I guess you don't like that verse that says, "for thou has magnified thy word above all thy name."

I am saved today because I put my faith in a book that told me about my Savior. If the book is wrong, I'm wrong.

by the way, once again, nothing wrong with the KJV. I have 2. I just PERFER to read modern English. because the God the believe in and worship is BIGGER than any BOOK.

You could have the same salvation from the NASB or ESV or other interpretation (yes even the NKJV)

Again, you keep hurting your own cause..

O.K. don't you think that is a bit backwards. " I put my faith in a book". actually, scratch the backwards part, this explains your beliefs. you sir need to do some serious prayer and soul searching if you think a book saves you. wow.

This, sir, is the crux of your error.

I think you both said it better than I did.. Thank you for your comments..

The holy scriptures lead us to Christ.. they are not an end to themselves...they are supposed to bring us to Christ and grow in Him by the Holy Spirit within us. We check everything out with the scriptures to see what is being told to us is true or not....

We could study the scriptures all our life and never come to the "knowledge" of Christ....we need the Holy Spirit to reveal Jesus to us....and that happens in all good translations. There is no one translation that is "the word of God". All translations have a bias to them....it's the nature of the men translating them from manuscripts.

John 5:39-40 (NASB)
[SUP]39 [/SUP] "You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me;
[SUP]40 [/SUP] and you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life.

In reality, we only have two Bible choices.

1. The KJV - comes from the line of Antioch manuscripts called the Received Texts or Textus Receptus.

2. All other versions - come from the line of Alexandrian manuscripts including the Sinaiticus and Vaticanus.

There's your two choices. Choose wisely.

False dichotomy, and false information. Please do your homework. If you are genuinely concerned for truth, please read James White's The King James Only Controversy.

One can get saved through another explaining the gospel message to them but I wouldn't call that person's spoken explanation the pure words of God.

When you got saved, where you putting your faith in what Scripture said about the Savior? Does faith come by hearing and hearing from the word of God?

lol.. You should stop talking. You keep hurting your own cause. You just proved your idolizing a version..

You can not have it one way, then have it another. the same could be said of the KJV..

So if I heard john 3: 16 and was saved by those words..

Does it matter if I read them in Greek, Hebrew, The KJV or the NASB?

or does it only work if I read them in the KJV?

What other choices are there other than the two I gave?

Can you get saved by reading John 3:16? No death, burial and resurrection, no sin is mentioned?

Anyway, what you would lose once you got saved is the doctrine of the begotten. Jesus was not God's one and only son. You would be limited to your growth and knowledge of the Bible.

so I can get saved or I can't? Which is it?

Jesus is not Gods only Begotten son? WHAT??????????????????????????????????

What's the gospel message unto salvation? Christ's death for our sins, his burial and resurrection. Check 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.

Jesus is God's only begotten son. That word begotten is missing in most modern versions. You lose the doctrine of the begotten. That's important if one takes the Bible literally.

James White is a professional Bible corrector and nobody has really gotten it right yet after all these attempts to give us God's words - not the KJB, RV, ASV, NKJV, NIV, NASB, RSV, NRSV, ESV - none of them. James should write his own bible version and be done with it: that is the only way he will be satisfied. It also would make him very happy if his made up bible version gained him boatloads of money and worldwide fame.

1. It is in the NKJV and NASB.. so your point is mute,,
2. Ro 1 says we all know we are rightly judged by sin based on gods creation and are thus without excuse. And no one in the OLD Testament know about the burial and resurrection. I guess on of them are saved.

Again, you keep destroying your own argument.. You should give up.. Your ot helping your cults cause at all..
