Solving the hunger and homeless crisis doesn't come down to money, but education. It's like fixing a broken vehicle, no matter how money you have it can't be fixed if the person who fixes it is uneducated. Giving money for food and shelters is not enough, it just comes down to educating people how to care for themselves. This is why the problem has never been fixed. Of all the money thats been given is just like sowing a patch over a big hole, it will only get bigger Jesus said.

And he's right.

While I think what you say may be true of a few, I suspect you really have not spent much time around homeless people. Some are mentally ill, some are addicts who cannot physically care for themselves. Some are victims of a string of unfortunate circumstances. Some couldn't care for themselves even if they were educated, because of emotional, spiritual or medical complications. Some, for want of adventure or for political reasons, choose to live on the welfare of others. There are likely many more reasons. Real life is complicated and does not fit well in neat little boxes.

It's more simple that.

Of course many people here in the States are well educated, experienced and homeless.
Or they are working in jobs well below their education, which means people with less education lose those low level jobs and end up homeless.
There are more people with educations than there are jobs to give them in most fields.
A few years back funding was cut for housing functionally mentally ill. People who could hold down basic jobs, but still needed regular monitoring and housing. When the funding was cut for these Working people most ended up homeless because the places they lived and who were providing them mental care, we're shut down.
So is education really the magic solution?
Im with Dino, this isn't a simple solution with one obvious answer. It's a multi tiered problem and needs a more complete solution.

I mean soul education not worldly education, I should have defined that sorry.

Hasn't this lead balloon crash landed yet?

If it were education, there would be no hunger or homeless people in any First World Nation.

I have a college degree. I come from well-off who came from polo-ponies and charity balls rich! (We're talking people with winter mansions AND summer mansions.) I've got enough knowledge to have been a bookkeeper, a counselor, a writer and a marketer. The only things that kept us from living in our car while hubby was on chemo was God's grace, Welfare, and a well-off father.

Stop believing the malarkey your teachers are feeding you. (Jesus never said anything about "it getting bigger.")

It's insane that people get homeless. One guy on another forum, christian, ministered to people, also helped homeless people, he helped everyone. Then he lost his job, nobody cared, he was afraid he'd get homeless and posted that he was ready to meet his Maker. He seriously wanted to kill himself. What is this?? I said if they're all too selfish to take you in their home and the government doesn't care for you come to Holland. I'll ask some people for money for a flight and you can stay here. Didn't know what else to say. Well it helped, he added me on Facebook, turned out to be a young guy with parents. Can't your parents just take you in? And he had so many friends. Unbelievable. He's doing good now luckily.

Mark 14:7
For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always.

There have always been poor and there will always be until our Lord returns.
As has been stated, some by circumstance beyond their control, and some by choice.
Some are just lazy, refuse to learn or work. They have no self pride.
This country has made it possible for those lazy to live without working.

I met a guy through work named Joe Walls who was a financier with a well known annuity fund for educational securities. He was a friendly and well grounded sort of guy who explained to us less educated and less fortuned souls the secrets to his success. He told us that when he first started out he bought an apple for a nickel. Well instead of eating it right off he took that apple home and shined it up. He said you could comb your hair in the reflection. He sold that apple the next day for a dime and doubled his money. Instead of spending that dime on himself he bought two more apples and did the same thing and then continued this activity until he had amassed over $10.38. Then his wife's father croaked and they inherited a million dollars.

I guess though that some people would rather eat than get educated. Poor dumb souls.

The real dumb ones are the ones that get a terrific education and make a lot of money and work their socks off, only to give 40 percent to the rest that thinks: hey why should I work a day more if with one less my house becomes cheaper or the lazy drugaddict who refuses to work.

Is this thread about gold diggers now? I don't understand it anymore.
Gold diggers? Did same troll come back again? If this guy starts apologizing for making the mistake of thinking God would make him rich so Christians are stupid, then I think you're on to something here.
