You just say it like it is in your no nonsense uncompromising way in usually one or two sentences and let the chips fall where they will. Pure honesty. A politician you'll never be brother. I love that.

To be fair, I was not knocking "helping." I was simply disappointed in seeing people actually believing him.

But you are right. I have been reacting pretty aggressively this week. I will not go into it, but there were mitigating circumstances, and I am working through them. Not sure of the resolution yet, but I'll try harder not to let my problems come here.
Im sorry I called you a pompous donkey.:(
I have been letting my problems come here too..Im going to try harder

That disappointing trait is one of the reasons I have made a few dollars over the years.... I could never work for anyone else for long, so I had to start my own businesses early in life. LOL

Well, I AM. But I really do prefer to be called "Arrogant Ass." (You can shorten it to "AA" to avoid any altercations with the Administration.)

I should have stated I was addressing it to Utah, but your in the similar vein.
I have become a lot more diplomatic over the years, but I was the same way for a long time.
I was in biz with my dad earlier on before I was in biz on my own, and looking back I cringe, I could have been a lot more kinder when I fired employees.
Even got into a fist fight with a police officer when I was 16 in large part because I was so blunt.
Good thing I was a minor and my dad could afford a good lawyer. And make a few donations to the retirement funds.

There are many doctrines in the Bible people can agree to disagree. But when someone attacks the gospel of Jesus by saying that one cannot be saved without being water baptized and that baptism washes sins away, etc, that is blatant heresy on the most important doctrine in the Bible! It's not just a matter of disagreement! Paul disputed with the people in Acts chapter 17!(was that wrong?) Paul also hated how the Jews kept adding to the gospel(whether it be circumcision, other works, etc). That is what my contention with certain people on the BDF are. A select few who teach salvation by works which is an attack on the Bible whether people realize it or not! Catholicism is popping it's head up on the BDF more and more as apostasy grows in these latter days!

"Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints." Jude 1:3

Well...so much for our civil discussion.

Some people just have to be RIGHT, and make everyone else agree to it.

Immaturity at its finest...

Don't leave, bro. You're way too valuable here; your wisdom and discernment enlightens many people here, especially me. Take a break if you must, but don't split altogether.
Thanks, brother.... it's guys like you, and Willie, and CS1, and, well, good grief...quite a few others that make it worthwhile.. We can discuss and disagree and still love each other as brothers without trying to preach each other into hell.
That goes for a lot of the ladies on here as well, but I don't want to be accused of flirting...;)

If you want to trust in water baptism to save you, you are free to believe whatever you want.

Just give it a rest, scooter...

Listen, I said my few posts on this thread without actually naming names on CC and then left. You on the other hand, quoted me and then proceeded to say something that had nothing to do with my post whatsoever. I simply responded to your post. At least the last person who quoted me, asked me a relevant question, and I answered that question accordingly.

So Willie calling us suckers is NOT mocking us? What would you call it, then? It was condescending mockery, that's what it was. This entire week, I've tried to help others here, friends and trolls alike, and I've been lied about and called names and I'm not taking this bull anymore!! I'm gonna speak up! The BDF is the most hateful, strifefilled forum on here and it's spilling over into the other forums. So much negativity on here it stinks!! Friends attacking friends and it shouldn't be that way. I expect alot better from my CC "friends".. :/
Ummm, Blue Ladybug? When did you ever not speak up? When did you ever take any bull? You may have, in your younger years -- you know, way back before you turned 60 -- but I've never seeing you cower, since I've been on this site.

But, you just said BDF is a "hateful" and "strifeful." Given BDF is merely a visual thing online, therefore does nothing on its own but sits there, how is that not saying everyone on there is hateful and strifeful? May I dare to believe you don't mean that literally? And I'm not saying you don't mean there's a whole lot of hatefulness and strifeful people on there, because there is. BUT you no more called every single person on that forum both those words than Willie called everyone on that thread suckers.

And, yeah, if I didn't know my motives and didn't get where the majority was going on that thread (both pro and con for the troll), he's right. It did appear some of us looked like suckers. Me being one of them.

So, Willie being Willie and all, pretty much did what you and I do most of the time -- told us what he saw us doing in blunt language. Ummm, yeah?

He's grumpier than usual lately, but it's not like he's ever been a quiet, gentle old soul. Neither are we.

And he's not the little girl having a 2-4 day temper tantrum lashing out at everybody. (Sorry. I really wasn't stalking, so I didn't pay attention to how long that went on. You know. Us evil old bitties are like that. lol) He's Willie! He's been roughly the same since... well, at least since I've been on here.

If we're going to give a benefit of a doubt to strangers, shouldn't we do it for people we know? At least we have more to go on with that benefit part, and less doubt.

We've got kind, gentle souls on this site. You, Willie and I aren't them. If we want others to accept us despite that one, aren't we even more obliged to give it to others? And I say this knowing, if butting heads with Willie was literal, I'd be forever waiting in the hospital for a doctor to make sure it's only a concussion AGAIN!

Willie called me a sucker?

Out of all the things I've ever been called? Cool!

The temper tantrum was about the worst it gets on here. At least around people we know, can't we lighten up on the rhetoric? Who better to try a new trend like that than you, Willie and me? If we can do it, how much easier is it for the semi-mellow people? How much nicer would it be for the truly kind gentle souls that we aren't?

I've been trying for the last 2-3 weeks. Have you noticed or do I still -- dare I say it -- suck at this?

I know the temper did get me once. I'm not even sorry for that. (Nothing to repent from since the person assumed so much about me that can't be assumed.) I've repented from jumping to conclusions too quickly. I've hurt people that didn't deserve it. I'm repenting. I'm continuing to turn from it. Doesn't mean I'm going meek and mild, but it does mean it's possible -- sometimes, remembering only through God -- that we don't have to keep the bad along with who we are personality wise.

7 X 70 per day. Benefit of a doubt ratio too maybe? Once we reach 491 times in one day, then let's go off. Deal? (Or, at least try for that, since we both know it's going to take a while to get that good.)

Ah, so as long as we all agree on H2O baptism, we're cool?

Sorry, but I find it funny out of all the bickering going on on this site the one that bothered you was H2O.

If this is really only about H2O, than I've wasted too much time.

I have most definitely noticed this. It really seems to have grown this way over the past year. Truthfully, idk what it is. Maybe it's the media convincing people to go to extremes? For example, if you think a certain way about subject A, you must also think a certain way about subject B, C, and D? Idk. That's how I feel about the news/political forum. People find other people's thoughts offensive.

As far as the BDF goes there's always been crazies on there but they would usually get snuffed out with a banhammer. I think the reason being is that most Christians who socialize on a Christian forum don't socialize as much in real life. Maybe sometimes due to extreme beliefs? That's just an untested theory though. Idk what's going on.
No? Really? Just in the last year? Man! I really did pick a bad time to join then. I first joined last April.

(Ut-oh? Was it me? And how come I hear a lot of heads nodding right now?)
