Thanks Lynn, but nothing new here either. David was under the Abrahamic Covenant which was also an unconditional Covenant in which the Mosaic Covenant had no power to annul. David saw that and so do I.
Hold on a second crossnote, It is the New covenant. It IS new. David was aware of grace but David was not under the Abrahamic covenant. He was under the law of Moses. David was chosen and anointed by God and God showed much mercy because David was a man after God's own heart. But David was a man under law.
David even looked a head and could see as God gave him the ability to see into the future those who would be under a new covenant of grace. "US" and those who got saved after Jesus went to the cross. David wrote in the Psalms... blessed is the man whose sins are forgiven., whose sins are not counted against him.
The Holy Spirit came upon David and many old testament saints but He came and went. Unlike those under the NEW covenant. We have the Holy Spirit of PROMISE. A promise that the Holy Spirit will NEVER leave us and He will be our comforter and teacher. And He seals us. The old covenant saints did not have this and neither did David in his time on earth because they were not under grace but under law. He knew about grace and he envied us for being under the new covenant.

Agree in part.
But remember, Each one of us who will ever get to heaven will get there because of the Abrahamic covenant.
David was under both. The Abrahamic covenant saved him. The mosaic (like a schoolmaster) led him there.
You know when I think about it..I think Jesus was preaching the Abrahamic covenant to some extent...the woman that was bent over by a spirit...Jesus says..Should not this woman be loosed "seeing" she is a daughter of Abraham?"....interesting...there is definitely something to the Abrahamic covenant .....

Please explain would you EG? We are under the new covenant of grace that is not the same as the Abrahamic covenant so am not following what you are saying EG. I'm still learning about this subject so your explanation would be appreciated. Questions like even in the Abrahamic covenant they did not have the Holy Spirit of promise like we do in this dispensation. And the gifts of tongues was specific to this time when Jesus went to be with the Father and left the Comforter to be with us. (among other gifts we have because of Jesus going to the cross and sending the Holy Spirit)
Can you post the verses that cause you to come to these answers about the covenants? Thanks EG

If we belong to Christ, which we do, then we are Abraham’s seed (singular), which Galatians 3:16 made very clear was Christ ( Galatians 3:16). Paul was saying that God treats us as He treats Jesus, because we have become partakers with Him through faith. 1 Peter 4:1 tells us to arm ourselves with the same mind that Christ had. Philippians 2:5 says, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.” One of the keys to victorious Christian living is seeing ourselves “in Christ” with all the rights and privileges that Christ has (Romans 6:4-11).
Note 4 at Galatians 3:29:
Going back to Galatians 3:16, we discover that God’s promises were made to Abraham and his seed, Christ. Christ was participating in the covenant agreement on our behalf. Jesus had no need to be justified through faith. Therefore, as our representative, the promise was made to Him, and since we are “in Him,” we receive the benefits. We are also guaranteed that this covenant will not be voided by our performance,
because the promise was made to Christ, not to us (see note 5 at Galatians 3:20). We are beneficiaries of His goodness, not ours.

That is the covenant of grace, all men have been under..
They Still had eternal life. It is just the payment had not yet been paid. No one, in the OT or nte new, was ever saved by law. To say David was under law is to say his salvation depended on the law.. I know many churches believe this, (I used to myself) but that is a lie. and we are not going back to law during the tribulation period as many think also.
It is through the abrahamic coveenant that we are all saved, Jesus is the fulfillment of that covenant also.. And in his sacrifice, all you just said we get in this age are offered. amen sis..
