Does that mean there are no males or females? Or we would all be males? Or what? Thoughts?
Why on earth would you think we would all be males? That likely comes from the patriarchal society that you may have been raised in. Male-centered interpretations of the Bible and in fact in many major religions are a distortion of the reality of Heaven and earth. Check out the website of Kathryn J. Ross, a lady theologian. Christians have pointed out in this forum that, while men are traditionally the honorary leader of the family, it is not a license for the domination of women, and never to abuse or control women or children or other men for that matter, or for women to dominate and control men.
One Christian man said in the forum that in his house, he has the final say on decisions with his wife's agreement, but he woujld never make a major decison without consulting his wife. This works for the marriage he is in. I'm assuming that if his wife really did not like his decision she would let him know. (which never happens of course-- since men always make the right decisions...heh... : / )
I think in most christian marriages decisions are usually made together between a husnand and wife, peacefully. Ok, let's get back to reality-- Other people have point4ed out that men and women have God-ordained and unique roles in marriage simply due to being created in the "likeness and image of God." So, if we are created in the likeness and image of God, then we will always be male and female as we were created. I've heard pastors and wise christians say that the Holy Spirit reminds them of a female presence of God, whereas Jesus is of course, a male/brother/king figure. btw, husband and wife should seek God's approval equally on decisions and the marriage. But, that isn't the end of creation. God revealed his presence in the beginning as a Father figure through father Abaraham, Moses and other male leaders. This was because the Lord knew that civilization was still hostile and warlike (we aren't like that any more of course), and women are more civilized and peaceful for the most part, at least stereotypically (according to usual definitions). But, God was revealed as both a father and mother figure. Why else would there be both a father and mother to lead a family. But, we are all unique in how we are raised and the cultures we are raised in and circumstances which shapes how people relate, especially men and women to one another. Some women wouldn't be comfortable in a leadership position, and neither woujld some men. But, women should never stand by quietly and allow men to abuse them or their children. This is a grievous situation. The Bible calls all christians, men and women, to be courageous. It doesn't make a diference a persons stature (large or petite) since the power of God is enough to confront all evil since the fallen demons (fallen angels that rebel against God) are deluded, irrational, blinded, delusional, lying, ranting cowards, like the nutcases that follow them, and it is relatively easy to stand up to them with the help of the power of God. I've heard stories, and seen it depicted in movies, where someone, either a man or woman, stands up to a ranting, angry violent person, and calls upon the name of Jesus-- and the person walks away dazed and confused. We must believe in God's power first, before it happens, usually since God rewards people who believe in the power of God without seeing or hearing or even feeling the presence of divine power. If we feel weak, it is then that God's power is great, just like being crucified with the LORd once we learn to call upon God for help. This is the life of faith.
So, women for the most part, are closer to the heart of God. The Lord came to save our hearts first, not our minds.
God did not send Mary to face Roman execution-- He sent Jesus, the humble, quiet loving warrior. King David was a warrior out of necessity, but just look at the Psalms he wrote that cry out to the heart of God. God is love, not just words. Just look at how many words it took for a lonely guy to make that point?
James said, "faith without works is dead."
Theology with out love is also dead.
So is truth without love as Paul said.
John said All people who love know God in their hearts.
Peter said, referring to his wife, "a woman, without a word, can win over the heart of her husband." (paraphrase)
The Lord said from the mountain of Jesus, "this is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased. HEAR HIM.
Mary said, who was in charge of the catering for the community wedding, to the servants-- "see that you carry out whatever he asks you to do." (Just as she did--"behold the handmaiden of the Lord")
That's all we have to do--
check YES, or NO.
The whole Bible and all creation centers around the marriage between a man and woman, just like at the town of Cana which was located near to the Valley of Meggido--the final battle on earth.
