Since I may have hurt some feelings with my "handwriting" remark. I just want you to know that I also print things. I wrote this back in 7th grade. My teacher did the neat artwork for me. (Notice that I misspelled "handwriting" in the last post?)

Brother, it's like your teacher was a Medieval monk or something. Those skills!

Monks painted flowers, birds and butterflies?
Yes! Monks during the Middle Ages and Renaissance were generally the ones primarily responsible for copying and illustrating the Bible (and probably some other books, too). The illustrations were called "illuminations." It was really a very cool art form.

This is about "normal" for me now, but I have been shocked into going back to practicing.

Tintin, there is a lot to be said for your practice of earning a "pen license."
Willie, that's beautiful handwriting. :) ...It's sad really. They are doing away with "handwriting" in schools now. My daughter is 15 and she has problems even reading cursive writing. It's going to be a lost art. :( Soon, they'll have to have specialist, historians, or scholars to read the US Deceleration of Independence - sad.

Thank you for the kind compliment, but I know how I used to write, and THIS is a horrible mess compared to how I wrote several years ago... and especially in my teens and twenties. But..... time marches on, and we often can do little but stand and watch it go by.

That's correct.

And they no longer teach reading the way that actually worked... nor do they teach straight-forward, uncomplicated math anymore. It seems, if it works, the Education Officials want to change it for something that doesn't.

ah ok! The math > common core. And you are absolutely correct that they are doing things that do not make any sense whatsoever. BUT it does have an end result. The result is to dumb down studetst and make them ALL avg or less than avg. Its part of the globalist plan. That is one reason why we need Trump to be our president! He is going to do away with alot of the insane things in place now. (I know you are a trump fan. thats why I elaborated:))
