on page (i don't know which one), i asked when a boy becomes a man.

did anyone give me a number? lol
Like the age of accountability, it differs with each individual.
Myself, I was a grown adult a long time before I became a man.

I didn't realize you wore a yarmulke..........:D

Deuteronomy 4:1 "Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them..........."
Ezekiel 20:5,11,12 "......Thus saith the Lord God; In the day when I chose Israel.......And I gave them my statutes, and shewed them my judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them.[SUP]................[/SUP]Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them............."
But, but, but:

2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

so when does a woman stop having authority over man since the age a boy becoming a man differs?

or is it just when a male becomes an adult?

of course, i'm asking about in ministry.

12 I think. Then they had bar mitswa.
And before that the men taught them. I mean if we go back to the Old Testament lets do it good.

Hmmm... let's see. I had a biological father, 2 foster fathers, a few grandfathers (blood related & in foster care), 5 biological brothers, countless foster brothers, several uncles & male cousins, many male school chums & teachers, had a husband, raised 2 sons, have 4 grandsons, have a son-in-law, have many spiritual sons & brothers, male friends, male bosses & colleagues, male business marketing clients, male neighbors, have dated a few guys.... etc., etc.

I can think of about a zillion emotional expressions on men's faces during my 59 years on this earth.

There is a fantastic amount of truth in that. I believe many people actually NEED to see external, written laws, in black & white, because they are truly afraid, almost terrified, to trust that Christ really can guide their lives from within them.

If they can see and read a set of laws, then they can trust in themselves to keep them. That is probably "safer" to them.
To simmer and reduce this down even further (this fear), they wanted Moses to talk to them because if they approached the mountain they would die. Because no man can see God and continue to live.

So they are afraid of their death. And if they can finagle a way to not have to die, while also seizing the promise, that's what they'll kick and flail around trying to achieve.

But this is common to all men. Who would run willy nilly to their death on a cross unless they had become convinced it was what would give them life? It would actually be stupid to give up your life before you became convinced it was the only way. It's stupid to begin building without counting the cost and agreeing it is worth it. And it's stupid to tear a building down until you have assessed that there is no worth in keeping it and rehabbing it. It is prudent to try to keep the building, if possible, to cut down on the cost.

But don't you think we should just continue on in all our old ways? I mean, it's worked so well...just look at all of the churches and denominations! Best to have such a variety to choose from, don't you think...?:p

"...Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men." (Acts 5:29)
And I think that goes back to Paul when we see Paul say things like ," I don't allow...." Because Paul must obey God and not men.

New American Standard Bible
But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet.

New American Standard Bible
The women are to keep silent in the churches; for they are not permitted to speak, but are to subject themselves, just as the Law also says.

And again, this is in the Local assembly only. they are not to have charge over the local assembly. Paul is not saying that they can't talk or can't minister in other areas.

The world tries to make this simple command into something it is not.

The Word is suppose to conform society.

We have society trying to conform the Word.

I give up. You two or three guys just continue to just rant and ramble.
You don't back up your words with evidence.
I tried to prompt you to do this in a mature academic fashion.
So then milk it is for you. On the tether.
There is no sense in going any further with this with you all.
Continue as you are; you may not die in your sin, but you will in your obstinacy.
Doesn't the proverbs say something about throwing pearls before swine?
And a fool continues to answers the nescient?

If the men who claim to have built their foundation on Peter didn't work to keep us from being scattered, will building the foundation on The Law of Paul work better?

They're not rstricted to just prophesying in the home, just in the church. They prophesy everywhere else.
Again, women aren't forbidden to talk, they're just not allowed to speak in church.

=Miri I have been to "church buildings" where the sum of the congregation has
amounted to 7 and one of them was the pastor - have I spelt that right.

On the other hand I have been to house groups where the number present
has been over 20.

What is the difference may I ask?

Are church buildings holy and homes not?

Is God only present in a church building?

Do pastors only go to church buildings, but not visit homes to preach?

Do only men go to church buildings, while the woman stay at home?

Is God so impotent that he will only give a word of knowledge to someone
in a church building, but is unable to do so in a house or vice versa?

Why is it sinful for a woman to speak in the large setting of a church building
but not at home? If she is saying something God has revealed to her, is God
bothered whether she says it in a church building with 7 people present or in a house
with 20 people.

Why does the size of the building matter to you?

Do you feel in some way that larger church buildings are anointed but homes
cannot be?

Can you not see how strange your belief is that women can speak in their own
house if they have a word of knowledge to share, but not in another building.
What is so special about the typical church building that you have come to
this conclusion.

Incidentally the majority of the work of Jesus was done in the open air so
that completely blows the definition of "church" out of the water.

Matthew 18:20 NKJV
[20] For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the
midst of them."

Bump - can someone please give me the definition of church. I see no one has
answered this. For the people who are saying woman must zip it in church, I ask
you again, what is church.

Welcome to the reigning theme/methodology of the CC Bible Discussion Forum. :)

(It's best taken in very small doses, and at a very long distance for one's own personal safety, or you might get caught in the crossfire when all the rocks are thrown.)

Good advice.
I said my morning prayers, read the word. Now I have to distance myself a little from the insanity of the none answer answers.
I am going to the gym work out...
