Copy pasting is fine but I am aware of lot of bias or misquotations or misinterpretation. I have experienced that a lot with athiests & Jehowah witnesses

Ya I thought I was being funny. Apparently thats worth a sarcastic remark from Alex. There is nothing here in the rules against copy/pasting. Only you know the research you did but I know I read a lot of info online and at times,if it lends itself to the conversation,I will copy and paste it. Plenty of people here do,there is nothing wrong with it. At least what you are posting is the truth. So to be clear,I'm on your side.

the issue I was responding to was Bowman's charge of "no research". I believe this remains unsupported... I can't think of how anyone would support the claim of "no research".

I haven't seen that in what Magenta posts. Either way the title is "Similarities in Islam and Christianity" and the only similarities there are is where Muhammad plagiarized the Bible. Speaking of plagiarism... He mixed several beliefs and came up with the demonic religion of Islam.
 
also, I think copy/paste is fine. if someone else thinks it's too long to respond to, they can just respond to a section.

He can't,its just something people throw out to prove they know more than the other person. Unless we're sitting beside Magenta as she types we don't know what research she has done.

To me anything not from Muslim source is not acceptable. Example is few posts back bowman claiming Muslims believe in Jesus being God which is not even close. I agree on right and disagree on wrong. I condemn both

I understand. I think you are also somewhat aware that I have participated in quite a few threads concerning Islam during my time here. It is not like I just jumped onto this thread cold and slammed some copy-pasta onto the board being totally ignorant of anything regarding Islam. Charging me with not having done any research at all is completely unfounded, and then to compound that error with the false charge of plagiarism...

I've heard the jehovah's witnesses are encouraged to use "theocratic tact"... which amount to misleading, imo.

I fail to see why you are so hung up on saying she did "no research"..

Where do you go to do YOUR research? The library? MOST people research on the web, as it IS the 21st century. If I find something I agree with, I will cut and paste.

Or do you postulate that if I don't re-write it in my own words, I have not done "true" research? How absurd.

Why don't we just drop the whole subterfuge about research, and discuss what was posted. Was what Magenta posted incorrect? THAT'S where the research needs to be. If you consider it incorrect, or doubtful, research it yourself, to prove it wrong.

It looked to me to be direct quotes from the Q'uran (or however they spell it this week) .... how could that be misrepresenting their stance on violence against non-Muslims?

Let's either have a discussion on the subject matter, or just choose up sides and go somewhere else...

There are several forms of lying to non-believers that are permitted
under certain circumstances, the best known being taqiyya.

Ok,but that is your criteria. Everyone is free to post how they wish, I know you understand that. And we agree,Muslims do not believe Jesus is God. He didn't copy/paste it,but he's still wrong. Not trying to make enemies with anyone here. But I have to back up Magentas right to post however she wishes.

Ive seen Magenta site her sources when pasting info often, if you want to disprove what she posted, check her sources, dont just make the claim that all she did was copy paste info. People online do that all the time.

Imagine being in an argument about the bible, and you posted a bible verse, and someone argued back with "your just copy pasting!" Thats not a good argument : p If someone here actually shows the verse of the quran they pasted from another site, you can easily google it and read it for yourself to see if its been changed or taken out of context. I dont see how "you copy pasted that" is an argument.
