People are pretending that Jesus, while He walked this world during His earthly ministry, explicitly said anything about homosexuality. I would just like to see these Scriptures if they exist. I don't believe they do. Can you prove me wrong?
Are you for real? Seriously read Romans 1:24-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, and 2 Timothy 3:1-7.. I KNOW you are NOT this ignorant, Magenta. :) And Jesus' words are just as valid spoken from heaven, as they were when spoken on earth. :)

Is the word of God and Jesus's words one in the same?

YOU presented them as proof to me, regardless of who posted them first. I am not being snotty. Can't you handle it when people stick to their guns? Am I too sassy for you? Does telling it like it is not suit you when someone else tells it to you like it is? I have asked for the words of Jesus while He walked this world and you are not allowed to move the goal posts to suit your agenda, sorry!
THOSE ARE JESUS WORDS AS SPOKEN TO PAUL. What part of that do you not understand? You're not sticking to your guns, you're simply being stubborn. You've been given Jesus' words. Ignore them at your own peril.

This thread leaves me a bit baffled, I know this elderly, gay couple, two sweet old men in their late 60s. They are both very kind, but one of them is almost like a grandma, and whenever I'm reading what somebody's saying on here...it is so strange that there is so much hatred towards those people. I know folks are saying that God hates the sin, not the sinner, but honestly, yall believe that people actually buys that? Please, don't add to their burden, I can't believe that my Jesus, the One I'm leaning on, would want that to happen. And please, we are all sinners, none of us are Jesus.

You're not telling it like it is. You're trying to pretend Jesus stayed silent on the subject of homosexuality. And that simply isn't true, so you're believing a lie. Jesus spoke VERY clearly on that subject.

Are you for real??? Honestly, those books do not record the words of Jesus while He walked this world, which is what I have stated and/or asked for all along. Moving the goal posts is a logical fallacy, Blue. Anyways, if anyone can correct me if I am wrong, that would be great, for I love learning new things :) But PM me, please.

I don't remember any time recorded in scripture that Jesus himself said anything about homosexuality.

I don't believe He said anything about getting drunk, either.

He had bigger fish to fry, if you will pardon the pun-like nature of that reply. Like the plank in your eye, for instance. "Your" being used generally. I have already brought up the fact that adultery was likely mentioned in Scripture more often than homosexuality. Do we see threads on adultery? Do we go around stoning adulterers, anything like how homosexuals have been murdered and persecuted throughout history? What is the spiritual significance of adultery? Is it not idolatry? Idolatry is the sin whether one is hetero or homosexual.
Granted that being the case, is not homosexuality still one of the fish? lol :p He may have addressed other sins, but His silence on a particular sin doesn't all of a sudden make it neutral. You would agree? You're not saying that it "wasn't a big deal" to Jesus and thats why He didn't speak on it, are you? Not making assumptions, asking questions and following the natural conclusion.

Also, that the Apostles spoke out against homosexuality is revealing. If they had a wrong perspective on homosexuality surely Jesus would've addressed it. Also too, the Holy Spirit wouldn't have allowed a false doctrine to be promoted in the word of God by the apostles, He would've more than likely gave them a check in their spirit.

Jesus said adultery was sin but lusting after your neighbour's wife too. He didn't say incest is sin but lusting after your sister too. Guess because when He said the first thing that was obvious too.

Here are Jesus' Words on homosexuality etc.:

Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

18*For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

19*Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

When a person is saved, do they immediately stop sinning? Or is it more of a gradual, lifetime effort to become more like Christ on a day by day basis?

When Jesus told the woman at the well to "go, and sin no more"... do you think she never sinned again? That she never "slipped up"?
No, but I bet she remembered Jesus' words many times, and that they developed and bloomed in her heart until they produced a fruit of righteousness.

Which is why it's so important not to remove the truth from love. The truth is the seed of change. I think the nature of the word of God to someone, is that it is truth and love inseparably put together, specifically for their situation.

Jesus' words came through Paul FROM Jesus. Why do you need his words to be from when he was on earth? His words from heaven are just as valid, but you refuse to understand that. You just want to be right, that's all. You refuse to believe the proof given to you, even when it comes from Christ himself. smh

I asked for explicit mention. Good try though. :)

Ok think of this, there aren't a ton of scriptures that specifically speak on homosexuality but it is clear that God hates it, he made man and women not man and man or women and women. But even so the hate the sin not the sinner must remain true in our hearts and yes Jenny I buy it because being a Christian is to be love and love does not tear down or condemn it does not point it's finger.

It is not my place to judge them nor is it any of ours and some may call it righteous judgement but who among us is righteous enough to make sound judgement? Who among us was not wrapped in filth and sin and yet shown love and mercy? A heart is not changed because of pointing fingers or by having their spirits ripped apart a heart is changed by love and loving correction not judgement in the disguise of righteous judgment and if one cannot tell the difference between the two then they have no right to judge at all.

However the whole legalizing gay marriage thing was going to far, marriage was created by God as a beautiful thing between man and women in which the two are no longer two separate beings but become one mind one heart one being it is a foreshadow of the wedding of the lamb and so when satan perverts this with gay marriage this is when I draw the line.

Still struggling with this one. Especially when you consider that there were councils of men that decided which words would go into the Bible and also when you consider the various language translations.
