Turns out the cake is a lie, they don't have everything, but at least they had John :)

I more or less collect bibles :p I have three in English, two (+ a study bible) in Norwegian, one in German, one in Scots, one NT in Greek and one in Latin just for fun... but no Gaelic paper version yet....

I have been a cashier for about a week now. I get many interesting people, along with men who flirt with me. I have this particular guy who has hit on me with his friend on a daily basis. Today, I had the best response ever.

Guy: I see you checking me out. *winks*
Me: Nope, just your items.

It sounds like you are going through such a hard time. :( Have you ever read the stages of grief? Sometimes stuff can really weigh on ones heart and cause such feelings and reactions, even if you aren't quite aware of how it did, because the thing is, we all handle grief differently, and sometimes there is a stage of numbness or grief in the process that can put you emotionally and mentally in a tough spot. I went through a phase very much like that this last year, feelings of hopelessness, with numbness and heavy brain fog, and I am only 22. I am pretty sure that depression played a big part in how I ended up like that, and I knew I wouldn't be able to work well in the career path I had chosen like that, so I waited. I still am not back to normal yet, but I wanted to say that no matter where you are at in life, there is hope. Your life is a beautiful thing. You just have to take one day at a time and make sure you do things for yourself, even if they seem trifle, that can help bring back hope and such. Like spending time with someone who can make you smile and laugh, or getting enough sunshine and exercise, or listening to music that uplifts the soul, or anything else that can draw you out of that depression. It is hard and not easy, and nothing changes overnight, you might need to find support in this, but don't give up hope, because hope is what makes life worth living and hopelessness is one of the heaviest feelings to bear I think, and that in and of itself can really throw you into a brain fog. I truly hope that this all works out for you, take care of yourself. I will send a prayer.
Thank you so much for this, Adrift. I think you and Cinder might be right, that it has something to do with what I went through. Just over a year ago I had an almost photographic memory. Now I'll go to a store and can't remember what I needed to buy or can't remember where I parked or I'll be driving somewhere and halfway there I'll realize that I missed my exit or I'm going the wrong way. I'll look into those grieving stages as you suggested. Thanks again.

Oh and its not all that bad really. I have a lot of free time to do hobbies or do some shopping or what not.. that's the good part.

Spinach and cheese quesadilla, coconut cashews, and black coffee for dinner.
This is the how you do it.
I also purchased a new notebook, so I feel that things may become so much more focused now that I can write down all of my thoughts- it helps me with my prayers and stuff.

When I worked at Wendy's I'd almost always get put on the side(drive through) sandwich station. I was the fastest sandwich maker they had, and could make any sandwich in under 6 seconds! Some days though... The manager would come over and tell me to go on the front register. This happened whenever there was a group of girls that would come in, like buses of cheerleaders, girl's basketball teams, or anything else where troves of girls came into the building.
The manager asserted that they spent more money with me on the register. Honestly, I believe the managers were right, They would come back up for refills, and then they'd come back for a frosty or small fries.. It was weird, and awkward and I didn't like it.

There's a very thin line between "flirting", "stalking", and harassment between customers and employees. And if it's unwanted, it should always be viewed as harassment/wrongdoing.

I've worked in several stores where men (especially older) harass and have even proposed to pay our younger female employees for sex.

Some will say something like, "Hey, I could use someone to (rake leaves, do chores at my house, etc.)", and once they get a phone number, it becomes clear what they're really after.

And if someone says they're a "doctor", "lawyer", "dentist", etc. and are "looking for a secretary for their office" if you'll only "meet him for an interview", run like the hills. I've known a couple girls who fell for this but luckily, escaped unharmed.

Management (in my 24 years of observation) does nothing to protect employees from this kind of abuse, as it's all about catering to customers and bringing in the dollars, even at a small-town grocery store. (Sometimes the smaller stores are the worst, because they're doing everything they can in order to survive when competing against Walmart.)

Holy crap! That's disgusting, Kim! I would never think of doing any of those things. Shame on the men who pull that crap! If I did anything more than smile at cashiers and be respectful to them that wouldn't be appropriate. I don't see why people don't realise that.

I was a cashier.....I had a drunk lady come in all the time and flirt with me....half the time she was with her husband....that was weird and creepy.
I also had a mother try to set me up with her daughter....the daughter and father were both standing there....
Trust me Zero, you don't ever want that to happen.

I did think a cashier at a grocery I went to was flirting with me because she would always give me a big smile and ask how I'm doing and stuff but when I finally got up the nerve to ask her out she declined... said she had a boyfriend. :(
