Oh daughter, God loves you so much, He looked death in the eye for you and actually walked through the gates of hell so you will not have to, Praise His Holy name.

There is nothing in all creation that can separate you from the Love of God in Christ Jesus. Go there first, seek Gods kingdom and righteousness in your life before all else, and He WILL ,lead you into all truth. Anything you need for your comfort He will provide, anything for you to be able to cope with life with He will provide.

Paul talks about certain things in this world that we come across as being 'lawful' but not expedient. Meaning everything God has made is OK, but its use and its benefits to you should always be weighed against what is shown to the world as befitting a child of God.

Not living our lives to bring our faith into dis-repute, but against all opposition to live our lives to His Glory. If that includes your want, so be it, I can not call it evil, but know the immense burden you are inflicting on yourself. God will not be mocked Jesus the name above every name will in due course demand an answer for all our deeds and actions, and whether we used the freedoms we have in Him for good or ill.

Be careful dear sister, and seek Jesus first, His yoke will make light any burden you face, He will be your rest and comfort, trust Him.
God bless.

I would not use cannabis b/c as a medical person, it hits the same opioid receptors in the brain and gut (intestines) and some studies have shown it to be neurotoxic (killing brain cells). There are some medicines derived from cannabis (b/c it especially is constipating so IBS people like to use it) but in general you should avoid it. It's not good for you and only makes you dumber by killing your brain cells.....

God made mercury. Try drinking some mercury. Sorry if that's a little blunt (pardon the pun). Yes, smoking marijuana is a sin. It impairs our mental faculties, slows us down, deadens us. That's not what God wants. He wants us totally ourselves, clear and alive. You don't need it, anyway. Any desire you have can be fulfilled in God.

Don't drink mercury lol....it was a joke about being a human thermometer b/c in the old days thermometers had mercury inside glass tubes only thing was when the glass tubes break mercury goes into the kids mouth and could cause mercury toxicity affecting the brain, kidneys, lungs and other organs. Don't drink mercury!

Dumber? Lol!

Who's dumb? Cannabis users?

Cannabis messes up your memory and locomotor functions thus making you prone to clumsiness and accidents. The negative effects outweigh the benefits. So forget it. Its not worth it.

If you drink mercury you'll die. What I meant was that God created a lot of things, that doesn't mean they are good for human consumption.

Luckily I couldn't have it and had to throw up when I smoked one. Otherwise I had become addicted. To stop smoking cigs even took me years. Did it 6 times or so. I was married to a guy who was on cannabis. This whole country is on cannabis. Totally hate the smell now. It's a gate way drug Michael Brown said, who used to be on hard drugs.
I told my ex to stop it. He said: it's only a plant and you take 8 oxazepam a day. What's the difference? I didn't convince him, but I stopped immediately when he said that.

This is wonderful advice. The OP would do well to pay attention to it. :)

My question is this: if you're trying to grow and change, and leave your past behind, then why do you wish to stay tied to the one thing that will keep dragging you back into that past? Seems foolish to me. Break ALL ties with your past or you'll never advance in your walk with God. Also, I've said this before, but you need to capitalize "God" and "Jesus". :)

My whole life got ruined because of oxazepam, prozac and then pot. I was married but he wanted to divorce. I smoked pot in the mental institution. Then God said I was now married to another guy and couldn't go back. He asked me to come back. Well I thought it was God but it was the devil. It opens the door to the spiritual realm, the demonic. Didn't take long before I lived in sin and fell from my faith.
But it's just a plant.

God also gave us the poison ivy plant. Doesn't mean he intended for us to use it. :/

So...okay I will be the odd woman out not as if I am not usually that one. But before I give my stance on this. PLEASE NOTE that stating GOD made the plant is not a valid argument. He also made the plant Cocaine derives from. IT IS THE SIN of the world in which elevates GODS purposes with all things to make it poisonous to the human body.

Now that being said, I am going to have to point out your age and wonder what experience you have with cannabis to be a supporter?

As to me I fully support cannabis for medical reasons. I personally have witnessed the difference it makes in the lives of the terminally ill. Especially when FDA approved narcotics were doing nothing to ease the pain and anger within the person.

Please note this does not mean that I support it for recreational use. I also do not support states approving to legalize it for all uses.

And though I have never partaken of it, I have been in numerous rooms filled with it and will pass of just what the second hand smoke does to my mind.

Then again I am a woman who needs to be in control, so this makes sense why I would never take anything that alters my mind or senses.

Oh and please don't even attack me for my support of it for medical purposes. Until you have been in my shoes and witnessed the pain of loves ones like me and seen how it gives relief you won't understand.

Whoa there, I have not condemned you, but is my duty in Christ to guide you, I have not said "You must not smoke weed", but in light of others opinions I would guide you to what Paul says about offending others;
[h=1]Romans 14[/h] [h=3]The Weak and the Strong[/h]14 Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters. (And whether you agree or not this is a disputable matter) [SUP]2 [/SUP]One person’s faith allows them to eat anything, but another, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. [SUP]3 [/SUP]The one who eats everything must not treat with contempt the one who does not, and the one who does not eat everything must not judge the one who does, for God has accepted them. (and I accept that God has accepted you) [SUP]4 [/SUP]Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? (and I am not, please believe me)To their own master, servants stand or fall. And they will stand, for the Lord is able to make them stand.

[SUP]5 [/SUP]One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind. [SUP]6 [/SUP]Whoever regards one day as special does so to the Lord. Whoever eats meat does so to the Lord, for they give thanks to God; and whoever abstains does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God. [SUP]7 [/SUP]For none of us lives for ourselves alone, and none of us dies for ourselves alone. [SUP]8 [/SUP]If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. [SUP]9 [/SUP]For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.

[SUP]10 [/SUP]You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister[SUP][a][/SUP]? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat. [SUP]11 [/SUP]It is written:

“‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord,
‘every knee will bow before me;
every tongue will acknowledge God.’”[SUP][b][/SUP]

[SUP]12 [/SUP]So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.

[SUP]13 [/SUP]Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. (I haven't judged you at all, if you think I have I apologise, I am concerned, and the title of your post caught my eye and I do believe there are no coincidences in the household of faith, just God-incidences) Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister. [SUP]14 [/SUP]I am convinced, being fully persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean in itself (See, even weed). But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for that person it is unclean. [SUP]15 [/SUP]If your brother or sister is distressed because of what you eat, you are no longer acting in love. Do not by your eating (or smoking) destroy someone for whom Christ died.

This is the burden I mentioned, and it can be a biggie, I like a drink as well as the next person and it is true Jesus changed 130 gallons of water into wine, that must have been some party! But Jesus said "as oft as you drink it, do it in remembrance of me". With the indwelling of the Holy Spirit our excesses are curtailed.

If God has allowed you the freedom to use this plant then my concern would be that when doing so, you yourself would be mindful and thankful to God for what He has provided. In this I ask you in all humility to not spend your money on it. with such a controversial thing, being seen to be Holy is very important. When offered say a resounding thank you to God, out loud, because He provided this in the first place, so those who see and hear you will know Jesus has been in their midst.

God bless.

(I will say this, in your quiet place, Jesus will let you know.)
