Baal worship, common in the biblical Levant, spread across the Mediterranean, becoming dominant in North Africa’s Carthage, where archaeologists have excavated an extensive cemetery with remains of sacrificed children. The name of the famous Carthaginian leader, Hannibal, is made up in part of the name “Baal.”

We have become greedy, selfie-centered, powerless wanderers, not realizing that the judgement of God has already fallen down upon us.
“For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.” 1 Thessalonians 5:3 (KJV)
“Many are saying that recreating the Temple of Baal in New York and London will ‘open a portal’ to sinister forces, and that the planets will be aligned in such a way during that time as to portend dark things. Now I don’t know about that, I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens but I do know this. Thanks for the link. I did become interested in the article, but your copy/paste was too small for me to read. (I don't ever remember how to zoom online, only in Word.)

The article did something weird to me. First it reminded me of the artist paid by The Endowment of the Arts to do a display of a jar of urine with an upside down cross in it. That exhibition also happened in NYC, (I think in the 70's, but don't accept that as solid fact -- just my often-wrong memory), to uproar, but all the uproar did was make more people know about it. (There is no such thing as bad publicity.)

Then I realized I don't care enough to do anything about it. I'm just getting into the Temple of Baal some more in my Bible studying, so I still remember the first time Baal shows up in the Bible. What they did for "him" was atrocious, and the thought they'll resurrect it again just to say something to ISIS? Nah, that's not the only reason. It has to do with thumbing their noses at God too.

BUT, of all the things to rally against, and how little time I have just to recover from the stuff I'm physically doing now? It's not enough to protest it.
