Yes, I agree with this so much. For me it was video games, for 33 years of my life I LOVED them, they were my hobby, my escape. Well I finally hit a point in life where I broke (a totally unrelated issue, my testimony is posted here for details, but I'm talking about a result of my own personal regeneration) And was saved that night waking up regenerated and a "new man" in Christ. To be honest it took a little while to even realize what had happen to me, just halfway through the day I had realized I felt good and had not contemplated killing myself all day (again makes more sense when you understand where I was at that point), anyway once I got home I decided to sit down and play some games on the Xbox. Well I turned it on and all I could think about was "what are my sons doing, are the things I'm doing on this game really things God would want me filling my mind with, and how could this time be better spent". I didn't just wake up and say "all games are evil, I quit", or anything like that. It's just the Spirit led me a different direction and changed my priorities just like that overnight. I also don't go around telling others that they shouldn't play video games or that "all games are the devil", or anything like that. I will share how God worked in me personally for His glory, but not in a confrontational way at all.
This is how I personally took
strawberryrosebow's comment too. I just felt she was sharing what she's learned and felt from her experience with the Lord. I appreciate her testimony and I guess I didn't get offended like many here did because I don't watch it. I do think her experience and concerns are perfactly valid. Almost all entertainment in these days are a distraction from God, and when we hear that about things we personally like in that light we tend to get very defensive and start calling each others mother "Jack". LOL, just kidding about the last part, but I do think we should be careful and make a distinction in what we generalize as apposed to where God has lead "us" personally. Thank you Strawberry for sharing though, and I completely understand your point.
