So if all one has to do is simply believe then why the distinctions in the parable of the sower
Some will not hear.
Some hear but do not believe.
Some hear and believe
Some hear and believe receiving with joy.
And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended.
Some hear and believe and receive
such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.
If the seed did not come from heaven then they were right not place any substance in the sower's seed, if the sower received his seed from heaven the they screwed themselves out of a blessing because when you receive the seed given by a sower that he received from heaven then you are not receiving the sower per say but are actually receiving the LORD and is storing your treasure in heaven. And that is drawing the LORD presence closer by your faith. If the sower has not seen his Father, nor heard his voice then where did his seed come from, his own opinion or beliefs. But remember too that the LORD's thoughts are not our thoughts and his ways not ours.
John 3:27
27 John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.
Thus if a sower is sowing seed that is not from heaven, then it is holds no blessing being that it was not given from the LORD. That is why the Gospel is freely given, not because it is free but it operates by faith. The foxes like to reap where they have not sown.
Since the LORD gave the sower the seed so it is not the sower's to sell, the sower must receive the seed in order to it be obtain the blessing. So how does he receive it, he takes the seed, being the testimony he received of the LORD, which the truth that the LORD gives unto them and gives it unto every living creature he can.
Because receiving from the LORD he knows it is the Word and the LORD's Word is an everlasting truth. Moreover, unto him that has more shall be given and those that have not, even that which they have shall be taken away from them. See Proverbs 23:23. And if they reject it then he has still received it because he placed his substance, or worth in the LORD's Word.
The serpents love to say the truth is free you don't have to receive it , especially that receiving is simply believing. Because the serpents reap their pleasure from appeasing their own desire and needs. The Gospel doesn't teach to store your treasure in heaven because it is some divine retirement account, but as written where you put your treasure being the value of your substance there shall you heart be also. If you want a big mansion just remember without the LORD it is just a bunch of rocks so don't let them seduce you with money and don't be afraid to acknowledge that that the Gospel is of value, great value. The truth of this world has worth, the Gospel has enduring value.
