They were forgiven when Christ took his blood to the throne of GOD in heaven to present proof of his death. That blood is still there providing freedom from all sin.
How many times was the blood from a sacrifice used?

When there was more sin, did they just use the old blood from a prior sacrifice?

He died once, but he ever lives to intercede at the throne of GOD for his people. Forgiveness is found at the throne of GOD in the here-and-now, not at the cross 1900 years ago.
Christ intercedes from a sitting position, at the Right Hand of God, advocating on the basis of His FINISHED WORK. Christ is not in the heavenly Temple laboring at the altar applying His Blood to every new sin that is committed. You will find that concept NO WHERE in the New Covenant Scriptures. No, Christ's sacrifice was the propitiation for mankind's sins - ALL of them - satisfying the requirements of His justice, once for all sins for all time. Whosoever will receive that forgiveness, GETS that forgiveness.

Jesus is in heaven now, not on a cross then.
Yes, SITTING, His Work complete.

That context was in identity...do you identity as a sinner or a saint?...Paul didn't write to the "Sinners at Rome, Corinth, Colossae, "...total different context...I have never heard anyone say that It's wrong to confess sin to the Lord..they most likely said that they don't confess IN ORDER to be forgiven..2 different things..

we were sinners but now God calls us saints...if some people want to call themselves sinners as an identity..then that is their business..

We are saints ( identity ) that sometimes sin...( outward behavior )

I have conversed with those who say it is wrong (a sin) to identify as a sinner. You were present when one such conversation was underway.

Which leads us naturally to...Myth 8: Hyper-Grace Preachers Disregard the Words of Jesus

Just more lies. Here's what Andrew Farley, one of the popular new.modern.hyper grace teachers, said about the Lord's prayer taught by Jesus to his disciples.

And he said to them, “When you pray, say, “Father, may your name be treated as holy. May your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins, for we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation.” Luke 11:2-4

On page 160 of his book he wrote that no Christian needs to pray for forgiveness of sins because the Lord's prayer was "an Old Covenant prayer taught to Jews before once-for-all forgiveness was accomplished."

In other words, Jesus' teaching is not for those under the new covenant to obey.

It seems to me that there are two types of confession. 1) what we call repentance - John spoke of repentance for the remission of sins which is get when we CONFESS Jesus as Lord and believe God raised him from the dead. I once was a sinner but now a child of God - I have been forgiven for those sins I committed before I confessed Jesus as Lord. (in the past Rom. 3:25)

2) Now I am walking in the light - la de da . . . I sin - I am still a child of God but darkness has "stained" my light - darkness and light do not go together - what "fellowship has light with darkness" - there's the same word here in 2 Cor. 6 as used in 1 John 1. I am to have NO darkness - If I have darkness I do not have "fellowship" with the Father and the Son although I am a born again child of God - In order to clean that slate I have to humbly come to the Father and ask forgiveness and then I am forgiven and cleansed of all unrighteousness and I am back "in the light" - la de da - until next time!
What are your thoughts about people who live in such a manner but commit a sin then die before they have asked for forgiveness of that particular sin? Does that one sin doom them?

discernment??..right ...so it gives a person the right to be malicious and slanderous even when they do not know the other person...I highly doubt that.....

There are some that believe it's within their "rights" to "rebuke" people because they interpreted the word and it's application different then what you do....they start "rebuking" people because they have a different interpretation then you in areas that are not clearly defined.

This so-called "rebuking' takes forms of "reviling" other leaders in the Body of Christ. Speaking in malice towards others in the body of Christ. They attack the person when they are confronted with clear scripture. This exact thing happened to Jesus with the religious people of His day.

People ( other then leaders in the Body of Christ ) that usually say they are "reproving or rebuking others" are using that out of context and most likely just "reviling people out of malice "...but they like to call it "rebuke" because it sounds so Christian-like.

It's a shame...this ought not to be brethren

It's not slander, it's using the discernment God has given me. Actually it takes little discernment to spot an obvious huckster and they are found in 3rd world countries as well as America.

This is the work of the flesh...

Ephesians 4:30-31 (NASB)
[SUP]30 [/SUP] Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
[SUP]31 [/SUP] Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander beput away from you, along with all malice.

The Holy Spirit will cause you to Awake to righteousness in these areas!
It is not slander or malice to warn about living in lavish lifestyles, even the bible warns multiple times on being rich, living lavish lives, and building up treasures (possessions) on earth !!!

Why must those warnings continue to go unnoticed or tossed away as if they don't exist ???

Because people put more trust in what they have rather than putting it into the Lord, and thus it takes and drives their motives and bends God's word to suite that selfish lifestyle !!!

Only Christ's work on earth is finished. It is written that he intercedes for us now with his blood. That has never stopped from the moment he entered heaven with his blood to present it to GOD the father. He is seated at GOD's right hand, which is the reality of the mercyseat in the temple, that no priest could sit on. That shadow pointed to the true throne of forgiveness in heaven. You are ignoring many scriptures that point to this reality that Christ is operating now as our high priest cleansing the sins of his people.
