Well, John146, the Greek has ἑβδομήκοντα [δύο] - seventy [two]. The external evidence is almost evenly divided and the internal evidence is not conclusive, so the "two" appears in square brackets to indicate the doubt.
God has preserved Scripture. Are you asking where his pure words are? They're in the manuscripts from which the Bible is translated. The originals have been lost.

No it is not love period. and yes you are running.
There are 4 greek words, all have totally different meaning, yet all 4 are interpretsd with one English word.
That's a flaw with the English language. you denying it does not make it anything that what it is.
Agape love is not equal or even close to phileo love.. and to interpret both with one word. is just out right error..

There is absolutely NO DIFFERENCE between "agape" and "phileo" and BOTH are used interchangeably by Jesus Christ and the writers of the New Testament. REGARDLESS of what Greek grammars, Greek teachers and Greek preachers may say! The Greek game once again...

I'm sorry John146, looks like I missed a question. And I'm not sure I understand it anyway. We don't have the originals; we have manuscripts. Translators, such as those who formed the six committees of men who translated the KJV, translate them. Are you suggesting people translate the King James into other languages? Sorry, your question is probably perfectly clear; it's my fault.

OK, so i know my question about Proverbs 30:28 was buried by a lot of "rawr rawr rawr"
but since you feel this way, can you show me some evidence that the correct translation in that verse is "spider" (KJV) instead of "lizard" (every modern English translation)?
because i like spiders better than lizards, but obviously (as i'm sure you agree) the truth is more important than what i "like"
and by "evidence" i mean more than "the KJV says lizards so it has to be lizards" -- show me some proof of the correct meaning of the word "שְׂמָמִית"

H 809 means something closely pressed together which would also be wine because wine is made by pressing grapes tightly together. It doesn't mean raisin cakes, raisin cakes are just an example of something pressed together.
Both words descibe wine. The KJV added the word flagons to make the sentence make more sense in English. Otherwise the sentence would read "who look to other gods and love of wine"
