Not a Catholic, but a highly liturgical Presbyterian. Some evangelicals say I'm too Catholic. Oh well, if that makes me like G.K. Chesterton or Orestes Brownson I'll take it as a compliment.

I meant that most of the threads in the Bible Discussion forum turn into horrible debates.

I agree with you on this. I grew up a Catholic but became overwhelmed with all of the rules. Still, I found myself at peace when attending mass. I believe that all religions and denominations have rules which seem contrary to scripture.

What you don't understand is that for Protestant believers it's not about simply discussing different beliefs, it's about examining what Scripture presents.

Well, as a Protestant believer, I believe the best way to expose someone else to what scripture says is through open discussion, not by simply calling others heretics and pagans.

Jesus called the Pharisees a few things, but he did not make the same statement about all the people who went to the temple and listened to the priests preach. Methinks your brush is a bit too broad.

I've had some of you ask me what my belief is. You already know that I am a Catholic. Here go's.
Did you know that the Bible is a Catholic book. Yes it is. I believe Catholicism is the true faith. Because of the Eucharist.
The Eucharist is the body and blood of Christ.
In Corinthians 11:23-26 St. Paul echoes the words Jesus said over the bread and wine, at the first Eucharist. Which is the Last Supper. He said This is my body...... This is my blood...

In fact, Jesus states repeatedly that whoever eats his flesh and drinks his blood would have eternal life. see ( Jn. 6:51-56)
Some of his followers objected to this statement. As a result they left him. See (Jn 6:66) But you don't see him calling them back and saying ( I was kidding. You don't really have to. Or wait you misunderstood! I was only speaking symbolically.)
No he didn't. Instead, he let them go. (Mt 26:26-28) Nothing in these passages suggest that our Lord was speaking symbolically or kidding around.

For me the Eucharist is the most important part of being a Catholic. It is what makes us stand out from other religions. It's the one thing that only the Catholic church has. There are a lot of things that the Catholic church believes. But the Eucharist is the most important part of being a Catholic. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I was born and raised in the Roman Catholic Church. I was Baptized as a baby in the Roman Catholic Church. I was confirmed in the Roman Catholic Church. I spent most of my youth in the Roman Catholic Church going to many classes learning about the Roman Catholic Church. All of my friends were in the Roman Catholic Church.

When i started college i made many new friends who were not Roman Catholics. They were sharing many things with me that was in the Scriptures. When i asked my Priest about these he told me i would go to Hell if i keep listening to them. That seemed very harsh. Which led me to investigate the Scriptures closer to see what they said. After much study i found out the Roman Catholic Church was lying to me.

I left the Roman Catholic Church to be Baptized in a True Christian Church. I have never looked back. The Truth is in the Scriptures from the Holy Spirit, not from the Roman Catholic Church like i was taught.

Its a shame to the Roman Catholic Church that they deceive so many people to keep them in bondage to the Roman Catholic Church.

Keep in mind the sites official position is that they deny Catholicism as a denomination of the Christian church, so while there are some on here, mostly they sit in the BDF and argue.​

You're certainly welcome to comment on any thread, though we have a friendly-critical term for older threads which people 'resurrect' by commenting on them: zombie threads. You can see the date of the last post in the upper-left corner (in this case, the most recent prior to yours was May 26, 2015). At least in the Singles forum, you're generally less likely to receive said criticism if you keep your comments on track with the first page or two of threads. You may start a new thread too. :)
