Can someone suggest light exercise for a senior citizen in 80s who needs to reduce waistline? I think person could breathe/move better if some lbs are lost, although person is not really overweight. With diabetes and macular degeneration.. i mention this last in case someone also has natural suggests to help deal w/ that. Thanks.

A light medicine ball(5 pounds or less) could also work the abdominal area. Have them sit straight in an armless chair with the ball extended in front of them, then exhale as they bring it up over their head - inhaling as they bring it back to the starting position. You could also get one of those rubber dumbbells(2-5 pounds) and use it in the same way.
If you have stairs or a step, they can bring one leg onto the step, lift the other but don't put it down - hold that position for 3-5 seconds and then switch legs. That's good for legs and stability.
Just make sure they're stretching to increase range of motion and add things to increase strength and stability along with the cardio.
