Since "repent" means to 'change your mind' and choose to follow Jesus.... if you repent again, you would be changing your mind about following Jesus.... or, deciding NOT to follow Him.

And I ain't about to do THAT.

Funny you should bring this up. I was just reading about this the other day:TEMPLE OF BAAL TO GO UP IN NEW YORK AND LONDON
Visitors next month to Times Square in New York or Leicester Square in London are in for a culture shock – a life-size reproduction of the Temple of Baal.

Needless to say, the exhibition of a symbol of paganism, child sacrifice and ritual prostitution – well-known to readers of the Bible – has raised concerns.
The display, however is part of World Heritage Week and is meant by organizers from the Institute of Digital Archaeology as a statement of “defiance” against ISIS, the Islamic terror group, that destroyed the Temple of Baal in Palmyra, Syria, in August 2015.
The original structure, dedicated to the god Bel, or Baal, in A.D. 32 – approximately the time of the crucifixion of Jesus – stood nearly 2,000 years before ISIS leveled the site along with many others. Prior to the current war in Syria, the ancient site had over 150,000 visitors a year.
Using a database of thousands of images, the Institute for Digital Archaeology is creating a full-sized, 50-foot tall, 3D-printed replica of the entrance arch to the temple. The work is being done in China. Only the replica of the arch is being displayed.
The Bible’s Old Testament frequently condemns the worship of false idols, with Baal – which means “Lord” – most often singled out. Baal worship, common in the biblical Levant, spread across the Mediterranean, becoming dominant in North Africa’s Carthage, where archaeologists have excavated an extensive cemetery with remains of sacrificed children. The name of the famous Carthaginian leader, Hannibal, is made up in part of the name “Baal.”
Find out what you’ve been missing. Get “Shocked by the Bible: The Most Astonishing Facts You’ve Never Been Told.” personally autographed by the author.
Michael Snyder, writing on the blog “End of the American Dream,” alerted his readers to the shocking idea of a pagan temple being erected in Times Square, saying “Most non-religious Americans don’t understand who Baal was, nor do they really care. But the truth is that many of the elements of ancient Baal worship are being mirrored in our society in 2016.
“So considering the child sacrifice and sexual immorality that we are engaged in today, perhaps it is only natural for us to have a Temple of Baal in Times Square.
In a 2008 article, WND columnist Matt Barber explained some of the elements of Baal worship.
“The principal pillars of Baalism were child sacrifice, sexual immorality (both heterosexual and homosexual) and pantheism (reverence of creation over the Creator).
“Ritualistic Baal worship, in sum, looked a little like this: Adults would gather around the altar of Baal. Infants would then be burned alive as a sacrificial offering to the deity. Amid horrific screams and the stench of charred human flesh, congregants – men and women alike – would engage in bisexual orgies. The ritual of convenience was intended to produce economic prosperity by prompting Baal to bring rain for the fertility of “mother earth.”
“The natural consequences of such behavior – pregnancy and childbirth – and the associated financial burdens of “unplanned parenthood” were easily offset. One could either choose to engage in homosexual conduct or – with child sacrifice available on demand – could simply take part in another fertility ceremony to ‘terminate’ the unwanted child.”
Geoffrey Grider, writing in “Now the End Begins,” said bringing the Temple of Baal to New York City was quite fitting.
“In 2016, we have become a nation that does not want God, does not want His Book, and most importantly has locked His Son Jesus Christ outside the doors of the professing Christian church. We have become greedy, selfie-centered, powerless wanderers, not realizing that the judgement of God has already fallen down upon us.
“For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.” 1 Thessalonians 5:3 (KJV)
“Many are saying that recreating the Temple of Baal in New York and London will ‘open a portal’ to sinister forces, and that the planets will be aligned in such a way during that time as to portend dark things. Now I don’t know about that, I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens but I do know this. For the last 8 years as a nation we have begged God to leave us alone and to remove Himself from our affairs.
“He has.”
Eight years ago, Barber echoed the same sentiments.
“Modern liberalism deviates little from its ancient predecessor. While its macabre rituals have been sanitized with flowery and euphemistic terms of art, its core tenets and practices remain eerily similar. The worship of “fertility” has been replaced with worship of “reproductive freedom” or “choice.” Child sacrifice via burnt offering has been updated, ever so slightly, to become child sacrifice by way of abortion. The ritualistic promotion, practice and celebration of both heterosexual and homosexual immorality and promiscuity have been carefully whitewashed – yet wholeheartedly embraced – by the cults of radical feminism, militant “gay rights” and “comprehensive sex education.” And, the pantheistic worship of “mother earth” has been substituted – in name only – for radical environmentalism.”

Thanks for the link. I did become interested in the article, but your copy/paste was too small for me to read. (I don't ever remember how to zoom online, only in Word.)

The article did something weird to me. First it reminded me of the artist paid by The Endowment of the Arts to do a display of a jar of urine with an upside down cross in it. That exhibition also happened in NYC, (I think in the 70's, but don't accept that as solid fact -- just my often-wrong memory), to uproar, but all the uproar did was make more people know about it. (There is no such thing as bad publicity.)

Then I realized I don't care enough to do anything about it. I'm just getting into the Temple of Baal some more in my Bible studying, so I still remember the first time Baal shows up in the Bible. What they did for "him" was atrocious, and the thought they'll resurrect it again just to say something to ISIS? Nah, that's not the only reason. It has to do with thumbing their noses at God too.

BUT, of all the things to rally against, and how little time I have just to recover from the stuff I'm physically doing now? It's not enough to protest it.

Sad statement from a believer, isn't it? How much gets by simply because so much goes by?

So, thanks for the article.

I also got stuck into which of those ruins was Baal's temple, since that's an age old archeological debate too. Now I hope neither one ever was and everyone finds out on Judgement Day. (I keep thinking Judgement Day is the beginning of God teaching me everything I got wrong and yet I'm firmly convinced I ot right.)

Richard,
You haven't been here long enough to assume the "we" word in your posts that way.

Lynn is one of my favorite people, but when you poke her... expect to get yourself clawed a little bit.

Now, may I suggest you back up, and take another look at all her posts before you start calling her an instigator?
There are more than just us here monitoring the discussions. Depleted wants to talk about training cats in this thread. Do you condone that?

Check any other thread on here.... sometimes there are short "side" discussions that occur.. no harm, no foul.

She always comes back on track, usually with something worth listening to, and learning from... may I suggest...?

I remember when you were into harmonizing scripture, being sensitive and understanding, a genuinely sweet guy, always into bringing God's word to light om different situations. What happened to you in the last six months?
And that's a pernicious lie. At the outset getting a login here, I had Adventists and other cults in a rage, for exposing the truth about Ellen White and others, was even threatened if I mentioned the name Ellen White again. I was never, ever milktoast, never once caring for being a man pleaser, have consistently, all along, called a spade a spade when I found it called for.

I am sorry for any trouble you have, but you don't seem to consider some of us have had horrendous difficulties, suffering and losses in our lives, also, worse than any you've expressed, by long shot, but this isn't an excuse for being somebody cruising for conflict, bragging about being no lady. I could ask you a similar question, when you became a belligerent person, in a state of constant war, at the drop of a hat, a busybody, stirring a cauldron of conflict. What a hypocrite, you state I'm the one lacking sweetness!

But this is an outright lie, that I'm in any way different, a vile defamation. This is why I've had you on ignore, took you off, but have you back on ignore. Don't go away mad, just go away, come back when you've learned to at least be civilized, that it's no virtue, not being a lady, spreading your fruit of bitterness and gratuitous defamations.

Sorry. My computer skillz are abysmal. Like I'd prefer to just quote the stuff you said about the font being small, but of course I had to do the whole post!

One of these days I'll get some lessons in school.

Richard, I haven't read all your posts so I'm not sure what is going on, but I can tell you that you have upset several wonderful, brothers and especially sisters in the Lord. You've been here THREE DAYS! Is THIS really the rep you want for yourself here? Check your heart bro, I'm not putting you down. Maybe some love is missing, EVEN IF you think your right.

Peace, Love, and Grace to you
Maybe if they had not tried to make me out to be a lucifer worshipper I would be more tolerant. They congregated their thoughts and made up whatever lies they wanted to about me and spread false word about who I am without even asking who I am. So the offence lays on them and their contradictions and false statements of "who they believe I am" versus who I actually am.

I have been 7 years in Celibacy for good reason, choice, my choice. Did anyone ask? I can only imagine what else has been going through their minds. I am and have always been straight.

I have studied the ways of God for a VERY long time and have been witness to the atrocities of the lower denomination(s).

Pontificating leads to false assumptions, which some turn into their own beliefs (lies) and make facts without any solid and real foundation to build on.

This website is not a solid basis of Religion in any way shape or form. It is a place where thoughts and ideas are put onto page so to speak. If I was here for a popularity contest, I would have lied and followed like a mindless sheep, instead I chose truth and integrity. Do I make mistakes, of course, we all do. But that does not mean that anyone should be demoralized about it because of any length, duration or amount of posts or reputation that the people here demand to deem one worthy.

Seriously, what is your problem. We have had enough of your instigating.
Now this is instigating --

Who is We? Is that the royal we, the self-righteous crowd you hang with, (if you actually hung with anyone on this site), or simply a sense that you are entitled enough to assume all think like you.

You have absolutely no idea that I'm the same chick who stuck up for you on the unicorn post, do you? As long as someone agrees with you, you're all lovey-dovey. If they don't, then suddenly it's "instigate" and "we." The reality is you don't even remember anyone but yourself.

Grow up! And stop hiding behind "we." There is no committee that determines what is or isn't acceptable except for the owner and the mods. You're neither.

I didn't even have any sense of who you were until this thread where everyone who agreed with what you really thought (having told no one what you were really thinking at the beginning of this thread) were wonderful righteous people, and I, alone, am the instigator. (Had you actually read what people were saying, you'd notice 95% were instigating one thing or another. lol)

Clue! Lots of instigating on this post, and you beat me to that punch before I even knew that was your plan. (My plan was just to find out why you'd ask, since dang! Not like this forum hasn't had enough of homosexual-hatred posts. I thought maybe the guy who talked about a Russian unicorn might not go for the traditional hate, so I gave you the benefit of a doubt and asked.) You only notice it when it's something you disagree with.

I usually don't come within ten feet of posts like this because this is what usually happens. "Let's all tell homosexuals how evil they are because that's our 'truth!'"

And the only reason I entered this time, is because I honestly didn't know why you asked. I wouldn't have come back, except someone liked what I said, I'm nosy, and want to find out what I did say. BUT you did ask that we lay it all "on the plates."

So, next time -- at least tell what plates we must use, because obviously they MUST match your serving set, or we're just instigators!

Grow up!

(And that, Babe, is instigating from someone who knows how to very well.)

Since "repent" means to 'change your mind' and choose to follow Jesus.... if you repent again, you would be changing your mind about following Jesus.... or, deciding NOT to follow Him.

And I ain't about to do THAT.

I love how words can be inadvertently changed just by a tiny little miswording.

That's not what Jesus said, as per the quote given from John 19:11. Jesus also said, "Truly I tell you, people can be forgiven all their sins and every slander they utter, but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; they are guilty of an eternal sin." Mark 3:28-29
Something that needs to be understood Is JESUS was fully man and fully GOD.

Sounds like you are taking off the fully man part.

IE.
Why did JESUS say he didn't know when GOD was coming back?

Blinders on tight, STILL? Two others were off on that off-topic comment, and yet you only noticed me! (Three others, if you count the smart guy who took Auntie's advice and skedaddled.)

I admit, it was off-topic. But considering where the topic went, it seemed like a wise time to take it off-topic. Training cats v. scolding homosexuals?

No contest!

Besides, aren't you off-topic here too?

BTW, I'll answer your question for me. I don't remember ever being a lady, keeping quiet, not expressing what I think, or nosy.

And, as you so "graciously" bullied someone else, back at you. You aren't the Gestapo either. At least pretend you don't dictate who gets to stay what on this site. Not yours either. Good thing you don't. For the amount of vile coming out of you right now, it's a toss up on which of us gets banned first.
