I personally enjoy being around a guy who is wearing a well-chosen cologne in moderation. But Axe... no thanks.
Cologne? That's extra. You can't put that under your arms.

Is this a serious question? Call me silly, but I figured anything that doesn't smell like old gym socks & cabbage is prob'ly a good scent.

I think we should start calling that cloud that follows Axe wearers...
an Axe handle.

Personally I prefer a hatchet to an Axe...

So, one of my nieces, when I go over to my brother's house, always runs up and gives me a hug. Then she smells me. o_o I was a little weirded out, but apparently, that is her thing, I don't know... Anyway, after smelling me, she has told me multiple times "You smell fresh." and "You smell nice."
When I go over to my brother's house, I sometimes feel a slight bit of worry.. I fear someday she will smell me and say "You stink!" D:

My nose is broken, or that's how I've always described it. I have almost no sense of smell most of the time. Sometimes I smell things, but not often. My siblings like to tease me about it. I would smell something sometimes, and ask if anyone else smelled it, and most of the time no one else did. It has been suggested that I might have mild synthesia.
For that reason, I don't wear any cologne. It would be nearly impossible for me to gauge the potency, or scent.
But I'm not one of those people that goes without deodorant either..
*shrugs*

Axe body spray ain't cutting it.
Pun intended? :D

I'm not a big fan of the sprays. They're so... obvious. My dad uses Old Spice, and I know when he's showered even well after he's left the bathroom.

I recently started using scented oils that mimic fragrances, and I like them.

So anyway...

I never tried axe. I was too unimpressed with their blatant, "Wear-this-and-women-will-find-you-irresistible" advertising.

Buying it would feel like an insult to my own intelligence.

I personally think axe is too strong. But then, they maybe putting too much on. I prefer a musk or a lighter scent.

Is this a serious question?
We actually WERE having a serious discussion in another thread, but someone started a rather hilarious commentary about Axe body spray, and so instead of derailing that thread, I just figured I'd bring it here. :)

I was also hoping to uplift the mood of the forum, seeing as we had some pretty heavy-hitting exchanges the past few days.

I don't know about Axe (not the best name for a spray deodorant), but I have found as I get older all my Christmas presents seem to be toiletry sets.. you know the one's lol. Anyhow I dont mind I get enough of them to last atleast 6 months lol.

What do they smell like, well some are good and some not so...but never look a gift horse in the mouth. just use it :)

I tend not to buy sprays as they make me sneeze like mad, I use men's roll on anti-perspirants/deodrants and their usually only a couple of £'s (and no scent). If I want scent I use Taylor of Old Bond Street sandlewood aftershave, as I use their shaving soap. It may seem a tad pricey, but it lasts for ages... and again, I uusualy get that as a Christmas and or birthday present lol.

Hey Everyone!

Just for fun, and because the subject came up in another thread...

What do you think of inexpensive substitute-for-a-real-shower body sprays (such as Axe) that seem to be all the rage?

Yay or Nay? Ladies, don't feel left out, as I've seen at least 2 versions of Axe Body Spray for Women, though not lately, so I'm not sure if they still make them.

I'm certainly not knocking anyone who wears sprays like this--everyone has long days when they need a little refresher--but I guess the funny thing I find about cheaper scents is that people seem to overcompensate by spraying on half the bottle (does that count as air pollution?)

I'm all for smelling good, but... half a gallon of aerosol just doesn't smell very appealing.

One of these products (I forget which one) also used to (and still might) have an image on the label of one guy with his arms wrapped around two women... Ahem. I also get a kick out of some of the names... (If I remember correctly, there used to be a product called, "Snake Charmer.") Make that a DOUBLE "Ahem".

Some singles may think they need all the help they can get when it comes to attracting the opposite gender.

So... What do you think about giving them The Axe??!

(Give me a few minutes to create a poll, but don't let that stop you from writing your own answer! :))

Again, this thread is just for fun and was created to hopefully bring a little lightheartedness to our beloved Singles forum! :)

Axe was always advertised in a sexual manner. For the longest time (and still currently if I'm not mistaken) their logo was, 'How dirty boys get clean'. The magazine ads, commercials, yada yada...always had some reference to sex or attracting women.

Anyway... I try not to think about colognes and body sprays as 'shower substitutes', but I do use them. ...and let me say, when it comes to axe, that whole 'gallon of aerosol' statement you made is CRAZY!

When it came out in Middle-High School and overnight everyone started using it (seemingly...and due to heavy advertising, good fragrances, and cheap pricing, I'm sure...), we coined the phrase 'Axe Murdering' a room. I mean it! Just 3 sprays from a can of Axe in a single room without some kind of airflow or ventilation, and you will be unable to breathe easily for at least the next 15+ minutes.

Wait...wait...Are...are you...trying to say...I smell bad? Is this a judgement of my shut-in, gaming, single-and-stinking-thinking-type lifestyle?! IS THAT WHAT THIS IS?!

^_~ Well I'm apathetic to your degradation. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got a galaxy to conquer...

(...and for those of you who can't see the sarcastic humor/satire in this, then please...Axe me about it. ^_~)

My dad feels bad if he spends an unnecessary cent on himself, so instead of normal after shave which is 10 euro he uses some 1.50 euro alcohol stuff. I knew one man who used soap instead of shave cream.
