Jesus taught HEAR AND DO.

Jesus NEVER went around teaching, "trust in what I have done" or "trust in what I will do." Jesus taught HEAR AND DO, STRIVE, KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS, DIG DEEP, DO WHAT I SAY, COUNT THE COST, LOSE YOUR LIFE, PICK UP YOUR CROSS, DENY YOURSELF AND FOLLOW ME.

The "trust and receive" message is premised on the false substitutional teachings where people think that Jesus swaps places with them. It is a PROVISIONAL false gospel presented as a PACKAGE. One "trusts in and receives the package" and they are then CLOAKED IN THEIR SIN because they swapped places with Jesus. It is a hoax.

James wrote...

Jas 1:21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
Jas 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

...yet these wolves will NEVER contend for such. The implanted word (the Word received wholeheartedly within, ie. abiding in the Spirit) can only be received if one first lays apart ALL filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, in other words if one REPENTS.

The dynamic of salvation is "purification through obedience to the truth" ie. yielding wholeheartedly to the grace of God whereby we are quickened unto life.

1Pe 1:22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
1Pe 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

One cannot undergo such a transformation whilst still in rebellion to God.

Hear and do is also great, but believe and receive too. How else do the lost get saved if you only do pray and evangelize and not believe and receive?

No problem..it's good to ask questions. Us "grace" believers get accused of being licentious all the time from those that do not understand grace properly...and it doesn't matter how many times we say that true grace will "teach" us to live godly in this world.....they keep saying the exact opposite...it's just the nature of the beast I suppose....:)
What arrogance. Suddenly the grace that the church has held to for nearly two millenia is not properly understood grace, and all of the sudden this newfangled "grace" that Prince invented less than 2 decades ago is now real grace.

Yes i know... "aw naw... He's back".....

While i ain't a big fan of pastor Prince, i do like when was said in the OP.. In fact i liked it very much. But lately, I've had a mindset come on and I'm not sure why.. But, here it is...i wonder how many folks that read the Bible, and then they'll listen to somebody give "their" interpretation of what they read, i wonder how much of that changes their "thinking" folks can read Scripture out of the bible, memorize it, argue it to death because what they read and understand about it ain't what the other person read and understood about it.. Why, why does this world, people, have such an incredible difficult time understanding grace, mercy, unconditional love, sacrifice.... Because it's not in us to understand it, in some folks it's not even in them to accept it.. Influences around us whether we realize it or not i think have impacted us in ways we don't realize.. When you pray, how do you talk to God? Have you ever just stopped and thought about what your feeling when you talk to him.... Prayer, prayer should always be intimate.... When you talk about grace, there's only one kind of grace, God's grace, only one kind of mercy, God's mercy.....in the same way that you have to believe the Bible is more than just words you have to believe that grace and mercy are more than just feelings..... They are the living essence of the living God, and its what he wants so desperately to bestow upon you... The world can't understand this.... In all truth, We barely understand it.. How do i know that, because everyone has their own opinion on how you get it, how you lose it, there's all kinds...... No there isn't, there's one kind.... Gods kind.... And for all the folks I've met in here.... Grace to you.....

You speak as if "simply believing" is simple for people. The question isn't if simply believing is enough, the question is if all one has to do is simply believe why don't more people believe?
Everyone believes, one believes there is a God another believes there isn't a God. While they might not both agree on what they believe,-- they both believe none the less. Or at least that is my opinion.
Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. Mark 9:23
So do you believe Jesus is saying if thou that cannot believe or if can believe?

The Gospel of 'faith' is a discipline that is taught according to scripture, and the teacher is the same to all that are taught.

While you don't have to answer but to illustrate I will ask if you taught yourself how to read and write the written spoken word without assistance or did you learn with the assistance of teachers? While many will ask what that has to do with anything, since you were learned see Isaiah 29:11-13. Regarding verse 11, wasn't it speaking about the book of Esaias being sealed?

In conclusion, we can believe anything we want but we will reap what we sow.

24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
Matt 7:24-27

Whatever you may think all of that means, it doesn't change the reality those who believe in Jesus Christ HAVE eternal life.

1 John 5:13
"These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life."

John 3:15
"so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life"

John 3:16
"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."

John 3:36
"Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them."

John 5:24
“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life."

John 6:47
"Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes has eternal life."

Eternal has no beginning of nor end of existence. The Eternal always was, is and will always be.

Since I know that I had a beginning of existence then I know it would be a lie to claim to have always existed. Like I said, you can believe what you read and I will put my faith in the Word that I heard of the LORD that by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

That's why we must receive eternal life, and we can only receive it from One who has it, Jesus Christ. The eternal life that we receive in Jesus Christ is not some "thing"; rather, "eternal life" is a Person, Jesus Christ, with whom we are spiritually united.

"I am the resurrection and the life" (John. 11:25)

"I am the way, the truth, and the life" (John. 14:6)

"He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life" (1 John. 5:12).

What arrogance?? The real arrogance is when we refuse to change our own minds about what we think we know about God. The church down through the ages has come to understand the love and grace of God just like they have today and have written about it and shared exactly what we who you call "grace believers" are sharing today.

The fact that you are only just now hearing about it does not mean that it is "newfangled". :) Prince didn't invent grace., he just keeps preaching about it. Be glad you are hearing new things today because it's the same grace.... just different person hearing it for the first time. :) The Bible is full of new things for us because they are new revelations of the same truths. The Bible is alive and has the capacity through the work of the Holy Spirit to take a truth we learned about 5 years ago and show us an even deeper meaning of it.

It is not strange or newfangled, we should be having our minds daily renewed (changed) to hear more and learn more and walk differently than we did yesterday. This is Good News HeRose. The Gospel is always good news. His mercies are new every morning. The love and grace of God is like an ocean that cannot be 100% digested or swam in. We will be learning about it forever.

Amen!

The problem is that the real gospel of the grace of Christ has been watered down in the church since it was first being preached and then severely watered down by 300 AD. , until Luther stopped some of the apostasy with "The just shall live by faith" in the 1500's. The salvation by grace through faith alone is not just for entrance into the body of Christ but it is the exact same message for living in Christ our whole lives while on this earth - after we are born again by grace through faith.

The religious people of his day wanted to kill him for saying that. It is the same way today for those that oppose the pure message of grace through faith alone for salvation in Christ's finished work.

The Lord is bringing back to the church the true, pure message of the gospel of the grace of Christ alone to not only begin to live but to continue in Him to experience the true life that is in Him alone! When THAT gospel is preached to all the world - then the end will come , Jesus said in Matt 24.

The message of being saved by grace though faith alone was revived to the church with Luther but then people have added unto the gospel by making "requirements " that YOU must do after you come to Christ and thus relying on the flesh. This in essence is denying the Lord and Master by the D.I.Y self-righteousness/holiness advocates.

Somehow or other they forgot what Paul said to the Galatians ( see how fast apostasy comes into the pure message of the grace by faith alone in Christ started to get watered down )

Galatians 3:3 (NASB)
[SUP]3 [/SUP] Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?

Halleluia, Blessed the Lord for His Grace for each of us. We can't imagine how is huge His kindness on this way.We have the ability to overcome this World in His name.Just believe and receive. And don't give up, Please. He offer this kind of Grace for His Children only. Let's take a look at the next verses on this topic, KJV.1John5;4-5, 4.For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the World; and this is the victory that overcometh the World, even our faith.5.Who is he that overcometh the World, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?; Thanks Father for this kind of opportunity for your Children.

[TD="colspan: 3, align: left"] Some people see God as a judge who has exacting demands on man. When they fall short or when things go wrong in their lives, they think that God is judging them.
My friend, the truth is that if you are a believer, God does not bring any charge against you. Instead, He justifies you because of the blood of His Son. In fact, God’s Word goes on to say that the One who has the right to condemn you, chose instead to die for you and is risen at the Father’s right hand to be your righteousness! (Romans 8:34)
But what the devil tries to do is to get you to believe that God watches you with a critical eye and punishes you when you do wrong. He has deceived many sincere Christians into believing that if they have done something wrong, bad things have a right to come upon them and their families. And when these things happen, he convinces them that they are suffering God’s judgment because of their wrongdoings. In the meantime, these sincere Christians struggle with condemnation because they think that they are the cause of their problems.
Nothing could be further from the truth. Ever since the cross, where Jesus was judged in your place for every one of your wrong actions, thoughts and words, God no longer judges you, His child. You need not accept condemnation because Jesus took all your punishment at the cross.
So when you start to feel condemned for your actions or when you experience negative circumstances, say, “It is written: It is God who justifies me. I am completely forgiven and made righteous before Him. I refuse to accept any condemnation and I reject every symptom of the curse that I am seeing in my circumstances!”
Then, simply stand on the truth of God’s Word, and watch Him deliver and bless you!

Rom 2:6 who will render to each according to his works;
Luk 3:8 Therefore bring forth fruits worthy of repentance
Joh 11:26 And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die
2Th 1:8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God and who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Act 26:20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance

Luk 17:9 Does he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I think not.
Luk 17:10 So likewise you, when you shall have done all the things commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants, for we have done what we ought to do.
