When you come into a room full of people who have a lot of years of experience behind them and most are Christian and you ask if any of them do something that's illegal in most states...well...you're not going to get many "Yeah, I smoke all the time" responses.

People react strongly to this topic, and more so when it's brought up by someone underage. We care, that's all.

 Jesus did not get drunk,he was not intoxicated. Personally I dont believe Jesus drank fermented wine,and if it was fermented it was very little,not at all like we have today. The Bible is very specific about being intoxicated.

Alright, I was under the impression that intoxicated simply meant feeling the effects of a drink, I didn't realize it was synonymous with being drunk.

I don't think it was grape juice or weak wine. The headwaiter's description of the wine that Jesus created from water, was a wine that can get people drunk. 'people serve the good wine first, and then when everyone is drunk they serve the cheap stuff'. Jesus was also accused of being a drunkard. Also there's this

He causes the grass to grow for the cattle,
And vegetation for the labor of man,
So that he may bring forth food from the earth,
And wine which makes man’s heart glad,
So that he may make his face glisten with oil,
And food which sustains man’s heart.

Do grape juice or weak wine make people glad? With anything there is a point of excess, and that point varies from person to person. I think we were meant to enjoy things up to that point.

No one needs to do any deep praying to hear what God says on the matter. God already said this: if it is against the law, we are not to do it. We are to be model citizens by the letter of the law.​
 
Look kid, you're not going to get anyone to agree with you so you can feel less guilty about toking. It's as simple as that. When you ask someone "Have you ever..." or "Do you..." that's the psychological equivalent to "Hey, I'm looking for someone to tell me it's okay if I do this."



You're not going to find that around her honey. If you're looking for valid, Godly advice, then great. There are some non crazy people here that can really help fellow Christians out. But you're obviously going to do what you're going to do. You already posted that you didn't bother to read the replies.

Some testimonies in cc are from people who have been delivered from drugs by God. Don't ask God to deliver you to them. Really?

Which law? State, or Federal? Are we in disobedience to God's word if we take a hit in New Zealand, but not so if done in the Netherlands?

Yes, exactly as you've posited it.

While it seems to suddenly be complicated because of differing laws in differing provinces, it's exactly the same as this:
It is legal for me to drive 80 mph in certain parts of Texas, and in zero parts of New Mexico. Therefore, I do not drive 80 mph in New Mexico, and I DO drive 80mph in the parts of Texas where it is allowed.

I know I'm speaking from a US-centric point of view, but it still lends itself to towards the truth of the matter. In the US, non-medical use of cannabis is restricted to two states. If we are following the letter of the law, but we are so enamoured by recreational cannabis that we would uproot our entire life just to move to Washington or Colorado (or even the Netherlands)...what does this action say about who (or what) that person is serving? Is that person truly serving God, or are they serving their own flesh?

Would you apply that to prayer bans in schools, or performing gay marriages?

Would a christian in nazi germany have been obligated to be a model citizen? Would those who hid jews from the SS be going against God's will?

This idea of following the law is generally true but there are plenty of exceptions to be found when the laws are wrongful.

These days that doesn't work anymore, not in the Netherlands. The laws are quite lawless.

For the love of Moses. Lol where did you pull that from. So funny.

Unfortunately this 17 almost 18 year old refuses to listen to sound advice,
she gets grumpy at anyone who disagrees with her and those who pamper her
by being understanding and nice, are not doing her any favours.

So far she has posted she has gotten into bother due to her attractiveness, with
things starting up around 12 years of age. Got into porn, likes pot, likes older men,
was attracted to women, doesn't want to finish schooling, doesn't go to church, thinks
she is a Christian. Oh and the only good thing posted, she has fabulous parents.

My worry is that she is going to get herself in a whole lot of trouble
before she sees the problems she is setting up for herself.

For some people unfortunately the only way they learn is via the hard way.

If I was one of her fabulous parents I would be tearing my hair out.
