justin777....you and GOD alone should be able to 'work this out". I am one who totally believes in using a little common sense...but I also believe totally in a supernatural touch of the Holy Spirit who can heal all things. My grandfather suffered from a stroke, so he and grandma went to see Oral Roberts who was travelling around doing healing services and holding tent revivals in those days. In total faith, my grandfather made his way onto the stage. Oral prayed and touched my grandfather and Grandfather was instantly healed. He got so happy that he started dancing and rejoicing and fell off the stage. His leg was broken and he had to be taken to a local hospital. Was the healing real? Yes! Did his leg mend? Yes, later.

I have been on medication for about 6 years as I have a rare type of migraine that totally incapacitates me if I do not take my meds, I did stop taking them for a couple of days last year and I was not in a good state I get extreme vertigo which makes me unable to stand for more than a few seconds and if I do move I will normally vomit, once I had restarted taking them I was back to 'normal'.

I spoke to my church elders and asked why God had not healed me as I had prayed for it often enough and that I did not want to rely on medications instead of Him, they told me that it was God who had given the knowledge to the researchers who 'discovered' the drugs and God who had given the knowledge to my Dr's to enable them to diagnose and treat illnesses, and I that need to follow their advise and pray to God and do things in a controlled way. I also found out that a majority of the doctors at the surgery where I go are practising Christians and are more then happy to talk about my meds and what God is doing in my life.

In NO way is taking prescribed medications a sin in my opinion but then I am biased towards my meds & God

It sound as if you has a major clot floating around in your brain. You have to start eating organic to help to prevent this clot from growing bigger or spreading, and to start eating with your organic foods, soy sauce that is a good source for nattokinase which that help to break up clots. And no smoking cigarettes or anything else of that nature. The reason why you are feeling fatigue a lot, it is because the brain has accumulated a lot of toxins that is causing the drowsiness that the brain has to much toxins that it is hard for it to filter it all out while you are asleep; and by you putting more into your body isn't helping out as well.

Wow are they in trouble, they don't believe in medicine and don't believe
in the one true saviour.
those people are crazy putting their faith in our Lord to heal them when they should be putting their faith in man made meds.

The original post suggests they are not putting their faith in
anything or anyone. Pot luck is a very unhealthy lifestyle.

My next door neighbor was opposed to blood transfusions(he was a JW), and my friend in college dated a girl whose family were Christian Scientists and they didn't believe in taking any pills (they prayed if they got sick). Non-wacky Christians generally accept the science behind modern medicine today.

blood mixing and praying for the sick are taught in the bible. these people mentioned are only following what our Lord instructed. yet you say they are in trouble because they do this and refuse modern medicine. if only we all had that kind of faith.

Does everyone here realize that our ancestors used medications freely. I am referring to our spiritual ancestors. Three of the earliest topical medications, natural meds, were wine, salt and oil.

I put olive oil on certain types of skin problems, a wound, or whatever seems in need of it. Wine and salt are good also. These are mentioned in the Word God has spoken to us through His designated children who lived as His prophets.

i agree but also believe we have fell a long way from putting a little aloe on a cut. we are in a "a pill will fix it" culture now. people are getting synthetic garbage pumped into them and completely changing who they are, altering their minds and changing the way our Lord made us. when the going gets tough we get medication and i dont agree with it.

What I meant is, they don't trust medicine and they don't follow the true saviour
who bore their sins in his body on the tree, who then rose again that we might
be born again and become spiritually alive. They don't have an intimate true
relationship with the saviour of the world.

JWs follow a man made religion of works among other things, and Christian
scientists are from another planet entirely.

If they don't believe in medicine and they don't believe in the God of the
bible, boy are they in big trouble.
I have nothing against praying and believing in God for healing - see my
previous posts. But people do need to make sure they are putting their faith
and hope in the one true God.

Of all the Biblically-based cults in America today, Christian Science is one
of the most interesting. Not only does it deny the essential doctrines
of Christianity but also it has completely reinterpreted the Bible.

It drastically redefines the Bible’s culture and terminology and rips thousands
of Scriptures out of their historical and Biblical contexts. The result is a
non-Christian mixture of metaphysical and philosophical thoughts. Christian
Science is so foreign to the Bible that if it didn’t use words like Jesus,
Trinity, Love, Grace, Sin, etc., you’d never suspect it had anything to
do with the Bible at all. Additionally, the book,
Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, which is the Christian
Scientist’s mainstay of spiritual knowledge, reads with a rhythm of
pseudo-logical statements that has the tendency to dull the senses
when read long enough. Is Christian Science Christian? Definitely not.

Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures is the primary interpretive
source of the Bible and source guide of Christian Science. It interprets the
Bible in a radically different way. It is so different, in fact, that it absolutely
rejects the substitutionary atonement of Jesus and states that it had no
efficacious value (S&H, 25:6). It denies that Jesus is God, second person
of the Trinity (S&H, 361:12-13). It says that sin is a false interpretation
of Divine Mind and is nonexistent (S&H, 335:7-15). And it says that the
Holy Spirit is Divine Science which is best represented by Christian Science
(S&H, 331:31). The list can go on and, unfortunately, it does.

To the Christian Scientist, God (the Father-Mother) is a Principle known pas the
Divine Mind. It has no personhood and no personality. A catch phrase used in
their literature is that God is "All in All."
In other words, God is all that exists, and what we perceive as matter is an
interpretation of divine mind. Since God is love, it means that sin and sickness
are only errors of interpreting the Divine Mind and have no true reality
(S&H, 330:25-274, 470:9-14).

To the Christian Scientist, Jesus is a Way-shower. He is someone who
epitomized the true principle of the Christ Consciousness which indwells
us all. Therefore, Jesus did not really die on the cross. He was not God in
flesh. He made no atonement in shedding His blood (S&H, 25:6).

Christian Science teaches that man does not have a sinful nature and
is a reflection of Divine Mind. To achieve "salvation," he needs only to
find the true reality of understanding as revealed in Christian Science
teachings. Unfortunately, these teachings are from Mary Baker Eddy, a
woman who founded the religion in the 1870's and are not from God.

The Christian Scientists consider their philosophy to be consistent with the
original teachings of Jesus. They consider truth a matter of higher
understanding and learning. But the reality is that Christian Science
has only produced unbiblical and false doctrines. Eternal destruction
is the only thing that will result from its false teaching. The fires of Hell
will be a bitter reality for those who have been taught that they don’t exist.

I understand implicitly what you are saying and abuse of any substance, natural or chemically produced, always leads to unpleasant ramifications.

I keep Ibuprophen and Paracetamol in my medicine store for specific problems I have. I only take either one when and if I truly need it. Both of these medications have some serious side effects when abused. I need the Ibuprophen on those occasions when my back gives me serious pain and disability. The other I only use on those rare occasions when I have a fever from the flu.......

People must take care how they utilize any medication. God is the One Who ultimitely makes a person well from any health problem.

i agree but also believe we have fell a long way from putting a little aloe on a cut. we are in a "a pill will fix it" culture now. people are getting synthetic garbage pumped into them and completely changing who they are, altering their minds and changing the way our Lord made us. when the going gets tough we get medication and i dont agree with it.

Luke was a physician wasn't he?
Yes, and, what, Luke the beloved sorcerer?

Colossians 4:14 Luke, the beloved physician, and Demas, greet you.

The Lord Jesus compares Himself to the sick needing a sorcerer?

Matthew 9:12 But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.

A merry heart does good like sorcery?

Proverbs 17:22 A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

The Lord provides leaves for sorcery during the millennium?

Ezekiel 47:12 And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine.

Perish common sense: the Lord wants everybody in pain and suffering who's not availed a miracle?

Depends, if it's real meds it's not a sin, but you still have to watch out. There's so many people who killed themselves because they got antidepressants or something and even one who got regular meds for physical pain. Not everything the doctor or psychiatrist, which I believe is not a real doctor, prescribes is kosher. They told me it was God given medicine in a big church, you have to go to the psychiater, it's good, it's a blessing from God, bless your pills. They know nothing, an atheist drugaddict had more sense: they make oxazepam from opium. You can get that on the black market illegal. Legalized all of a sudden everything is good? Yet someone else got it for his back ache and then I think it's okay. Dunno, just watch out with it. One guy on a forum got antidepressants and all of a sudden wanted to kill himself with a razor blade. On that forum it was forbidden to say those drugs were not good. Well I told him I had exactly the same thing, throw it away and here's T.B. Joshua, listen to him praying for viewers. He did, it was immediately gone. Lol then they removed my post and I got a warning, but he pm'd me to say thanks, it worked, it's gone.
A psychiatrist is very much "a real doctor." Went to medical school, took all the same classes "real doctors" take, did the interning thing like the rest of the "real doctors," and then learned something of mental health and brain function GI's didn't need to learn.

Without my meds, I would be dead. Sinful or not, they help to stabilize me. I can beg God to heal me until rapture, but there's no guarantee praying will work. However, if I get an anxiety attack, I can take a Valium and be calm as a cucumber within 20 minutes, so I know it works.

Yeah, yeah...I know...there's some obscure Bible verse to rebuke me with. Whatever. I'm not risking getting off my meds.
Yeah, yeah, there really isn't. :)

(On the other hand, you might want to try breathing exercises once in awhile during those attacks. Only if you don't absolutely need to be calm in 20 minutes. It might calm down without the meds. Sometimes the body stops the physical manifestations so drastically. Kind of like not needing to take allergy shots forever, because the body stops being allergic to the same thing. Not a religious response. I just know I was on antidepressants much longer than I needed to be because I finally got through that rough patch.)

I had a battery of tests done and it was discovered that I have a fault in my adrenal system which precipitates to my not being able to produce neurotransmitters at the proper rate. So, I'm on my meds to keep what little of those neurotransmitters in my system as long as possible before they are reabsorbed. It's dicey though. If I get too far out of "whack", I could go into serotonin shock and essentially go into a permanent acid trip. The risk of that though is better than the alternative of my not having the meds.

Revelation 9:21 Says that we shouldn't practice witchcraft [Greek word; Pharmakeia] which is where we get our word pharmacy from.

It's description is sometimes translated by greek scholars as drugs.

I personally get perverse thoughts when I'm off of these medications but when I'm on them I get pretty bad side effects too so it's kind of a hard decision either way.

Now the medical world would tell you that these medications are not bad for you but I think theres many Christians who would say otherwise so it's hard to tell.

I'm talking about anti psychotics anti depressants ect. not antibiotics or natural supplements.

I've been told by pastors I should take my medication and i've been told by pastors their not good for me.

I personally have three diseases and I need to take a different type of medication called anti biotics in addition to the other stuff these make me pretty different because their killing off diseases in my body.
James 5:14-16New King James Version (NKJV)

14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. 16 Confessyour trespasses[a] to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

lol, wacko Christians are often Christians that have at least have faith or try to trust in Gods Word and don't suffer from intellectual anemia like many in this world and the church that just follow the herd mindlessly and open their mouth for anything that's being fed from main stream media without testing. The majority is seldom right and that is one of the reasons that God always talks about a remnant and that road is wide that leads to destruction :) Knowledge is power. Enjoy these brave whistle blowers of Big Pharma that could not keep deceiving others and stood up for truth!

Better go for traditional medicine, that what God gave us through nature. Petro chemicals didn't exist until early 1900. In the words of Bono from U2 ones said, "Anything that humans touch, turn to crap!" :)

Meds are only to be use temporary, by giving a person time to build up their trust in God. Penicillin actually occur from nature, but the others that doesn't goes through an naturally occurring process, should not be taken at all, because it will have some type of ill effects on that person.
And not taking quite a few meds have a terrible side effects -- agony unto death.

Meds are only to be used temporarily? Tell that to a diabetic, someone with sickle-cell disease, someone with A-fib, epilepsy, chronic pain, Hep C for all types except 2B, (the only one curable), some forms of cancer, high blood pressure, cholesterol problems, dementia, MS, arthritis, and so much more.
