No, I am not being obtuse, and I don't appreciate your saying I am! Why is it okay for you to insult me because I am telling the truth??? Jesus did not explicitly say anything about homosexuality while He walked this world. The noise people make about this one sin is completely disproportionate considering that fact, and I get crapped on because I say so. Crap away! Jesus still loves you. And me. And them!!!
For whatever reason, you're very touchy on the subject of gays. Anyhow, Kayla wasn't crapping on you. She just thinks as I also do, that you're acting oddly right now. No one is saying that God doesn't love gays. Of course he does. And we are to love them as well, but HATE their SIN. We are not to tolerate their sin, or their lifestyle, nor are we to associate with their evilness.

I hope outsiders come to ChristianChat.com and see that all Christians are not hateful bigots, and that whether or not something is said to be wrong in Scripture, we can still love those who are different from us, just as Jesus commanded. If I were to be seen as someone who could love a person that others cannot, I would count that as a great honor. It is terribly sad to me the way homosexuals have been persecuted and suffered as a result.
I agree.

But saying sin is OK. is not christlike.

I see so much lack of God in this thread, people are at each others throats saying mean things to and about each other.
if this is who we are as believers then the world has every right to call us what they do, we are like the pharisees we do not practice what we preach.

If the only thing that can come from this is us going at each other then God's heart will never been seen or known in this thread.
I think some of us need to be the bigger person and walk away unless we actually enjoy going at each others throats and enjoy proving the world right about us. an action is like a pebble on a puddle of water it as well as our words has the power to create ripples that expand and affect people in our lives and all around us especially so on the internet where our ripples affect a great deal more of people.

But one has to take that action to make the ripples

People are pretending that Jesus, while He walked this world during His earthly ministry, explicitly said anything about homosexuality. I would just like to see these Scriptures if they exist. I don't believe they do. Can you prove me wrong?
DOES IT MATTER?

DID JESUS CONDONE HOMOSEXUALITY BY NOT SPECIFICALLY SAYING HOMOSEXUAL?

Jesus condemned sexual sin, Homosexuality according to the law. is sexual sin (immorality) So yes Jesus said it.

They don't have to parade. They can simply remarry even if that is adultery. They can adopt kids while they have this filthy adulterous spirit. No problem. But with gays: woooooo no! abomination!!! It's a total double standard.

God doesn't accept what they are doing any more than he accepts homosexuality. As I said in another post, many churches do not allow divorced people to be pastors or leaders in the church. Many pastor wont marry couples that are living together. Wrong is wrong no matter who does it.

Is the word of God and Jesus's words one in the same?
What did John think.

"in the beginning was the WORD, and the WORD was god and the WORD was with God.

Is not the "WORD" all about Jesus,,

Jesus said adultery was sin but lusting after your neighbour's wife too. He didn't say incest is sin but lusting after your sister too. Guess because when He said the first thing that was obvious too.

Here are Jesus' Words on homosexuality etc.:

Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

18*For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

19*Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Thanks.. This would be Jesus speaking against all sexual sin, homosexual sin included.

Did Jesus treat the adulterous woman with disgust? No...
Did He say she did not sin? No.

Did he condone her sin? No

Did he tell her to go and sin no more?

I completely agree with Magenta that people need to extend and express the love of God to sinners. People need to not present the Gospel in a condemning way, as the way we deliver a message affects its reception. I can tell you, when I see street preachers calling women whores and expressing repulsion at homosexuals with hate that I believe they are hardening the heart of people the Holy Spirit is softening. They are working against God when they spew hate and do not express the Gospel in a loving way.
Expressing love, and condoning sin, is not the same

To answer the OP question. One some Christians are not Christians. They are pretenders claiming the name Christian and having no knowledge of Christ. Two some Christians are woefully under educated in the scriptures.

To know Christ and to know the nature of God is to know that Sodomy cannot be supported. Sodomy is to be preached against as those who practice it are condemned. Christ will save them if they seek forgiveness and not accommodation.

For the cause of Christ

There's hope if the church rises up and does the works that Jesus did. Better focus on that.

“Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

for if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.

Lets quit blowin at the fur and get to the hide, while on earth did Jesus say homosexuality was not sin? Did he say it wasn't an abomination? We're talking this specific sin. Whats your answer?
