I'm tired of living in this so-called "fallen world." Call me a Pharisee, but it seems like I'm the only one concerned about "righteousness." Maybe that's because I'm tired of hearing about mothers killing their children, about husbands abusing their wives, about people dying of overdoses because they want relief from their awful lives.

I don't care if God has a plan. I don't care if this is a fallen world. Call me childish, but I'm angry about it. I barely watch the news anymore because it depresses me. Sometimes I hate being a female in a man's world. I want to marry but there's always the risk of divorce or catching my husband using pornography, etc.

I hate these ongoing wars against God's children. What loving father would allow such atrocities to happen to them? I don't care if the Bible said it would happen. I'm so blessed and I feel guilty for it. No amount of money donations or preaching is going to change some people's minds. I may be cynical, but at least I have reason to be.

Read Phil 4:8. Memorize it and do it. It will help. You are not in this world but you are of it. Be the light and the salt. From the mouth speaks the abundance of the heart.
We all see what you see. You are not alone. But it makes for a sad disposition if you focus on the bad more than the good.
Maybe if you help those who have less it will give you a different outlook? IDK

Blessings

The problem is there's so little that's good anymore. I heard a story a few days ago about a sophomore being killed at her own school. By all accounts she was a wonderful person. But even so it made me angry. I know we're supposed to be forgiving and all but I don't feel sorry for those responsible for her death. They should be tried as adults.

Suzanna's right. And there is another verse that says that a person will start to become what they focus on. So, despite all the problems in this world, what is it we are told to focus upon?

I know what the answer is, but I'm starting to get tired of focusing on someone who doesn't seem to protect you regardless of whether or not you love him. Love is a very nice thing but it can't fix all your problems. There are terrible people in the world who do evil and horrible things, and "love" can't make them nice people. And why bother trying to fix the world anyway when in the end, God does it and gets all the credit?

And if free-will really is the cause, then we shouldn't have had it to begin with. Think about it. There'd be no evil or pain and God would have exactly what he wants from us. Everyone wins.

You can't get stressed out over the fact that the world isn't perfect. It will never be until The End. Thank God for His mercy, maybe He wants you to help make it better. In fact I know He does, The Bible says to not fail to do good to anyone you meet. There's my take. Love in Christ, -JIM

It's not so much the fact that the world isn't perfect, it's that so-called "Christians" aren't being who they're supposed to be. And despite a lot of great people who've done great things, they're usually forgotten, or not fully appreciated until after they die. Most of the time, thieves go free and their victims are punished.

Not having a dig but by your words and focus your not being who your supposed to be either. Go read Habbukuk, he has a conversation with God about this same thing...and so should you.

Oh and I agree with you turning off the news, I have too myself, I find its too much most of the time and I don't really need to know who stabbed or shot who 2000 miles away.

I'm not saying I've never done anything wrong, but at least I know now not to. At least I'm concerned for the people in my life. At least I'm being honest with how I feel. If I sound really angry and offending, I don't mean to. But I'm not going to apologize for having an opinion.

It's also really depressing trying to learn about the planets, the universe, stars and that kind of science stuff

Only to hear these highly educated scientists say we were made from meteorites that struck the earth 999 gajillion years ago and we're just here by freak chance.

Try learning about those kinds of things without having to be also indoctrinated into atheism 101

I'm not an atheist. I've been a Christian for five years, been raised in a Christian family, pretty much grew up in Mr. Roger's Neighborhood, while multitudes more have it way worse. Why bless me so much when I've done and endured so little to deserve it?

You wrote three posts about the world, then turn around and say the problem is Christians. Kind of a contradiction there.

Have you ever lost someone or something from your life and realized later how much you really appreciated it or them? Sometimes we have to lose something to realize how much it meant to us. But there are a lot of great people who have done great things that Are appreciated too. Your mentality is only focusing on negative and skipping the positive.

Really? Is that why our prison system is overcrowded? To say 'most of the time' criminals go free and their victims are punished is just an exaggeration that is, again, more of a reflection on your way of seeing things, than on reality.

Did you ever notice that all through the Bible, there is nothing said about you making "them" better people. The very people Jesus was kind to, murdered Him. (You been murdered yet?) All Jesus ever told us to do was act the way He told "us" to act....... and He did not say "This will make everyone you come into contact with be nice to you."

The thing is, Christians are supposed to not only be an example but to help make the world a better place.

No, but I know people who have. And now they're better people because of it. Unfortunately, these tend to be the exception rather than the rule, and rules are not based on exceptions.

The main reason our prison system is so overcrowded is that most prisoners are there for minor crimes, whereas the big names in places like Wall Street can avoid getting prosecuted for silencing and stealing.

So................ do your part. That's all you have any control over.

And like I said, God gets all the credit in the end anyway. Anyone, even non-christians, can be "loving" all they want. But most of the time, the favor isn't going to get returned.

Are you saying YOU want the credit?
